I LOVE Animal Hospital of Pensacola!! In July 2012, I welcomed two pups that were rescued in Afghanistan by soldiers stationed there. The soldiers were unable to adopt the pups themselves (a momma and her puppy) but wanted badly to get the pups to the USA through a rescue organization that I support. The pups had comforted and entertained the soldiers during their time in Afghanistan and they fell in love with them and could not send them outside the wire when they left to be starved or abused as a pet culture does not exist there. Fast forward a year, our girls, Siena and Olive, have acclimated to the USA well. Siena, the momma, who is approx 3 y/o, lived part of her life fending and protecting herself without vet care before the soldiers found her. Following her spay, there were symptoms that could not be explained and Dr. Angela Bentley kept researching the symptoms and ultimately diagnosed Siena with a cancer that is not often found in the USA. Seven weekly visits of chemo followed and Siena happily greeted her team for each treatment and to spend the night so she could have a quiet night away from our other pups and their instigation to play!! Each treatment day, one of the techs Siena had gotten familiar with would come greet her crouching down to her level and give her a good face rub, often it was Dr. Bentley who would come out. Following treatment, Dr. Bentley would call and let me know all went well and give me an update on changes to the tumor from the previous week. If I wanted to come see her that evening, the staff was most accommodating; however, leaving her was so hard I did not go often. The next day I would pick her up after work and she would be with someone at the clinic (behind the desk just lounging, with Dr. Bentley checking emails) unless there was an emergency to which I completely understood!! The attention given Siena when allowed is so appreciated that how could we not understand when that attention is needed for those pets far more in need. Siena was always happy to see me and GO HOME! But she was very agreeable during her seven weeks of treatment and to this day enjoys seeing her friends at the vet!! I can tell you how I feel about Animal Hospital of Pensacola but I think the best reviewer is Siena.....she is a pup that continues to struggle with memories of abuse endured while in Afghanistan but when she sees her Dr. Bentley, Siena makes a beeline for her with eyes bright and tail just a wagging, each and every time! Dr. B gets down on Sienas level, if not sitting with her on the floor. The two enjoy a little hello with some good ear rubs and gentle little kisses....you cant pull one over on Siena and her comfort at Animal Hospital of Pensacola is something I will not compromise. I was looking for a new vet when we adopted our A-stan girls as I wanted a clinic that got that my pets (of which I have had many, mostly rescues, in the 30+ years I have lived in Pensacola) are my FAMILY!! When Dr. Bentley greets my kids and we all sit on the floor discussing them, I believe she gets it......I trust Dr. B. implicitly and am very thankful for her and her team at Animal Hospital of Pensacola.

TL;DR Everyone who works there loves their job and will treat your fur kids with love and do their best to get them healthy. =========== My visit was about 2 months ago now, but it was such a great place I would feel bad not leaving a review for them. I took my Belgian Malinois puppy, her name is Zola, here for an emergency visit, and Dr. Millhouse and her staff were excellent with my little scared pup (I apologize for not remembering the names of the staff members). 1a. The visit began with a very sweet capable receptionist greeting Zola and making her a little less scared and walk onto the scale by herself for weight. 1b. When leaving, the same receptionist (who was just a rock star of an employee) asked if I minded her playing with Zola some, which was obviously a no brainer bc Malinois pups need all the social interaction they can get, and for a solid 20 minutes was just going through tricks with her that she knew and some she didnt which my pup loved the mental exercise. She said she has shepherds at home and is accustomed to this breed line, and it was a very positive experience for Zola working with someone else 2. The place is very clean and organized 3. The tech and nurse literally sat on the floor, and fed her snacks as well as played with toys they put out until she calmed down and felt more comfortable with them 4. It was admittedly a little bit knee jerk reaction having her seen and she was probably fine before I took her there, and Dr. Millhouse recognized that as the case, and kept everything simple, examined her thoroughly and played with her some, and recommended we dont do anything invasive or expensive, just some medicines to help her tummy and make sure she wasnt in need of big tests If I lived closer I would definitely be taking both of my pups here for their regular vet appointments.

My corgi managed to escape from our fenced yard BC of the neighbors side wasnt properly fixed. As we combed the neighborhoods behind our home we found a sign that stated found corgi with a number listed. They had taken her to the animal hospital. I left a message in a panic trying desperately to retrieve our pooch . Unfortunately the very was closed but returned my call upon opening. They were so sweet. When my pooch was brought in they gave her capstar, which is an immediate flea pill plus a bath since she was pretty filthy from escaping. When I came to pick her up, they asked for proper documentation that proved ownership. After all was said and done I asked what I owed for the care and meds. Absolutely nothing. Even though some of you may feel that I should owe nothing since I didnt authorize treatment, I just feel that it not even being an issue with me even offering to pay, very kind of the vet. I switched from Scenic Hill vet to the animal hospital after this kind gesture BC it showed me they cared. I brought my cat in who was having an allergic reaction with no appointment, no call just walked in and said can you help me, Im short on money until pay day but Im scared my cat is going to die. The techs calmed me down, assured me they wouldnt let that happen. They took him, doctored him and allowed me to make payments. I am very grateful for them. They are professional, kind and loving. I HIGHLY recommend them!

When we first got our pet from the pound we choose this vet due to their AHAA certification and their weekend hours. The vet service was great and we felt like we made the right decision. Then we started boarding our pet there when we went out of town. That is why I will never trust this place again. They mean well about your pets health but their business practice is far from perfect. The past two times I have gone to pick up my pets there have been surprise fees. I just picked them up today and found $58.50 more on my bill. I approved my two dogs for two nights with nail trims and a $41 vaccination for one of them. When I picked her up there was a surprise $28.50 exam fee and a $30 allergy shot. They did not say why she received this shot, just that she did. I guess she got sick. And I guess the office staff doesnt know how to work a phone to let the owner know that their bill will be higher than approved at drop off. Very shady practice if you ask me.
