Due to a family matter I had to leave my small maltese in a pet hotel for about 6 days while I was out of town. This is a pet that is with me all day long. My maltese only weighted 7 lbs, he was old but in perfect health. The Vet had done a physical every year and he had no sickness or any health issue, other than he was getting old. When I picked up my pet on Saturday, August 9th, I noticed that he wasnt the same, he didnt even bark when he saw me, and this was very unusual. On Sunday I called my Vet and the phone message refered me to this clinic. David, the person that answered (who by the way was very nice) said that small pets tend to dehydrate very easy, but he couldnt tell me what could be wrong without seeing him, he mentioned that I would get a 25% discount for been refer from my vet and that the visit was $84.00; I decided to bring him to the clinic . When I got there, David was not there, the lady/tech that was there asked me what was wrong. Not been a vetenerian or very verse in the medical field, I mentioned that it appears to me that my pet had stoped eating and was very weak. First thing she said was that the visit was $115, when I told her that David had quoted me $84.00 for been refered by my vets office, she said that he wasnt suppose to tell me that over the phone. REALLY?????Whats wrong with David mentioning that I would get a discount? It turn out that my pet had lost 2 Lbs in those 6 days. That explains why he was so weak. The vet at the clinic said that he couldnt tell me exactly what was wrong with him and that he would have to run numerous test that would cost me about $244. REALLY? Funny how my vet can tell what is wrong with the pet before he runs blood work or other test, but this vet couldnt see that the pet was weak from not eating, that he had lost approx 30% of his body weight probably because he was depress from not been around me? He couldnt have given my pet a B12 shot or something similar to help him get his strenght back? I brought him home, gave him some vitamins that were recommended by the Pet Shop and made him some chicken broth (without salt) with fresh herbs. He was so, so weak, he past away that same Sunday. I just cant believe that the vet at the clinic (who by the way looked like he was easily over 50 and should have had a bast experience) couldnt see what was wrong with my pet. How inhumane and in my opinion lack of care on this clinic for the lives of the little ones. My pet past away that Sunday, and I just felt I needed to make other pet owners aware of how this clinic operates. Reading the two past reviews you can tell that nothing positive had been said about this place. My small pet was a family member to me. PLEASE, PLEASE, if you love your pet, dont take him to this clinic. It appears that they are only out to see how much they can get away with charging you. Read my story here and you make your own conclusion.

I read the other reviews previous to mine. Frankly, some of them made me go back and check the name and address, just to make sure it was the same place Id gone to. I went to them last Tuesday with a poor stray cat that appeared slumped in my driveway. The poor thing was alert, but obviously ill and extremely weak. Upon entering and explaining the situation, I was asked if I was there to surrender the cat or seek treatment for it. So right off I was informed that they offered choices. I told the two techs I was working with that I wanted to at least give the animal a chance to survive, so I opted for a consult. I was then given a form to fill out, and informed that a check-up would cost $118. I believe the intent was to let me know up front what it would cost, because after I told them to go ahead, payment wasnt mentioned again until the end of my visit. I had a short wait, which I thought to be reasonable, as I could hear a dog being treated in another room. When the vet came, I found him to be friendly, courteous and professional. He thoroughly checked the cat out and gave me a preliminary diagnosis (acute liver problem, possibly poisoning). He then discussed treatment options, cost and prognosis. I never felt I was being manipulated towards spending a lot of money in treatment, quite the opposite. In so many words, the vet let me know that the cats chances werent good, and a lot of expense would be involved and probably wasted. So I opted for having the cat put to sleep. Only after this, and my visit being almost over, was payment for the visit brought up. I was favorably impressed by the professionalism, but much more so by the humane and human attitude of the vet and techs. They cared for the animal, and I wasnt treated as a patsy to be squeezed for as much money as could be gotten from me. Was it expensive? Yes, but considering its a 24 hr. emergency center, the charges were reasonable. Would I return? Yes. Would I recommend them? Definitely!

I took my poor dog at midnight because he bit a toad. The poison got him good and he was having seizures every two minutes. I called them before and spoke to a young man up front and told him the severity of his condition. He then explained the cost right away and at that point I didnt care and came in. I showed him my dog and he didnt have any sense of urgency. He told me that I have to pay up front and finish the application before anyone can see my dog. My dog was having a seizure on my arms and he told me before any doctor can see me that I would need to finish application. As soon as I rushed through the application he then told me it will be 10-15 minutes before a doctor sees me. At that moment my dogs gums were all white, his eyes were rolling up and down, he was stiff, and his jaws were locked. I didnt wait another moment and left and rushed my dog to the pet emergency room on 6394 S. Dixie Hwy. I called them before and they told me to rush the dog asap. As soon as I got there, not a minute to spare the doctor ran out, grabbed my dog, and rushed him to the back. I didnt have to finish my application and the doctor worked on my dog right away. She wasnt worried of any payments but worried for the life of my dog more. I couldnt believe my dog made it through and was walking and perfectly normal the very next day. If I waited those 15 minutes for the doctor my poor dog would have died. I cant believe the carelessness they had for an animal. This place wanted to charge me $915 and thank God I didnt pay it either. The pet emergency room only charged me $450 and my dog had to stay over the night. Never again will I ever take my dog to this place!
