Worst experience! To start off, the reason this review earns a 2-star rather than a 1 is because Dr. Coker is actually ok. But thats only if you are one of the chosen people that are able to get through to see her. Mark, the receptionist has absolutely zero respect for any one of Dr. Cokers patients. His whole goal in life is to find every possible way to not allow you to pass his domain. He sees not allowing you to have your appointment as a personal success and he does so in a variety of ways. The first - his personal hygiene. You are immediately confronted with a powerful odor as you walk in the door. Your olfactory senses are brutally assaulted as you realize the smell is coming from the unkempt, man glaring at you from behind the desk. But you are a champion and you will not be beaten so easily. As you gag your way to the desk, his manner becomes both tense and defensive. His first thoughts are how can I make this person fail. As other reviewers mention here, if you do not have the right documents, you may as well leave and never come back, because thats one of two strikes allowed before they ban you. Yes, they will BAN you! This list of bannable offenses is nearly as long at the Obamacare directive, but a few highlights are: cancel an appointment less than 7 days in advance, show up more 5 minutes late to an appointment, did not bring the plastic insurance card but a paper copy instead, if your name starts with K, N or J (ok that last one I made up but you get the idea). I however am a stickler for detail in both preparedness and time. And so successfully maneuver through all of his traps, and find my way into the exam room. SUCCESS! After the exam, I expect to wait a week for the results to come in. I receive a call, and schedule another appointment to review my results. I repeatedly ask and confirm the time as well as save it to my calendar. They day of my follow-up comes and I show up to speak with my doctor about my results. Mark has glowing eyes and a slight smirk as he triumphantly states that my appointment was a different time and that I now have a strike, he gleefully asks if I would like to schedule another time, itching to get this ban going. Essentially, he intentionally sabotages Dr. Cokers patients that he doesnt like. Let that sink in... Think Gandalf "You shall not pass!" Think Ray Lewis on a goal line stand Think soup nazi "No soup for you!" In many ways I believe Dr. Coker found this pitiful soul begging under the 95 overpass and took pity on him. For Dr. Coker practices sake I pray she finds a reasonable alternative soon before her practice vanishes. I have since found a much better office. Good luck!

My experience at this practice has been nothing but exceptional. As I read the reviews given by other people in the recent past, I was compelled to write a review about my experience. When you contact this office either by phone or through zocdoc, it is well specified that you need to bring in your plastic insurance ID as well as your personal ID. They also advise you, before confirming the appointment, of all of the rules and requirements they have for new patients so that you have the choice to confirm your appointment or not. The important thing to consider is that this practice is a serious business and they dont like wasting their time or yours, which is the main reason I selected her as my primary doctor. Since I work in Brickell, I was looking for a primary doctor who would be close by and wont interfere with my working schedule. For some people who are unable to make it on time it might be an inconvenience to have their appointment cancelled if they are not on time. For me, its one of the best things about this practice. I only have limited amount of time to go to my appointments so I need to make sure that Im taking care of at the time that I scheduled my appointment and not have to wait 30 minutes or more to be seen by my doctor because he/she is running late with other patients, which is the typical scenario at most practices or clinics. She makes an hour available for each of her patients allowing her to really take her time to answer all your questions and your health concerns. She does not rush and to me thats very valuable considering how expensive medical plans are today. I suggest to those that have the tendency to not make it on time or to follow direction to find a clinic or practice with the same tendencies. If you are organized, on time and have respect for your time and others, then this is the place to go.

I did not bring my "plastic" insurance card rather a print out of the card since I recently moved and did not get a plastic card mailed to the right place. Not only would they NOT see me because of the card I brought printed directly from my insurance carriers website wasnt plastic but they effectively "canceled" my appointment and will refuse to see me in the future at all because the appointment was technically cancelled the same day. Meaning Im now effectively banned from the place. Who do these people think they are? Mark the front desk attendant lacks serious customer service skills and any form of empathy towards patients. I have spoken to many people about my experience and everyone finds it ridiculous, even those in the medical field. Im glad I know how they do business before doing anything and would highly advise people to stay away from this place. Will file complaint with United Healthcare since Ive heard of similar complaints speaking with others.- The response posted to my review below clearly shows you mentality of the staff. They feel they are above their patients and would rather snub a customer than do whats right. In the end Im happy for how it turned out since this place doesnt deserve my business and can keep its family to itself.

After being a patient for about 4 years...I was told by the "senior partner" (Mr. Marchello) that I was to be released as a patient if I rescheduled. 3 reschedules in 4 years? Dr. Coker is a thorough & professional doctor but I decided I need to move on because of this unreasonable policy. My own schedule is erratic & hard to predict. I need a primary that understands that. What if I was a patient for 10 years and had to reschedule a 3rd time? Would I be "released"? I understand the office wanting to implement some structure but to be so unreasonable after being a patient for so long made me feel undervalued. My suggestion would be recycling the cancellation policy if patients meet certain criteria (3 years or more as a patient/customer). That would be reasonable along with making good business sense (cant imagine how may patients theyve lost). Needless to say, Im disappointed......... Especially in the "matter a fact" tone the senior partner spoke to me in. As if he could CARE LESS if they lost a patient (wondering if Dr. Coker knows that). Either way....I wish Dr. Coker luck & thank her for her services in the past 4 years.

Definitely you have to follow their rules to be satisfied with this practice. I did and I am happy with them. They just move to Brickell ave wich is perfect for me, now i can walk. The have more parking space and I like more this space. Mark has always been very nice to me, and of course Dr. Cocker. She is very professional and take the time. I like how she is the one that take care of You directly, in most clinics the nurse is the one that does it. Nothing wrong with nurses, but I like my doctor is the one asking the questions directly and not him/her reading in the computer something someone else asked. The best part is no wait, you be on time and they will be too. Im writing this review at the practice of an specialist, i have already 1 hour and a half waiting.
