Very special thanks to Dr. Barbosa and his great staff I have two beautiful dogs that I call them furry children. Over years, I had brought them to Hallandale animal hospital for two different surgeries -patellar luxation and hernia-. Result? They recovered as if there was nothing. A few days ago, my husband woke up with one of them made a mistake, we all thought it was an accident. By the time I go to work, he had diarrhea. I called the other vet that I took them since I moved, they advised me to starve him for a day. I had a feeling that it wasn’t usual. I called Hallandale animal hospital, they asked me to bring him in, which I did. By the time that I brought him to the hospital, he was bleeding uncontrollably. Poor my little baby was getting cold. He had bacterial infection in his intestine. The whole staff was very attentive, Dr. Barbosa and his medical staffs started preparation before any payment discussion. My baby was hospitalized under a strong painkiller and IV for two days. Finally on day 3, he STOOD UP! If you are looking for a vet who you can trust, meet Hallandale Animal hospital. Over so many visits to see him, hospital staffs were always nice and caring. I am very glad that I did not trust over the phone consultation or online information. I could have lost my family. Again, thank you for saving my furry child.

I have been taking a succession of pets to the Animal Hospital of Hallandale for twelve years. Dr. Barbosa has treated our red poodle, Spaniards, for several years and was with us when we had to say the final goodbye at age 17. We took Gigi, our next poodle, to Dr. Barbosa for ten years. She received excellent care and attention age 16. She did pass with kidney failure; Dr. Barbosa and the staff at the animal hospital were very kind and helpful when I learned that it was again time to say goodbye. When Miss Patches joined us, the first place she visited was Dr. Barbosa. Thankfully she is still with us and is recovering beautifully from surgery; she was spaded latter in life. When I asked if dogs go through menopause and would she be there soon; Dr. Barbosa explained all the problems that often occur later in life. Miss Patches had the surgery the next day; she is recovering beautifully and, again, the staff was great. They never got upset with me no matter how many times I called with questions. Dr. Barbosa also had a rescue kitten that captured my heart in one evening. I would not let the staff list me as the owner on our trial visit. They must have had a good laugh when I walked out the door. It is with joy that I share that a very handsome Billy Boots is healthy, happy, and the delight of my heart.

Dr Barboza have been my veterinary for years, not only is he a great doctor and a caring one, along with entire staff. Their ethics and work profession are beyond. I have had several emergency with my dogs, they have gone above and beyond to give my dogs the best possible care. Not to mention staying after hours to make sure my chole is out of danger after life threatening surgery at no extra cost, staff arriving early to see how she made it thru the night You dont see this kind of treatment these days. I will for ever be so grateful to Hallandale Animal Hospital. I truly love the entire staff and the Doctor, so does my Chole, Bailey, & Zeus they look forward to their visit, so they can get spoiled with treats from them. Thank you Hallandale Animal Hospital, I have 3 healthy loving dogs due to your great service. Thank you for having so much patience with me and for answering all of my questions. Once again for ever grateful.

Bad experience. Seemed to be more about the money than about caring for animals. Some services recommended were unneeded and turned out to be 4 times the price of other clinics. $200 for an X-ray? $250 for a simple blood test? Cmon. Completely predatory. He wanted to do a battery of tests for $990 before he would even tell me what was wrong. I took my dog to another vet. he smelled her breath, took a stool sample and made a preliminary diagnosis based on that, confirmed it with a $24 blood test while i watched and confirmed that she was in late stage kidney failure and suggested she be put down. Im guessing if i stayed the course with Dr Barbosa the bill would still be ticking up so long as the dog clinged to life. I made a mistake, you have been warned.

Fourteen years ago I adopted Billy who has been rescued by animal Hospital of Hallendale treated and sheltered for eight month .We became part of the hospital family. The reception staff was always very helpful accommodating, and caring. We had an instance of poisoning and received immediate attention by the staff. I fell absolutely taken care of with my pet and would definitely highly recommend the hospital to everyone. Experience counts and longtime customer service of employees like Luvy, Tim, Shannon is very important to me. They know me and my pet by name when we enter the hospital. Five stars! Daniela & Billy

Started coming here a little over a year ago with my cat, and now more recently with my dog. Dr Barbosa is not only a very smart and skilled vet, but hes always friendly, engaging, and empathetic to the needs of my fur babies. He takes his time during the exam and always answers my 10 million questions. Hes very patient and very kind and you can tell he loves what he does AND he loves the pets in his care. Ive dealt with several vets over the years throughout South Florida and I can tell you that this clinic, and its entire team, is the BEST!

My family has been taking our dogs to Dr. Barbosa for over a year now. He is amazing and extremely knowledgeable. The people here make you feel at home and there is a sense of personal attention. My dog was not another cog in the factory if that makes sense. Dr. Barbosa is from Brazil and he was able to communicate in Portuguese, Spanish and English which helped my mother and father a lot!!! I really recommend this animal hospital!!!

Very professional and clean place. The staff is very caring and kind. Doctor Joe Barbosa diagnosed my cat very fast and accurate, compared to other vet clinics. It took them 5 visits to find the problem. When i travel, my pets love to stay for boarding at the Animal Hospital. Highly recommend this hospital for their vet services.!!!

I am taking my 3 dogs Shelby, Cooky and Peanut to Dr. Barbosa since 6 years and his staff has always been very professional and caring. Dr. Barbosa himself is very knowledgeable and truly has a passion for his business. Since I am traveling a lot, I bring my dogs for boarding, because I know they get a great amount of love and care.

I use the Animal Hospital of Hallandale for 10 years and drive all the way from Kendall Miami to Hallandale because I trust their professionalism more than with anybody else. I also like their great care and friendly service. My Maltese doggies will continue using Mr. Barbosas clinic until they close their eyes.
