First and last time going to this office. Worse experience with any doctors office.. Called TWICE before even going to my appointment to confirm my appointment and make sure I knew how much Id have to pay out of pocket and both times I was told nothing. Not only do I get there and check in and nothing is mentioned about payment but I get called back the Dr does what they call a " consultation" where Im just in underwear and their gown to be laid on a bed where a biopsy is about to be done when a nurse walks in and sits at the computer doing God knows what and Im then informed I have to pay $200 before the procedure has to be done.. After I tell them I wasnt prepared for this Im advised to reschedule and have front desk explain better. Not only was this woman rude to me but she couldnt explain why I wasnt notified before I wasted my time going there in the first place.. I called my insurance to tell them my issue and they said that because it was their error and decided to charge me after I was already checked in they should of still done the procedure and billed me for the out if pocket cost. Which is all I asked them to do before I walked out.. Dr. Knight on the other hand was very kind but that so called receptionist is ridiculously unprofessional.

I went to their office to inquire about having a mole removed. My question was very simple... I wanted to know how much would it cost. Its just a simple issue, nothing complex. I was told by the front office worker that I would have to make an appointment and pay an office visit charge before they could give me any idea how much it would be. I showed her the mole. She said all I could do was come back for the visit. I asked her how much that would cost. She tells me that an office visit is $195.00. I was a bit stunned. I asked again saying you mean to tell me that I have to pay $195.00 just to find out how much it would cost to remove this? (Pointing to the mole.) She said yes, thats their policy. I told her that she was out of her mind. She said its the doctors policy. I said I know, and that I meant that HE is out of his mind. All I expected was a simple answer about how long it takes, and what it normally costs. I just want a common mole removed, not to pay for their huge office. I honestly feel like they are a rip off and project seriously bad professionalism. As a prospective patient, I DESERVE to get an answer for such a simple question as this.

DONT GO HERE! DOCTOR WILL RIP YOU OFF! The first two times I went and had a tattoo removed the doctor turned up the laser on the highest setting possible he could turn it up to without me bleeding. Each time afterward the tattoo would turn black from the blood coming to the surface. The third time I went he wanted me to use the new laser (which he said was 10 times better) but it would literally cost me twice as much. So I declined, said I was satisfied with the rate my tattoo was disappearing and really did not want to pay twice as much. He didnt seem happy about it but said fine. When he was doing the tattoo removing one of his assistants pointed to her computer screen and said to him, "Are you sure thats going to work, look she already had....." He cut her off with a dirty look! He was using the laser at a much lower rate so that it would not remove as much of my tattoo! Afterwards instead of my tattoo turning black it was barely a light pink color! He decided if I wasnt going to pay twice as much for his new laser, then he would make me have to have more treatments! Unprofessional! Immoral! Con-Artist! Dont ever go to North County Dermatology Clinic

Today was my last day as a patient. Every year I go for my body scan. Every year they cut at least two moles to biopsy. Every year they send the specimens to their own pathologist, not covered by my insurance. Every year I get a bill. Well I thought I would be smart this time and request them to change the pathologist. You would think they would know which insurance covered which. Apparently not. She named two and well "I picked" the wrong one. So $133 bill for a biopsy that I never heard results on from the doctor. Insurance, pathologist, doctor, pathologist run around and I was the one that changed who to send it to. I am out the money and have payments to make now. That man and office have gotten enough of my money!! No more!! Update.... This post must have been read by the office. I got a call today from the office manager. She apologized and was going to contact the pathologist to fix my bill.

I would not give it 1 star , but you have to or it wont let you post a review. My son was put on acutane around 2011. It had horrible affects, his acne increased 100x after he was on it. He also had mood, rage issues, which are side effects. I was frustrated and concerned about him being on it, and Dr. Knight said to my son , in my presence" youll be ugly for the rest of your life , if you dont stay on it". I refused to have my son seen by him again. My son then listened to what he said and stayed on it, to my dismay, since he was 18 yrs old at the time. It had long lasting negative emotional affects, and horrible scaring. Oh, how I severly regret ever taking my son to him. Ive thought many a time about posting, looking back at my sons Struggles , this is one of the things I regret so very very much. :(

Have used this dermatologist several times over the past few years and have always been impressed with the quality and attention to detail from the doctor and his staff. You see a dermatologist to identify problems with your skin and Dr. Knight does the most thorough skin check Ive ever had done on me. He carefully goes over your body in detail looking for abnormalities and then zooms in with a light and magnifying glass on each one of them. Hes removed/treated quite a few things for me and I always feel confident when I leave his office that nothing was overlooked. Nice people in the reception area, too!

With over 20 years experience as both a nurse and a dermatology patient in this area, I wholeheartedly recommend this clinic. My whole household is cared for here for a broad range of dermatology needs. Dr. Knight and all of the patient care staff are thorough and never hurried. The office staff is very knowledgeable and warm. I only wish I had found this clinic sooner before some very negative experiences with several other dermatology options in Lakeland.

I had a good experience here, From my first encounter with Dana the receptionist to (ARNP) Hillary, and Dawn the assistant. They are so down to earth and customer service friendly. There was no wait time and I was in and out for my procedure. They made me feel as comfortable as possible. Ms. Dawn even let me squeeze her hand
