Davis is the Best! My husband and I recently moved to Pensacola with our cat Lincoln. Before having moved here, we noticed Lincoln had started to favor one of his hips, but we figured it was most likely a strain. Once we realized that the limp wasnt improving on its own we decided to take him to the vet. not knowing anyone to ask, I did a google searched and read reviews. Davis was the pet hospital with the most positive reviews and I felt safe to take him there. Dr. Ashley was extremely helpful, she noted that our cat was showing pain in his hip when she examined him, she gave us our options of giving him anti inflammatory, and some pain meds for a few days and monitoring for improvement, or getting x-rays done. She never pushed us to get our cat x rays. My husband and me wanted to do x-rays, but weren’t sure if we could afford them. Dr. Ashley had her tech give us a break down of cost for x-rays before we made a decision. This was really nice because x-rays can be very expensive. I felt the price was reasonable though, and for ease of our minds we chose to get the x-rays. Thank goodness we got the x-rays because our cat was in need of a fairly serious surgery. The ball socket of his hip had become strangulated and was dead, the bone was eating itself away! We could see this from his x-ray pictures, and it was apparent that he was in a lot of pain, since his hip was fractured. Dr. Ashley again went over our option with us, and explained the treatment for this would be a Femoral Head Ostectomy (FHO) surgery. We just so happened to walk into a vet hospital with a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon who works there! Dr. Montgomery, spent 4 extra years in school to specialize in Animal Orthopedic procedures. Dr. Ashley explained the procedure, and broke down the cost for us, she went over payment options, and let us know that if we chose to schedule the surgery with another vet hospital to save on cost she understood. Never once did I feel she was trying to pressure us to use their vet clinic though. I felt she gave us sound advice, and was trying to help us make a hard decision easier, since we are graduate school students and tight on money. My husband and I went home, did some research and found that Dr. Montgomery was who we would want doing the surgery on our cat. Not only was the surgery a huge success, I felt completely at peace with our decision to get our cat the FHO surgery after our consult with Dr. Montgomery. He also remembered me and my cat at our follow up visits, and I could tell he truly loves animals, and is passionate about his work. Our cat Lincoln is walking on this leg, and playing pain free (just two weeks after surgery he has showed increased use of this leg without pain) because of this vet hospital. We will continue taking our pets to them in the future, and I’d suggest anyone needing an orthopedic surgeon, or looking for a vet for their pet to use Davis.

I started using DAH once I saw they had a Groupon featured and a sign indicating free nail trims for established patients. I was using Safe Harbor Animal Hospital at the time and had a dog who had terrible incontinence. After multiple visits to SHAH, I decided to get a second opinion. I went in with my Groupon ready to be tapped and told them the issues my dog was having. Dr. Stephanie seemed to know exactly what was causing my dogs issue. After that, he had no more leaks. It was like he was cured. I decided to start transferring all 3 of my dogs care to DAH, which meant phasing out SH. I still have to go to SH to get heart worm pills for just one of my dogs, and after today of waiting 25 minutes for one pill at SH, among the lack of organization and the maze of waiting room benches to seat all of the many patients they have grown to have, I left without purchasing that pill. My husband stopped in to DAH yesterday for HW pills for the other dogs, and he spent 2 minutes there, one minute for the pill and another minute of them asking how our dogs are and saying things to him that makes us realize they dont have to try hard to remember our dogs. I love them for that. I couldnt be happier with DAH. My coworkers have all transferred vets and started coming to Davis. DAH offers free nail trims to pets, which also helps. Their prices seem lower than most other bigger hospitals. They CARE. They never act impatient or in a hurry. They all seem happy to be there. They remember my dogs! They make them seem so special. Yesterday, my husband was even greeted by my bosss dog, who is allowed to hang out with them at the front desk whenever shes being boarded. Our dogs are not just treated like patients. They are treated like family.

They are great for boarding, but their grooming services are ridiculous! My dog takes meds to help him during his grooming because he can be snappy due to poor experience at a previous groomer. The groomer has constantly told me that the only way she can groom my dog, is if he is put under conscious sedation. No other groomer has ever had to go through all that just to groom him. He is not a patient at Davis Pet Hospital so they want to charge me almost $200 for a new patient workup, then $80 for the sedation all on top of the $60 to have him washed and groomed. If the groomer cant handle a 10 lbs shipoo while hes under the influence of his prescribed medication that causes mild sedation, then they need to hire another groomer to help her out. They have one groomer on staff and she wants you to knock your dog out for a hair cut. We have already found a new place for boarding and a new groomer. Thanks for your previous services, but we will no longer be using your facility.

This is a terrible place in every aspect! The owner of this place is totally psychotic! Her name is April Ball. She is a nut job, she clearly hates her job. She is an evil witch, vindictive, and a LIAR. After a 1 1/2 hour drive a reach the clinic. Upon entering I knew I should have turned back and drove home. The facility is old, smelly and has a nasty moldy fountain in its waiting lobby. The Vet was very nice, professional and knowledgable. He told me he would not do the needed surgery because he would do more harm than good. I paid my bill of $350.00 and even made a near $100.00 to their referred charity. April Ball was peed off because she lost money for a very, very expensive surgery. No sooner, 4 hours, after I arrived home the owner, April Ball, began attacking me online! This was totally unacceptable! Please DO NOT TAKE YOUR BELOVED PETS TO DAVIS ANIMAL HOSPITAL, DRIVE PAST THIS HELL HOLE. April Ball only wants your money!

First of all, very professional on the phone. They were very patient, understanding, compassionate, and so professional! When I arrived with my pitbull they were so nice to him. He had a horrible pain in his ear. He was growling during the exam, but they kept their cool and was understanding of his pain. Another awesome thing is they worked with my budget!! We just got our dog from a family who had a hard time taking care of him due to finances and we were worried because of the possible expenses. Nope, they assured me they will work with me and they certainly did! They also told me about how I could save money using a groupon for his exam..saved me $25! Lastly, they explained everything about whats going on with him and what they wete going to do with him as far as a treatment plan. Couldnt dream of taking my new baby to a better place! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, Melissa and Dr. Ruby!!
