I usually do not post reviews but after my horrible experience with Dr. Saenz, I find it necessary. I will start with the consultation, she was very unfriendly and said I needed my lower two wisdom teeth removed and after the procedure I would have some discomfort. I went ahead and scheduled the procedure for the next month since she is only on that office one Saturday a month. March 5, 2016, the day of my extractions. Dr. Saenz comes in and does not even greet me as a matter of fact, I did not even know the doctor’s name until I filled my prescription bottle… Yes, that is how unfriendly and rude she is I had to find her name on a prescription bottle! Immediately she sticks the needle with the local anesthesia in my mouth like I am an animal and is talking to the dental assistant about her Facebook pictures. She walks away and leaves me unattended for about 25 minutes talking with the assistant about one of the employee’s new relationship with someone on OK Cupid while I started numbing up and my mouth was filling with saliva I did not know if I was to spit it out or swallow it all but I started to feel somewhat panicked. So now, the doctor decides to come in and remove my teeth again, no friendly greeting. The right side went pretty smooth, local anesthesia was ok and I only felt pressure which is normal. Now she moves on to my left side. The pain was EXCRUTIATING I felt almost everything, either she did not put local anesthetic in the correct area or she did not wait long enough but I was whimpering with tears in my eyes and she did not ever stop to ask if I was in pain. But what can I expect when she told the patient previous to me to “ stop screaming or people are going to think I am hurting you” I was just hoping for her to get the tooth out already so I can go home and never look at Dentaland or Dr. Saenz again but no, half of the tooth was extracted and guess what it ended up in my throat. I was choking on my own tooth and blood. I tried to get myself up to spit it out as it probably would have saved me the next 3-4 minutes of being scared for my life. Dr. Saenz pushed me back on the seat and yelled to me "if you don’t let me see what is going on I can’t help you." For several minutes I was gagging and my breathing was obstructed then finally. They found the piece of tooth. Not even a sorry. It has been approximately six days since the extraction and I still am in severe pain and I have a huge cut/gum flap along my gum line which is not stitched up I ended up having to google to find out what is was since she did not even tell me she was making a gum flap. She is the most unprofessional, dreadful practitioners I have come across my whole life and I would 1 million percent ever recommend her. I will never go back to Dentaland Aventura or any office she is affiliated with ever! If I could give this place negative 100 starts I would.

DO NOT COME HERE. Their billing department is horrendous. Whether as Dentaland or Great Expressions, it doesnt matter. Its a shame because Dr. Sutnick was a great dentist, but the staff at this place, the office manager Jasmine, the "Customer Relations" person (Jeanette) in Michigan, and whoever is doing their insurance and billing is completely incompetent. I overpaid or was mis-billed on every single one of my claims with them, and only discovered it when I was checking out and they said I owed them MORE money. I told them I paid everything in full, so that was impossible. One quick look at my Cigna claims page and I realized what a SCAM their place is. 1. Paid for a cavity fill $86.40 when I was only supposed to pay $63.80 per Cigna. This was back in February, I was never notified of overpayment or issued a check. 2. Paid for a crown buildup AND a porcelain crown a total of $469.00 per their estimate. The buildup was processed out of network for some reason, so the total for both came to $637.20 when it should have been $519.00. Regardless, They never called my insurance to check how much I would pay and this is a significant difference, I would never have done it with them had I known it would be this much. Despite all this they still owe me money because...FINALLY AND MOST APPALLINGLY 3. I paid in full $315.50 for a night guard against grinding my teeth when I cracked through my old one (which was from an old dentist in another state). Supposedly they went and "checked" with my insurance and I was told by staff that a night guard was NOT covered by my insurance because it was considered "cosmetic" since I did not have significant damage to my teeth. I spoke with MULTIPLE Cigna representatives who all told me that a night guard preventative against grinding IS covered 50%. Not only that, I paid over the contracted amount, which was only $301.00. TO DATE I have paid $870.90 to this office when I should have only paid $733.30, meaning they OWE ME BACK $137.60 and their system still shows I owe THEM money!!!! Needless to say, I have filed a financial complaint through Cigna to get my money back. I have never in my life dealt with a dental office, in-network or out-of-network, who does not CALL in to check on an estimate before major procedures. HUGE mistake to ever go here, never submit yourself to this horrible business. NEGATIVE STARS. I have called, been to their office in person multiple times; all they have to do is spend 10 minutes on the phone with Cigna and myself at the place and everything would be sorted out. Instead they continue to push me around, and Jeanette in Customer Service in Michigan no longer takes my calls or responds to my emails. AWFUL PLACE.

Dentist Stay away! First, when it comes to healthcare the last thing I would expect is a sales pitch and extreme push towards what feels like unnecessary procedures. They dont try in any way to work within insurance coverages, prices are always much higher than they seem or should be. Secondly I experienced what for me was the last straw. For a wisdom tooth extraction, after paying the majority of the $500+ invoice and being "prequalified" only $91 of insurance coverage, I received a voicemail from their back office asking for the $91 as "past due." Shocked at the call and questioning its legitimacy, I immediately contacted "Jem" (Jemuel Macapagal) at the reception, confirming if the claim of an open invoice was correct. I was assured that it was valid and was directed to call back the same number to remit payment. After taking a few days to discuss with my employers insurance broker, I was told that my insurance would not be covering it and called back to remit payment. At this time a letter was received to the same effect asking for my credit card details. I was uncomfortable putting such sensitive information in the mail, so I called in to pay by phone. The number would ring on regardless of the time of day or day of the week. I called Jem again at the reception and was just directed back once more. After several further attempts and receiving a second notice, I filled the form and returned it via post mail against my better judgement. I kept an eye out to ensure that payment was processed on my account. Finally on 02/19 payment was processed and I felt relieved that that it was behind me. However a letter was later received a good 2 weeks after payment was made dated one week later 3/25 advising me that the invoice was being sent to collections! Shocked by the news, I called Jem again at the reception and was assured that the letter was inaccurate and asked to simply discard it and not to worry about it. After insisting several times, I finally received an email to that effect and I remain hopeful without optimism that this mess it behind me. Bottom line, I will never return to Great Expressions (formerly Dentaland of Aventura). FYI: name change is recent, seemingly to escape all the negative reviews under the former business name. Ive come across a similar story where a woman had the same experience only she found out after it had actually gone to collections as she never received notice. I am worried that I will suffer the same fate and warn all to proceed with caution. Will definitely NOT return and will NOT recommend to others.
