Dr. Odland, you killed our dog Sammy by being negligent! EDIT AND REBUTTAL TO DR. ODLAND REPLY IS ON THE BOTTOM Early this year our 12 year old Schnauzer needed surgery. During this procedure Dr. Odland did not administer IV fluids. After talking to several other vets, we found out how important it was to administer IV fluids. We wish you would have at least offered this option to us. We asked you and assumed that you would do everything to make this procedure as safe as possible. The end result of your failure to administer IV Fluids was the loss of our sweet Sammy on June 2nd because of kidney failure. Sammy was a Prime candidate to receive the life saving IV fluids because: 1.)The University of Veterinary Medicine recommends, that any dog over the age of 7 years should get IV fluids,no matter how big or small the procedure may be. 2.) Sammy had a heart murmur 3.) Sammy had a stroke in 2011 4.) Sammy was allergic to his yearly vaccinations. You had to write the excuse letter for several years to the state so he could be exempted from receiving the yearly vaccination. Considering all of these facts you did a poor job concerning the safety and well being of our beloved dog Sammy. We hold you solely responsible for the death of our family member. This post is to raise awareness and inform other people,so they can ask the right questions before just simply trusting their vet to do the right thing. A longer and more detailed version of Sammys Story is on (Sammy Boylan) face book page. EDIT to your rebuttal: Your Google reply is about as superficial as the care you gave our dog Sammy ! On January 26 you did the surgery removing a rather larger cyst, you also did a blood test pre surgery, where his Uria Nitrogen is showing a very normal value of 30. We picked up Sammy the same day when he had the surgery. After we got home we noticed that he was drinking an enormous amount of water, he never drank that much in his life. We called your office asking why he is drinking so much, AJ you wife said this is normal because of the operation he is trying to flush out the toxins from the meds. On February 16th we came back to your office only 3 weeks after the surgery, still concerned because he still was drinking a lot. You then ordered a blood test which ended up showing an elevated value of his Uria Nitrogen of 38 you diagnosed Sammy with kidney decease. Meaning we had a healthy dog when we dropped him off and now only 3 weeks later because you FAILED to administer IV fluids our dog started having kidney problems. In early April we did another blood test were Sammy showed an Uria Nitrogen value of 102, severe kidney damage ! You then asked us to look for a different doctor (specialist) because you couldnt help. No sir this is not a natural part to blame someone like you want to call it. It is a fact, that you killed our dog by your gross negligence. Something as simple as IV fluids could have prevented the hurt and suffering our Sammy had to endure due to your carelessness. And the "specialty clinic" as you call it, was the emergency hospital where we had to rush Sammy at 1:30 AM in the morning !

Dr.odland is a disgusting human being and I just want everyone to know not to go to his facility. My first visit to his office with my dog was a simple check up on an open wound on her foot..he emplied immediately after a quick exam that it could be a tumor, nearly giving me a heart attack. He cleaned her foot and wrapped it.and said to come back in two days for a follow up.not to mention that foot wrap with coband and guauze was a $150 trip.I followed up and got it rewraped "5 minutes tops" Im leaving and I was not aware that I was in for another $50 dollars but when I asked I thought i was just getting charged for the wrap his receptionist went and asked him ..not even a second down the hall as I watched her ask him.he calls his tecks to come get my dog!!!in his words he says go get his dog shes staying with us until her owner can pay!!!in no words did I ever say I was not going to pay but for him to try to take my dog as ransom was disgusting!!I could not believe what I heard..I paid his ridiculous charge and took my dog out of there..he is nothing but a money hungry jerk..please take my advice this guy is a fraud.I love my dog more than anything and to have a so called medical professional try to hold her ransom over $50..Im speechless...I really hope this letter helps good people that are as in love with there animals as much as I am.this guy is just after your money not the health of your animal.

Post from Vicki G. You have posted the exact same review for two entirely different companies. VCA Oldsmar Animal Hospital AND Woodlands Animal Hospital. Although these two offices are very close to each other geographically THEY ARE TWO DIFFERENT PLACES! Youd best figure out who you are talking about before you post damaging reviews. Furthermore, freedom of religion means that I can talk about my beliefs ANYWHERE. You are yet another person who confuses acceptance with approval. I dont need to approval your ignorant t hate. But I need to accept that you have the freedom to spout it privately and publicly. See the difference? I have used Woodlands for my cats for 3 years. Never had to wait long and prices are very reasonable.

Dr. Odland of Woodlands Animal Hospital is the BEST VET EVER! I have been taking my Pups Buddy and Macy there for at least 4 years and He and his staff are wonderful. We moved about a year ago to Hudson, which is 45 minutes away and have tried other Vets that are closer to our new home. None compare so the Pups get to go for a 45 minute drive to Oldsmar and then back again, And it is worth every minute of the ride. I leave his office feeling he has given them the best treatment possible each and every time. He is honest, compassionate and knowledgeable. Love Him!!!!!!!!

All three of my dogs have been successfully treated by Dr. Odland. Also affordable without recommendations of unnecessary treatments. Thank you Dr. Odland!! Very pleasant staff as well. I used to work as a Vet Tech, and I can attest to the fact that Dr. Odland is an honest, caring, down-to-earth veterinarian. He doesnt charge for unnecessary things, is straight with you about your animals care, and tends to be considerably less expensive than many other area Vets.

We had a fantastic experience! Dr. Odland and his team were great with my big ole fur babies and helped me understand what was going on so I can better care for them. I got lots of tips and tricks without any scare tactics all for a very reasonable fee. Love them!!!

Dr. Odland is an experienced and well trained vet who will use that experience to give your pet great care without unneeded tests and/or over elaborate treatment methods to bloat the bill. He is honest and ethical. He lacks a crystal ball though but dont we all.
