I have been bringing my rescue dog here for 8 years. I brought her in last weekend to have her nails trimmed and a bath while there. They trimmed her nails, but did not bath her, even though they charged me for it. She came home with fleas. I spoke to them on Monday and told them. Tuesday they called me back asking me to bring her back in so they can bath her. I was also told that she has some dry skin on her lower back that they asked the vet to look at, but he was to busy. How is he to busy to spend a minute or two looking at a dog??? When I called back later in the week to schedule bringing her in and advised the lady of the situation, I was told they dont have time for her. My call was then disconnected. It could have been a dropped cell call. I called back and told the lady that after 8 years, due to this I will now be looking for a new vet. She did not seem to care. I decided to wait and calm down and them called them a few minutes after 5:00 and they are already closed. I left a message asking for a copy of her records so that I can have them to take to her new vet. In a situation like this, where you screwed up, you should make extra effort to make things right. not blow off the customer. We will see what happens when I go in to pick up her records this morning.

I first brought my 11 year old Chihuahua, Buddy to Dixie Animal Hospital last December because he was having trouble walking and appeared to be in pain. I was able to make an appointment right away despite the holidays and we were greeted by a friendly staff and a very clean facility. Dr. Rainey was so gentle with my little dog, and determined the cause of pain and treated him accordingly. We noticed a difference within hours and our beloved pet was walking and wagging his tail! He has needed additional treatments, all with the same success, and each time I have received a follow up phone call to check and see how Buddy is doing. I have NEVER received a follow up call from a vet! Dr. Rainey and his staff are compassionate and gentle to our pet and understand the emotions linked between pet and pet owner. They dont perform tests or procedures without due cause and explain treatment before administered. I have recommended them to anyone who has a pet and will continue to do so.

For the past 6 years, Ive been bringing my 2 dogs and 2 cats to Dixie Animal Hospital. They have received excellent and compassionate care from the 3 vets on staff. When my beloved, 12 year old English setter needed an operation for cancer., Dr. Rainey took great care of him, and saw that he got the expert treatment he needed, including the operation, overnight stay, and medicine. He also reassured me, when I was very distraught. The 3 vets consult with each other all of the time, and with specialists when needed. Dr. Pegelow saved this same dog when he had a huge infection on his leg. Dr. Kittrell operated on my dog, Dolly when she had a hernia. The staff is also very caring. The cost of treatment is very reasonable. Dixie is a great place to take your pets!

I brought my dog into the clinic for a second opinion, letting them know that we could not afford to pay lot of money to cure our dog if the problem was severe. Dr. Pegelow was aware of the situation he did a check up on our dog looked at the lab results and gave me some suggestions. He called to check up on our dog to see how she was doing. When I had problems I called the clinic and they got a prescription ready for me to pick up. Dr. Pegelow called me again to check up on our dogs condition and gave me some other helpful suggestions. This Clinic has been very caring, professional, detail oriented, clean, conscientious, and overall a GREAT place to take your animal. We have never had a vet call on our animals before. THEY ARE A GREAT ASSET TO OUR COMMUNITY!

This is the absolute best vet practice I have ever encountered. Staff always friendly and helpful. Full range of vet/experience. My dog, who visits there weekly, squeals and runs to see his "friends" inside the vet office. Great barometer for how well the pets are treated there! We all are human and may have bad days. I have never, ever been overcharged and the office is very helpful when extensive medical work is necessary, working with the patients. I would much rather deal with a vet practice that is diligent, and overly protective....as opposed to some who just want to board for money...with no (health) reagard for boarders. EXCELLENT EXCELLENT SERVICE AND VET/EXPERIENCE!!!!! Loveya Dixie Animal Family! Mr Pooh and family loooooove you!

I have been taking my babies to Dixie Animal Hospital for approximately 13 years now. Dr. Rainey is my HERO! The entire staff is amazing...Shay, Shannon, Pam, and all the others whos names escape me at the moment, sorry! Everyone is always ready, willing, and eager to accommodate me no matter how busy they are. Conan my dog (My Best Friend!!!) who is my LIFE! is almost 15 years old. I know he will not be around forever, but he has recently gone through some close calls with seizures, diarrhea, and a mouth infection that had him feeling awful! The Dixie Team stepped up and made my friend well again :-) I just want everyone there to know how very grateful I am for all that you have done for us. Thank you!!!

My girlfriend and I recently adopted a dog from the Miami-Dade Pet Adoption Center and we were recommended to the DAH as our first free vet visit. Our new puppy had some missing hair and we had a variety of concerns when meeting the vet. Our vet, Dr. Rainey, and his assistant, Liah, were warm and welcoming and informative. I felt as though my concerns were genuinely heard and they had personal interest in my pets welfare. Liah gave my dog peanut butter treats that she gobbled up! We have since bought some and use them at home to train. We are excited about our next vet visit!

I took my cat for flea treatment at the Old Cutler Animal Clinic and they were very indifferent and did not do a good job as my cat still had lots of fleas and the medicine they put on her neck did not work. Dixie Animal Hospital was a night and day difference to them. Its amazing how quality stands out over poor service and indifference. Everybody was very professional and showed a lot of love for the cats and dogs coming in. I could not be more happy. My cat is now free of fleas and so is my house. Thank you to all at the Dixie Animal Hospital.

"Dixie Hospital" Veterinarians provide consistent, high quality, professional, health care for our beloved friends. The medical staff is supported by a clinical team of assistants that are educated, trained, experienced and professionally supervised. The business office staff is professional and offers a wealth of information to the humans who accompany their patients. However, the warm chocolate chip cookies from the Doubletree Hotels are much better than the cookies from Dixie Animal Hospital.!!! Always appreciative, Annies human.
