Three visits with three different gliders with Mr Murphy was three too many visits @ $52+ apiece. He IS NOT informed upon SUGAR GLIDERS and misdiagnosed one of three we took to him. We were new owners of sugar gliders and was hoping on some guidance. We did euthanize that misdiagnosed animal within 2 weeks of visit due to his infected scent gland we inquired about during visit. Even when we requested a specific analysis of that animals scent gland under his chest as enlarged it was taken in jest. Neither did he note that this glider had a portion of his tail cut off when we asked how that would effect it. "Sometimes they fight or nibble it off during housing with others but hes fine. It wont effect him." Anyone and everyone KNOWS that a gliders tail is required for flight and balance. (that would explain the glider running into walls) That gliders tail was inoperable unlike that he suggested as normal. Albeit I am not the easiest person to get along with--I am conversational, engaging and mostly informed. #1. His staff and visitors HAVE to endure a noisy uncontrollable bird in the lobby used as a PR exhibit. #2 Nocturnal animals deserve the lights to be dimmed and off NOT beaming into their sensitive eyes. Common sense of any staff that treats such animals. #3 We had to wait two weeks for a 10 minute appointment during which we were concerned of the new gliders health effecting our original glider. We also waited 25 minutes PAST the appointment time and 10 minutes the second visit. #4. These animals are extremely sensitive to smells of others. The towel brought into the room for mine to rest on was not cleaned with vinegar etc to remove others smells more thoroughly. This stresses these creatures out considerably. #5. It seemed he was more interested in my lady than discussing the animal. He basically ignored my various requests (I attempted various subjects to see if he would engage ... he did NOT) My lady also INSISTED I write up this review as well btw. #6 We had to request a print out of our visit outlining our animals prognosis. There was no input on tails broken on two (not my original) that we received from a local breeder in Holiday that is rescuing gliders and reselling them injured and unhealthy. BOTH gliders we had to get rid of was from this person whom stated she used Murphy ALL the time. To wit: Tiny Toes Sugargliders in Holiday. But? he denied knowing such a person among his thousands of people named Lori that brought in sugar gliders from Holiday? He said, "there IS NO WAY TO REPORT AN UNLICENSED EXOTIC ANIMAL BREEDER." He was wrong and I suspect to ensure he keeps getting funds from that particular person whom has been reviewed numerous times upon the internet media. up negatively I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS VET FOR ANY EXOTIC ANIMALS OF THE SAME ORIGIN AS A SUGAR GLIDER. We paid over $170+- for three fecal exams. We also found that his diet recommendations to AVOID meal worms at all costs was grossly wrong. as well as other so-called seemingly uninformed opinions ... NOT KNOWN FACTS. I have no other knowledge of this individual otherwise. I would say he is more compassionate than the second VET I used; Mr Lassett at the North Bay Animal Hospital of which was totally inappropriate in the handling of an injured sugar glider I had in many areas and seemed to lack a higher degree of marsupial knowledge fitting for his position.

Monday morning 7/31 was emotional enough just dropping off my rescue (Shepherd/hound mix) Eleanor for her knee surgery. After 3 months of planning for the date, taking time out of my work week to be with her, borrowing baby gates and making sure the next 4 to 6 weeks will be possible in our lives.....it gets CANCELLED (After being confirmed the Friday before) Due to the fact Dr Murphy will be gone for 3 weeks after, he wants to be here for her postop. As much as I appreciate that, I find that out the same day. An hour after we drop her off. UNBELIEVABLE. I explain to Dr Murphy the schedule, my job, my LIFE. How am I supposed to reschedule this now? According to Dr Murphy the front desk schedules the surgery dates without really knowing all the details. Yes, Eleanor is a special case. Being a bigger dog with a luxating patella. THEY ALL KNEW THAT WITH THE FIRST INITIAL VISIT. Which calls for a different Dr. by the name of Dr. Burns. SHE should have been scheduled and wasnt. Being in business myself, no one is perfect and there are mistakes to be made. Trying to pass this surgery on to the following week like its that easy and not having any understanding of what we had to do for THIS week completely blows my mind. Not only am I out of income this week, I had to inconvenience MY CLIENTS to get this done. Now Im left with no surgery, not working, having to reschedule this AND worst of all popping Eleanors knee back in for her.... for God knows how long. Dr. Murphy BARELY had compassion for this mess. While asking him all these questions his response was, Im not really sure what you can do about your situation. Well, I didnt have a situation until you and your staffed messed the scheduling up. I was not charged for the blood work that they already did that morning. How nice of them. To sum this all up: Strike 1 - Receptionist and Doctors should be using the same calendar. How in the world do they operate if they dont know whos doing what? Strike 2 - No notification, e-mail, text, letter in mail, phone call to let me know ahead of time not to show up because Dr cant do surgery? Strike 3 - No backup Dr to do the job. Now, let me see if I can get her in instead of waiting for 3 weeks? Nothing to help? Strike 4 - 3 months of planning and now 3 more weeks because hes going away? We go thru alot with our 4 legged children and take time off of work and run around and the list goes on. I will be looking else where to avoid such problems

CRUEL AND INHUMANE!!! My brother, sister, and I took our rabbit here early in the morning to be neutered because the place we bought him hadnt done so, and he was getting severely backed up. The first thing we notice was the attitude problem from the secretary who opened up the doors. She displayed the " Im better than you" attitude. The second secretary came out and was hitting on my brother. Although there is nothing wrong with showing attraction to others, it is inappropriate in a work place and it is not okay to try and hook up with customers. The vet assistant who took our bun bun to the back was however a sweetheart. We left our rabbit for the surgery and picked him at 5pm later. Doctor Murphy had done the surgery and came in only for a few seconds. He had barely any eye contact, he was acting very nervous and seemed to want to get out asap. that was really odd. He did not give any antibiotics, rabbit cone or any information other than how to feed our rabbit. He did give us pain medication. We were told to watch him so he didnt chew on the surgery site, which we did. We looked at the incision site before we left and at the time it looked fine... until later that night. It was rapidly turning red and raw. We called emergency care and they told us to take him back in. The next morning we called them early and were told there is "no exotic vet was in today" and that there couldnt be anything done. After some begging and persuading they said they could see of the doctor could take a look. We took him back in and left him overnight as recommended although we were hesitant. Same rude secretaries except for the lady who took him in. The doctor was also sweet. She was empathetic to our situation. Much better than Dr. Murphy. At this point we havent slept in over 32 hours. The next day, My sister and brother went to pick him up while I stayed behind. I was texted later explaining that they were extremely pissed and that i would be told when they got back. I was explained that the secretary was immensely rude and treating them as if they were wasting theyre time. When they got the rabbit out of the clinic, he was freezing as if he had been in a freezer. He also seemed to be crying. He would run the the farthest corner of the cage and showed bewilderment and mortification. We think they abused him!! Please, if you read this, seriously consider taking your beloved pet there. They may have good reviews but something is not okay there!!
