This week our beloved Chase Marie, a senior greyhound mix, had a terrible seizure which we thought would lead to that choice that no pet lover ever wants to make. She was a mess(as was I). I called MetroPet to speak to Doctor Alice about what I could do homeopathically to possibly ease her suffering. Doctor Alice took the time to speak to me and give me many suggestions to get her eating and fill her with fluids to make her have some more strength. She never pressured me to come into the office or to take that next step unless we really believed Chase had no other option. The next day we brought Chase in to Metropet because she had taken a turn for the worse. Doctor Alice came in on her day off to take that next step with her. However, once we got there Chase was a whole lot better to everyones surprise! We were greeted by the Office Manager who was very kind to us and to Chase as we waited for Doctor Alice to arrive. Once she arrived she was very excited to see that Chase was feeling better and got down to the business of figuring out what was wrong. We spent quite some time at the office while Chase had tests run like xrays and blood work. Doctor Beck was also able to consult on Chases case and spoke with us as well about her issues. By the end of the day we had a prognosis and figured out a regime of medication and treatments to get her back to health. Its been two days since we left and I just had to write a review to tell others how wonderful this practice is. Everyone I came in contact with was extreamly kind to us and to my dog. You can tell that this group of professionals are truly a team that work to give the best care for your pet. Doctor Alice didnt have to come in on her day off and I so appreciated her kindness about my choice of putting Chase down or not. There was no pressure and no extraneous shots etc. I truly think she got the best care she could have and recommend this practice to anyone who is looking for answers and top notch care for their pets. Thank you Doctor Alice, Doctor Beck and all the Team at MetroPet Veterinary Clinic from the bottom of my heart for taking such good care of our family member Chase. She thanks you too!

I love Metropet! We found Dr. Alice through an emergency visit with one of our family ferrets and from that experience, I have since moved my bunnies, my ratties and recently my kittens to her care. She has seen them for everything from routine exams to various anesthetic procedures, surgeries and diagnostics. She is always willing to answer any and all of my questions, will always look into whatever new information I bring her regarding their care and can always put me at ease about my fur kids various issues. I have worked in the vet industry and have had animals requiring trips to various specialists around the area, and Dr. Alice always stands out when someone asks me about a veterinarian whom I recommend. I am so glad to have her on my fur babies veterinary team and am so grateful for all of the great care that she provides to my animals! She and the Metropet team always make us feel welcome, and when we see any of the team out and about, they ask about my fur kids, which means a lot! Dr. Alice also gives back to the community and supports rescue, which we appreciate greatly as we are a strictly all adoption/rescue family! I definitely recommend anyone to visit Metropet!

Pros: Convenient and good veterinary care - Cons: young veterinarians. My background: Ive had all manner of pets for 45 years and have been rescuing various for 20 plus. Ive dealt with all kinds of vets. You can tell the difference between the ones who have been around awhile and the younger ones. Older vets have an intuition that comes from experience--and that intuition can save you hundreds of dollars on vet bills. Younger vets tend to rely heavily on expensive tests and since pet insurance is new, expensive, and doesnt always cover tests or preventatives, you can end up with a high bill very quickly. I am very aware of this with Metropet. Its come up twice. Both times, getting a second opinion from a more experienced vet was cheaper than (and as accurate as) the tests and procedures Metropet wanted to do. Thats not a complaint as much as an observation. If you have young pets and/or good pet insurance, these guys are great. Good with animals and people, average price, clean facilities, etc. If you have an older pet or a pet with health problems, they may not be the vet for you unless you have some kind of coverage.

I was referred to this location. Upon arrival the waiting room was not inviting (decor wise/drab/gloomy), than there was the receptionist, Mary I think, she was kind and hard a nice warm welcome for our new puppy and my family. She went above and beyond to assure that we were comfortable. When we went into the exam room, I yet again felt out of sorts; stained chairs, dingy walls, no appeal. Which is kind of hard to not notice; especially when trying to find a place to care for a loved one and possibly more of your loved ones. Anyhow, when the doc arrived she was kind, knowledgeable and most of all caring; great traits for a doc. Our puppy came from a backyard breeder (we believe) and had a wide array of symptoms they needed to analyze. They performed blood work, stool analysis, gave him heartworm prevention, antibiotics for the parasites and puppy check which cost us right around $275. Price was moderate. So after careful consideration I believe that the kindness of Mary and Doc out weighed some of the negative factors (appeal and price) and we will be returning again and will update review.

I was referred to this clinic almost 2 years ago and have been taking my cat here since then. My cat has been to many different veterinary clinics as we have moved around quite a bit. Metro pet vet by far has the most caring and helpful staff that Ive seen, personally. All staff are helpful and professional 110% of the time. They seem to be high volume, they have a big client base which reflects on the business. Even when theyre a little backed up and super busy, the staff and doctors will always give you 100% of themselves and their time, always super detailed, never rushed. The receptionists, doctors and techs are constantly going out of their way to help in any way that they can. They really personalize with their clients and owners. Dr Kim has been working with my cats specific needs for awhile. She is always competent, knowledgable, gentle and sufficient with Charlie. I can not think of a single negative thing to say about this place.

This year I decided to adopt a 4 year old rabbit. Deciding what veterinary office to go to was tough until I found Metropet Veterinary Clinic. The first thing I noticed about Dr. Alice Toriello is that she is a member of the Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians! She knows all about rabbits and was the best decision for my rabbit. During his first visit Winston, my rabbit, was still nervous around people because he wasnt fully socialized by his previous owner. Dr. Toriello knew what would help calm him down for the vet check! She also made sure I understood all of his needs. The Metropet team is very easy to work with when making appointments and they are all very educated about many different animal types-- including rabbits. This is definitely my favorite veterinary office to date. Make sure to check them out!
