I have been with this vet for 6 years and have had nothing but excellent care and customer service for my animals, and up until this week, I have had 6 animals, (3 dogs, and 3 cats). This week I had to have 2 of my dogs put to sleep. They were both almost 14 yrs old, which is very old for large dogs as they were. They both had multiple age related problems, and could barely get around anymore. The vet and staff all agreed it was the humane thing to do. Four years ago I had 4 cats. One of them developed a blood clot in the large abdominal artery and it paralyzed her back end. The vet said they could do surgery, but did not recommend it because she was developing clots due to low cardiac output, which is congenital. I am a registered nurse, and asked about blood thinners,and the vet said it doesnt work the same in cats as it does in humans. They could have strung me along for a lot of money in surgery and meds, but they didnt. In fact when I asked the vet what he thought, he flat out said the humane thing to do was to let her go. This week when I had to go through the same with my dogs, they cried right along with me. On the way to the vet for their final visit, one of my dogs defecated in the car on the way there. She was sitting in it, so it was smashed all into the cloth seat. One of the techs came out with a roll of paper towels and bleach spray, and cleaned the seat. He got it all! Now that is customer service!

I was very unhappy with the care they gave to my pets. They almost killed my cat by keeping him on IV therapy overnight with the IV not properly inserted into the vein. They said that my cat would be monitored throughout the night but that could not have happened because the next morning, all the fluid had seeped into my cats stomach and rotted out all his skin...which they said was exactly what happened. Eventually his entire body had lost all fur and skin! It looked like a gruesome horror movie and all because he was not watched properly during therapy. Was extremely upsetting. I have since changed vets and am very happy with my new vet. As a registered nurse myself, I was very unhappy about the the way both I and my pets were treated. Very overpriced, they require testing that is not necessary (and I am one to go above and beyond with my pets), and they seem to be more about the money than the care of the animals (I will pay top dollar for the best care, but this was not the best care). I usually dont post negative comments in reviews, this is my first negative review actually, but I felt the need to do so after what happened with my cat. I hope they have improved since this horrible event happened.

I went there for the first time in November 2013 to put asleep my 9 year old rottweiler as he was in final stage of cancer. No need to say it is not an easy experience, but all the staff was really professionnal and gave me support. The doctor explained each step of the process and it helped me feel better. I really appreciated that even if I did not have any record there, they accepted to set an apointment a couple of hours after I called. By the time I was there, I noticed the place was very clean and this hospital is located in a convenient area. I would recommand this hospital as the staff made me feel confident. It is definitively not the kind of place where the first concern is $$$.

Bedside manner is very important to me and I truly appreciated Dr. Wilkinsons frank and informative manner. I didnt get the answers I wanted, the ones I expected... just not the ones I wanted. I found the staff to be very friendly and compassionate. Dr. gave me several options and the information I needed to research my choices... we are losing our Buster but I am confident in my choices thanks to the information provided to me. I will be back. I have been in the dog "business" for over 50 years, my reputation is important to me... Ive trained, showed, bred, run a Petco daycare and now I paint dogs for a living... I would not hesitate to recommend these folks.

We spend six months here in Haines City and had been looking for a vet and a kennel for our pampered pet Max. Called made an appointment to have Max seen and was surprised that I could go in that afternoon. Met the entire staff and they were all very professional and friendly. I inquired about the kennel next door and they right away said I could go over and check it out. I did just that. When I walked in I was greeted with a smile and they showed me around. This kennel was very, very clean! The prices are super you cannot get this type of service anywhere else. I would highly recommend Heart of Florida Animal Hospital and Pet Resort.

The receptionist is unfriendly. She doesnt speak directly to you. She doesnt speak clearly. Arrived early being first time, to fill out one sheet of paperwork. But still waited to be seen. Pour customer service! The doctors where ok. The exam took 2 minutes, didnt seem thorough at all. Was given two shots to my puppy and that really was it. Will be looking elsewhere for future services for my puppy. Sad!

Wow, my dog has bad allergies and I can tell when she needs help. I was immediately worked in, Dr. Keyes saw the red on my dog, gave my dog a shot and within 5 minutes her ears and body were no longer red. Heart of Florida Animal Hospital and Pet Resort is incredible! Incredible staff and Doctors. I wouldnt take my animals any where else!

I have been taking my animals to the vet there for going on year and have had the Best treatment. I went to another vet in Davenport for Six years paid a Fortune. When I had a emergency and called they said they were booked up and couldnt help. Called Heart of Florida they worked me in. Great Doctors and Staff!!!

I cant even get these people to answer their phone. Then finally someone answers and hangs up on me before I can finish my first sentence. Not very professional is you ask me. I have dealt with them in the past and the service was adequate, but that was 4 years ago. Seems things may have gone downhill since?

This place was a nightmare. Staff isnt friendly. Little nippy dog in the office. My baby has food allergies and came home with a rash, visibly lost weight (they said he was eating when I called to check on him), and now he cries in his sleep. Not sure who gives them 4 stars, i just didnt see it.

My dog Dale hurt his shoulder on a Saturday morning. I didnt have an appointment or anything but the front staff was so very nice they were able to fit him in and the doctor was so good with dale while he was in pain. I would recommend this office to anyone that are an amazing team.
