I signed my wife and I up for a plan starting next month. The process is quite painful. If they ask you for something once, plan on repeating yourself at least 3 or four times. Once the application over the phone is done they send you an email to confirm that you accept the plan. We did this but chose not to pay at that time. We wanted to make sure that the doctor that we found was included in the plan. I called customer service to find out. When I called there was about an hour wait to talk to someone. Over an hour later I received a work related call that I had to take. I switched over and when I returned back to the call 2 minutes later Blue Cross Blue Shield had hung up on me. I tried calling again and did the call back option. It was supposed to be an hour and a half later. Well it actually took about 2 and a half hours. At that time I was unable to answer my phone. Fortunately about 45 minutes later they called me back. The agent told me that because I hadnt paid for the first month that they couldnt find me in the system. I explained that I didnt want to pay without knowing if the doctor that we wanted took this plan. She said that I had to pay to find out. She finally said to get the plan # and call back. I found the plan and went through the multi hour process of getting someone on the phone. I gave them the plan # but because this agent could not find me in their system she didnt want to help me. I repeatedly said that I just needed to know if the doctor that I wanted was covered or not. She then apologized and said that she had to put me on hold. Twenty minutes later she got on the phone again, apologized and said she was still looking into it. About a half hour later another call came in and I answered it. I was on this call for about 4 minutes and in the middle of it the agent had now hung up. I called back and the wait time was almost two hours. I couldnt wait that long at that time and hung up. On Monday I tried calling again. The hold time was two hours. We decided to just pay for the service and cross our fingers. We tried paying on the website. The website crashed repeatedly. Finally I got to the fourth page which is the last, and also takes your credit card information. The website crashed again. The only thing that I could do was start all over but all this did was crash 10-15 more times. I finally got past the first page and then got an error message saying that an account had already been created. I then tried logging in only to have your system say that that account did not exist. After 15 more minutes of this I decided to call. I called to make my first months payment over the phone because your website was not working. When I got through the prompts it said that the wait time was 2 hours and 30 minutes to 3 hours and 33 minutes. TO MAKE A PAYMENT? At this point we decided that BLUE CROSS BLUE SHIELD FLORIDA is a JOKE! How can anyone be in business and suck this bad. You are in the customer service business. I definitely do not recommend Blue Cross Blue Shield Florida to anyone.

Florida Blue is a rip-off I pay $500 a month 4 Premium and cant get a simple coverage for my prescription Crestor but yet theyll pay over 3000 4 another medicine that Im on. Set up basically saying that hell with me at the end of the day give me your $500 and Ill see you in the hospital then you can pay 10 of thousands for medical treatment for not being able to give me or cover me on a simple prescription Crestor

I have an excellent plan as an indiviual and pay great rates. They also have awesome customer service and follow up if you had all your questions answered. So not understanding the negative comments below.

If you love horrible customer service, long wait times and over billing, then Florida Blue is for you!
