Was there for over THREE hours and was completely unhappy with the Vet. When I arrived I was told I should come back at two oclock. I had just driven an hr to get to Bradenton so I decided to wait. I was finally seen at 2:40. The vet treated my dog for diarrhea with out explaining to me that I could not get my dog vaccinated (which was the purpose of my visit) after he received the antibiotic shot. I asked if I could purchase the vaccines and administer them myself as I have worked as a vet assistant. She said no which is understandable but I should have been made aware previous to treatment that I could not get my dog the vaccines I wanted him to have. As part of my dogs care instructions I was told to give him Gatorade cut with water.... Pedialyte is actually a better alternative for animals as it doesnt have the amount of sugar that Gatorade does hence the reason Drs recommend it to treat children. I would think a vet would know that. She then says I should buy an expensive Hills Science diet prescription dog food for him. When you google the ingredients there is very little difference between the prescription and regular Hills food on top of the fact that the food she wanted me to get has more fillers in it than his current food. Then I was charged $40 her to give him an antibiotic, they said it was an exam fee, she never even listened to his heart, felt his muscles or ears or anything associated with an exam. I was also not charged $40 the last time I was there when a Vet did actually do all those things. I paid my $73 bill which included his antibiotic shot and his pills. I drove the hr back to home already regretting my decision to return to that office. When I got home I began to separate my dogs medication so I could make sure he got two a day for 10 days as per the instructions. When I counted the pills I found only 14 pills. I called and was on hold for 10 minutes then the receptionist tells me that what "probably" happened was the Vet meant to say twice a day for 7 days. Well great! I am glad I should probably be giving my dog medication for 7 days instead of 10. Ill make sure he washes it down with Gatorade and plenty of Hills dog food.

REVISED 10/19/11. I am very unhappy. Dr. Butler has retired (congrats to him) and someone else has bought the place. My cat has the same eye infection and in the past they would have just let me buy the medicine from them. However, I was told now that I would have to bring the cat in for an office visit at $40 + medicine so the Dr. can "build a relationship" with her. WHAT??? Im unemployed and I can go to a vet closer to my house that actually makes appointments and has a clean office for that price. Boo for you Bradenton Small Animal Hospital! Its a shame that a vet that made animal care inexpensive is gone and a money grubbing vet bought it! I wont be back. Original review. Okay... So to break it down to everyone. Yes, the place is not very upscale or even updated. However, the Dr. REALLY cares about you and your animals. To get my dogs shots and meds at my old vet was going to cost me $189. Dr. Butler charge us $95 for the same thing. I took my cat in for an eye infection and shots and he didnt even charge me for the office visit. Yes, there is a wait sometimes since it is first come, first served but well worth it. I am completely happy with this place. In these tight times I wish there were more business like this.

My service dog injured her tail through screen door... Had to take her to emergency vet in Sarasota. She had 15 stitches and vet bill of $849.00. A week later for followed up and was told had to be amputate the tail. Vet bill would be another $600.00...... I was so angry as the professionalism wasnt there at this Sarasota Emergency Vet hospital with young doctors, fresh out of vet school, no hands on experiences. So someone told me about this Bradenton Small Animal Hospital. Yes, this place is not up to scale but the doctors were great and the bill is only $200. I would recommended this Bradenton Small Animal Hospital to anyone. They were there for your animals, They care alot and took my dog with so much kindness and left me with no fear or stress when I left this vet. I am happy with their service.

I called the clinic last Friday needing advice for my cat, Teddy. Although it was near closing time, the vet urged me to bring him in - he was having difficulty breathing. The vet took him right in and told me that his condition was serious and that she was worried about him. He was already being treated for a liver condition, and now it seemed that he had developed a heart condition. The staff was very professional and compassionate and helped me to make a very tough decision. Teddy was suffering. I am so grateful for the 13+ years that I spent with my favorite pet, a beautiful seal point Himilayan, and for the great care and compassion of the staff, especially Dr. Davies and her technician. I highly recommend this hospital. The care is excellent and the services are affordable.

My family has been taking their pets to Dr. Butler and Dr. Dunham for years and have nothing but great things to say about their compassion for the animals and the reasonable fees. We are also involved in Australian Shepherd rescue and have brought all of our foster dogs their for medical care. We were quite distressed when we met the new vet that joined the practice to replace Dr. Butler since her retired. The fees having increased, the discount for 501 3c rescue is gone, and her attitude is abrasive and condescending. They now charge upscale vet prices in what used to be an affordable office. The building and neighborhood do not match what this new vet wants to charge. It pains me to say that we wont be back. We will miss the staff and Dr. Dunham (he works part time now).

Had a great visit with Dr Logas. Only downside was being told we would have lab results the following day. 72 hours later we havent been contacted with results and when I called I was told the doctor was out and would call me on Monday (another 3 days from now). Meanwhile our dog hasnt eaten in a week and if there is something I would need to know about with the blood work she would probably die before I find out or I would have to take her to another vet. I asked if the other vet could call me and was told they are busy but would try. Hoping for a little more service than this especially after promptly remitting $551 which included bloodwork and hopefully a return phone call.

I had a great experiance this morning at the clinic with my Shih tzu puppy. I was referred to Dr.Butler by a friend but did not know Dr.Butler was retired. Dr. Logas was the doc I was seen by and she was amazing with my puppy. I was very impressed with the staff as well the location is not far from my home which is good as well. I was sucked into a Banfield plan for my cat a while ago and the cost of everything was insane. When I looked around and found Bradenton small animal hospital I was amazed at the great care and low cost of everything. Great job I look forward to bring my pets in for all thier check ups and needs.
