Dearest St. Francis Pet Care Center (& Resort) and Potential Clients: We just got our 2013 Cadillac back from the "shop," er, I mean St. Francis Pet Care Center & Resort. Our Cadillac is running better than ever before! Cadillac is a rambunctious Golden Retriever puppy whom we recently adopted. As parents of a new puppy, Mom and Dad are just a little worrisome about our "child." Working in the automotive industry for 25+ years, my wife and I travel extensively. Since your facility opened four or five years ago, it is so refreshing to bring our pets to St. Francis Pet Care Center & Resort. I have to always throw the "& Resort" part in there because your place always seems brand new and resort-like. Its spotless! And beautiful! And our pets love to go there. My wife and I always take a tour each time we visit. I dont really know why, because I know everything is there for whatever any animal could ever need. But we almost always find something new to be amazed at that you provide for pets. And not just for dogs and cats. It was cool speaking with another client while we were picking up Cadillac on Tuesday. That person told us that they drive all the way up from Tierra Verde in South St. Pete to leave their dogs and cats when going off on vacation. They told us of people who come from Tampa and Carrollwood over in Hillsborough County and even some people who come from Port Richey and Brooksville to the north. I guess good words about a place travel far and wide! Its one thing to have a great facility like St. Francis here in North Pinellas County. But what sets it apart are the people who work at St. Francis Pet Care Center & Resort. I know Im a pain because I call each and every day to check on my pets. The staff never hesitates to take my call and get me connected to the vet techs in the kennel areas. I love the "low-down" and "play-by-play" I was given about Cadillac and how he was bonding with his roommates next door this past week. Trust me when I say that he was hesitant the first time he went into a new place, but he really didnt want to leave when I came to pick him up. I cant thank the receptionist and check-in team who go through an extensive check list each time we visit. They remind us of any necessary vaccines that are coming due. They go over the smallest details, like eating schedules for each animal; play time; any medicines to be given and the timing; right on down to checking in all of the toys and bedding we bring. Thanks to the techs for not just sticking him in a kennel run or outside in a small fenced in enclosure. Seems someone took the time to teach Cadillac how to "sit" on command while he was with you. Boy am I thankful to whomever did this! I had joked coming in that he was always full of puppy energy and didnt listen when he was wound up. I said I wished I had taught him how to sit on command before bringing him in the first time. Well, hes now sitting on command, so THANK YOU to whomever took the time to play with him and teach him this important basic command! I could go on for days about your place and people. Let me just close by saying that if ever you need a recommendation, please have any clients call me or my wife and we would happily "re-pay" the wonderful treatment our pets get from St. Francis Pet Care Center & Resort with a great recommendation! Sincerely, Chris & JoAnn Smith Owners of Cadillac, Gizmo & Romeo (One Golden & Two Persians)

I need to say, our dog picks his own vets :) I can explain better: Our first experience was at Citrus Park Pet Smart and that place was a joke (the vet was actually afraid of our then 5 month old shiba inu). Anyways, from there we went to Citrus Park Animal hospital and our dog literally used to run from the car to get in. We were all happy until they got this new manager trying to oversell everything they had and made us feel that we were never spending enough on our dog. Well, after 5 years, that was time for a new vet. Thats when we came accross St Francis. We drove by several times and the place is always packed and well kept. We scheduled our first appointment for a Saturday so we could go the whole family (yes our pet is our most adored family member and everyone wants to be presente lol). The front receptionist made us feel very welcomed. They took us to visit the whole facility. Explain their options and procedures. After the tour, we had our appointment with Dr. Carlos Garcia. In a few minutes they (dr and nurses) were all seating on the floor helping my dog to feel welcome there. I just loved it! In a few minutes the first appointment was done, no dog muzzle, no crying. Just a curious dog being pampered by the whole staff. I didnt feel this an elitist vibe from anybody mentioned by other review. By the contrary, I felt that they really enjoy what they do. And let me tell you, if they didnt, dogs could feel it. My dog loves his new doc... and because of that, so do we :)

We have used St. Francis Pet Care Center for boarding several times. I was very nervous the first couple times because my dog is nervous and not friendly with strangers. The first time he stayed, he was scheduled to stay in a run. The staff noticed he was scared so they moved him into a suite where there would be less barking and noise for him. They told me about a certain staff member whom really bonded with Cooper and would sit with him and he would even get in her lap. This amazed me because he normally acts that way only with his immediate family. I was so relieved that he was comfortable and that he didnt scare any of his caregivers away. We have continued to board him there whenever we must go out of town. Its nice knowing that he is getting lots of individual attention and we can even add extra playtime, pool time or even freeze pops. We also have the option of having him bathed and his nails clipped before we pick him up. When I picked him up this last time I could see how comfortable he was with the groomer, Maryse, while we were talking. I use St. Francis Pet Care Center for boarding, grooming and veterinary care. I would not feel comfortable bringing my dogs anywhere else. Ive tried others and visited others and there is a world of difference. St. Francis offers you the whole package and the best quality. I wish to thank the staff for your patience, care and concern for Cooper. See you next time!

I used this vet as an emergency vet because our normal vet was closed due to the hurricane. I had to put my kitty down. Now mind you, they use the same cremation company that my normal vet uses. When we put down a pet, it normally costs us around $300 for everything, including cremation. This place price gouged during the hurricane and it ended up costing us $400. And then I found out that they didnt cremate my cat for 8 days. That upset me. And also, our payment didnt go all the way through. It only paid for a portion of it. So we asked if we could do a payment plan because my mom is on disability and doesnt have a lot of money. Not only did they say no, but they were holding my cats ashes HOSTAGE until everything was paid off. I went into an instant panic. We dont have that kind of money. Out of the $400 payment, we only had half left to pay. This cat is literally everything to me and was my therapy cat. And they refused to give him to me. I now have him but with NO thanks to them. They did nothing to help whatsoever. And now my family is in debt because of them. I will NEVER use this vet again.
