I recently acquired a new puppy, and was deciding on which vet to go with, as the choices are many. I took my last puppy to Arbor Pet, but from the feedback Ive received recently, I was wary that the quality of care may have deteriorated... A colleague of mine recommended Gentle Care, and I thought perhaps I would give them a shot, especially upon seeing the ratings and reviews so positive. I went in with my puppy to have a quick nail clipping, as they are quite sharp and hes a jumper... I thought that I would make an initial appointment while I was there. When I arrived, I was treated cordially at best. The receptionist was nice enough, but she seemed preoccupied with other things. Granted, it appeared to be rather busy, so I wasnt too concerned with that in and of itself. When the nail techs arrived to do the nail clipping, they referred to me and one commented to the other "hes just a clipping..." They proceeded to perfunctorily accomplish the task, which was horribly difficult to witness as my poor pooch was squealing and carrying on. They finished and as my dog was handed back to me, he promptly told me it would be $15 with barely another glance. I was so taken aback by his brusque dismissal, that I actually made the comment of "could I make an appointment as well?..." as I wasnt sure if he was demanding my payment to be taken by him immediately, as his disinterest was nearly palpable when he realized that I was "just a clipping"... Noone cares to feel like their patronage is somehow less of importance, being perceived as unworthy of common professionalism and courtesy because they are not yet an established regular client with a business. And nothing dissuades me further from returning to a provider such as this than the overt, unfriendly attitude exhibited by the first line of this business. The most unfortunate aspect of this encounter is that I never even got the chance to meet the veterinarians here, who may be excellent caregivers and business owners.

Ive been going to this vet off and on for a few years and I used to love it but then I brought my three pit bulls in to get there Trifexis and 3 year rabies shot along with the tags ,I made an appointment and wound up having to wait in the waiting room for 30minutes which I did not mind but then a walk in came in ( which was a non emergency) and the receptionist whispered to the nurse coming to bring me and my pets back that I could wait longer and she could bring the walk in back first ..I then heard the nurse question her and say but these patients have an appointment and she replied with yes but that doesnt matter just take him back first, thankfully the nurse defended that the receptionist was wrong for that a took me back for my appointment, after me and my husband were put into a room the doctor finally came in,I told her I wanted to get the trifexis pill for all my dogs as well as the three year rabies shots and the tags, she said I should split the pill into two so it could last me longer to save me money which I would have considered a nice gesture if it was not based off of appearance, she claimed we looked like we needed to save the money .. Me and my husband are more than financially capable of paying for all my pets medical bills , most of the staff was more interested in my husband being Hispanic and having dreadlocks and how they were cared for then they were in caring for my pets. Ive never had an issue at this vet and I cannot believe the judgement that was passed simply because we "look young"

I have been going to Gentle Care for over twenty years! The differences that I have found between Gentle Care and other vet practices is.... first, they allow you to be with your animal when doing a procedure. This is hugely important to me. And comforting. Second, is cleanliness! MUCH more than any other vet practice Ive ever been to. Even the corners of the floor are clean. Third, is the high level of compassion for your animal ... AND FOR YOU! And lastly is honesty! Honest price wise. They do not gouge you like other practices! Honest about what to expect. Honest about whether... or not ... you should put a lot of money into services. You can depend on the doctors to tell you the truth! Thats huge. I have had to put several pets down over twenty years and while it is always so difficult... ALL the people at Gentle Care make it as easy as possible for you with the compassion they show. This is an extremely well run practice.

We have been going to gentle care for over 15 years now. Our experience has been mostly with Dr. Cox and some with Cr. Cords (we have not worked with the other Dr. but hear good things about her). We were referred to them by volunteers at the Broward County Humane Society who took their animals to them. The real concern they show our animals and respect they give to us is always superb. I am a nurse and research everything that happens to my canine children. Dr. Cox and Cords are always on top of everything that comes up and are extremely accurate with their diagnosis. From cancer to masticatory myocitis. When we moved near West Palm Beach, we were not pleased with the quality of vets we tried and continue to travel 45 minutes one way to Gentle Care for all of our animals needs. We do not trust anyone else.

For starters the reviewer at the yelp site is an idiot. I wouldnt pay any attention to that review. Somthing happened AFTER they left the facility. (geeze a month later???) And, how did the cat get its "jaw broken"? Sounds like owner neglect (or abuse) to me. All of the vets at Gentle Care are fantastic. They are truly concerned about the pets they see day in and day out. The follow-up care is amazing. The staff is fantastic! Every time we visit the wait is short, the examinations are thorough and they are sincerely concerned about the well being of each pet that comes through their door. I wouldnt take any of my pets to any facility other than Gentle Care. Their name sez it all and they truly are the best.

Let me start out with, I do not have any family that works here. I did not know a single person when I arrived at this office ,and lastly, I had been to 4 different vets before making an appointment at Gentle Care. This place is UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!! The people at the front are friendly, the assistants are friendly, the veterinarians are knowledgeable and I bet if I would of stayed till closing, the freaking people that keep that place spotless would be friendly. Take it or leave it after reading this review, but this place was "THE NEEDLE IN THE HAYSTACK"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been a Gentle Care Animal customer since I adopted my first pet in 1986. There are hundreds of other animal hospitals I could take my pets to but I stick with Gentle Care because they not only take good care of my pets, they take good care of me, the dog mom. They offer most of the services my pets require but complex orthopedic surgery does get referred to veterinary specialists. The costs are faur, especially when you think about how much it would cost to have to pay out of pocket for equivalent procedures in a human hospital. I highly recommend Gentle Care.
