My cat Bitty was having problems with her pads being cracked and bleeding and her nail beds being infected. I was taking her to another vet who wanted me to go to a specialist, I decided to get a second opinion and thankfully was able to get a hold of Animal Care Center of Pasco County and saw Dr. Reeves. He diagnosed her with lymphoplasmocytic podordermatitist/onchitis (laymans terms mushy paws), and has been working to get her condition under control for over a year now. I love the care and attention he gives to her and how he explains things to make sure I understand. He found a heart murmur about 6 months ago and took her off the steroids she was on and switched her to a less dangerous steroid. I would highly recommend this vet. I also had my cat Buggys teeth removed by them and by him personally and not only was it much cheaper (less than $1,000) than the original estimate given to me by Buggys normal vet (it was $2,800 and they wanted all his teeth removed), but Dr. Reeves didnt need to remove all his teeth and my baby boy got to come home with me later that afternoon. I would highly recommend them if you need a second opinion, getting dental surgery or are not satisfied with the care from the normal vet. -- I wanted to add that they were very kind to my husband and I as they let us say our goodbyes to Bitty, Dr. Reeves patiently answered my questions and then asked if I was ready. They let us leave without paying for the final bill knowing it was a bit too much to handle at particular moment. She will be cremated and come home in about a week. But I cannot thank him and the staff enough for the care of our little princess. -- Also not only did I get a card from the office, but I got flowers as well with condolences on the passing of Miss Bitty. I also took my newest addition in when she hurt her leg and he listened to me about my concerns of her leg as well as what appeared to be a perception problem. I would highly recommend taking pets to this vet. Updated 4/3/2014

This was my first appointment and experience with Animal Care of Pasco and I must say I was impressed. I really like how friendly everyone was. Efficient at the front desk also and not too long a wait. My vet was knowledgeable and made me feel at ease. She wasnt trying to push treatments I was not interested in putting an older dog through. But also informative and let me know about their Senior Evaluation, it wasnt called that but something like that, it is a wonderful overall examination with blood test and x-rays to give you the picture of the overall health of your elderly dog. I will be making an appointment for my Sadie to have that done. It was very reasonably priced also, for all you get. The x-rays are to check for cancer, which is very prevalent in her breed. So thank you for all being so wonderful, kind and informative to us on our first visit. We will be back! My first appointment was for something wrong with Sadies eye. The doctor figured it out no problem and prescribed and provided the medicine necessary to help her heal. The cost for appointment and evaluation with vet and medicine was $130, I think that was very fair. I got in the same day I called on a Monday! I think this is enough information for anyone to really consider bringing their pet here! I hope I will always be as happy as I am with my first visit. I will let you know.

We own a rare breed dog and our girl had a litter that was checked by the vet. The puppies sell for 2,000.00 and the vet asked if he could put us in touch with his friend who wanted one of the puppies. We talked to the friend and the friend said he was the vets best friend and wanted the puppy free. I was a little shocked that we got put in that position. We dont ask for free vet care yet we faced this? Make sure you have your paperwork showing your dog is up to date on their rabies shot or they wont see the dog without giving them the rabies shot so if you have a sick dog thats going to need medication, theyre going to have several medications pumped into them all at once. All studies Ive read have said thats not healthy for a dog. Why overload an already sick dog? Theres a vet by the name of Dr. Dodd and you can google her research about shots on the web. She is one of the leading authorities in the country and has devoted her career to keeping our dogs safe and healthy. She would say run dont walk away from the practice of this vet. Your dog may have had a rabies shot 2 weeks prior to seeing this vet however if you forget the paperwork or misplace it, your sick dog is really going to get dosed up with way too much for their system.

I love the doctor. The office staff or techs are horrible at customer service and not very knowledgeable. I took my cat there a few weeks ago. I took a stool sample in for a reason (so they didnt have to go in his butt). The girl was in the back talking about how her grandma texts like she is writing a letter and blah blah and a cook out. I heard everything. Then she comes back and was telling my cat shes sorry. I asked what did you do? She said I didnt know you brought in a stool sample. Where is the communication? I gave it to the front office person. Then I found a cat walking in middle of the road so I picked it up and brought it up. I called and wanted to get shots and find out info like his age and if he has been neutered. I said would I be able to just walk in? She said no we are booked until next week. I said where else can I go that would be open until 7-8. She said I cant recommend anywhere. I understand they want the business but when someone is trying to do the right thing and get a cat off the street try to squeeze them in 5-10 mins at the last apt or something. Or recommend some one who can actually help. I will go back ONLY for the doctor!! I wish he had a different clinic

Fantastic experience! I brought my first puppy in for a checkup and was amazed at how well the office was set up! The waiting room was large and divided nicely so each pet and their caregiver could choose a comfortable spot--to sit next to other dogs, or not. (I had previously experienced very tight waiting areas at the vet was less than pleased) There was no dog/cat smell, it was clean, with coffee and filtered water. Then the vet tech was able to easily calm down my excited puppy to take his vitals, and trim his nails for free with the checkup! She was also able to answer all of our questions from teething to normal vaccinations. Then, we were given a "puppy kit" that included further info about care and treatment with a toy for the pup! She also explained that if we needed help with training,(potty, teething) they have a trainer that can answer our questions for that too!! Next, Dr. Griffin warmly greeted us and asked us questions that we hadnt even considered about his daily habits. He took his time to answer any remaining questions and completed a thorough examination. Seriously the best vet experience ever!! Highly recommended!
