I am hesitant to write a review because I have had nothing but great service over the last 28 years that I have been taking my animals here, I dont want to jinx it. Just as recently as yesterday, we brought an outside cat that has basically lived in the woods behind our house for 5 years. He came to us because he was sick. They took him in pretty fast, waived the office visit so he could get his 9-way along with his rabies. I had a dog that needed a knee replacement, that was done at Scenic Hills, no problems. I have a dog that had pancreatitis and he almost died, the vet stated that there was a possibility he might not make it thru the night, as I told the vet, he was in Gods hands and theirs, and they had been taking care of my animals for 25 years at that time. Very happy to say that the love of my life, Zeke, is still with us, though he did have another bout of it but we knew the signs and got him in and make sure he eats lowfat food, it cost but my dogs are worth it. Not to mention when he was a puppy(long story) I accidentally ran over his head and they took him right away, he had a busted eardrum. So with all this being said, I may have to wait to see the vet but I am ok with that. Are they perfect?, no., No doctor is. I just called in for flea meds and had a ton of questions about the cat we just brought in yesterday(my daughter took him, not me) Leah, who answered the phone, was patient and kind in answering them. I have had to put down 4 of my animals thru the years, I always get a sympathy card from them. This is and has been my experience at Scenic Hills.

The prices are lower than most places but youll get what you pay for. Myself and another lady rescued three kittens off the street and took them here to be dewormed, flea meds, and checked on for any issues - they were given a clean bill of health and a round of antibiotics to be safe. We didnt know much about feline health but one of the kitties got very sick. When we took him back to the vet they said he had feline leukemia and had to be put down. The other two kitties tested negative. Two weeks later one of the kitties developed paralysis and the vet now said she probably did have feline leukemia (brain tumor) and that the test can be negative for up to 6 months from contact! This was horrible news because she had been integrated with another cat! (The vet knew we were integrating the kitties with other cats but didnt tell us the possibilities the test could be negative). One kitten remains and appears healthy but Ill be taking her elsewhere. Furthermore, the clinic never knows who I am or why Im there when they look up my information despite making appointments at their recommendation (I.e. second round of vaccines). There is no continuity between staff and I feel that they were negligent and put other animals at risk. At a walk-in Saturday I waited just under two hours to be seen.

I come to this vet because it is SO CLOSE to me and I usually dont have problems. HOWEVER, they need to make their...younger girls listen better on phone calls, I have had several mis-hearings, etc and I am a very CLEAR person. Last week I called to make an appt to get my cat fixed. I was informed that she needed certain vaccines so I asked her to make that appt that Saturday and her fixing appt for the following. I called today because I didnt receieve my phone-verifier that they do. The lady informed me that not only was no appt made, BUT THEY CANT FIX HER FOR ALMOST A MONTH. So the lady I previously spoke to, didnt make me an appt, didnt TELL me that it would be so long, etc. I could have pressed ber and asked again at the end of the phone call but consdiering I ALREADY STATED I wanted a fixing appt and she side tracked me with shot appt...long story short-LISTEN AND VERIFY. Also they are not communicating between each other because I had to explain the situation to 3 different CHILDREN to get the appt made. Ever heard of screening a call? Vets are always great and reliable tho. Just need better listening and more attentive desk people.

My dog had parvo and I am disibled and didnt get paid till the next day, the vet cares more about money than saving animals, the are paper chasers!!!! Wanted a 500. $ deposit before my baby could of had any kind of treatment..plus I got there at 6:30 in the morning and they knew how sick she was and was told that after 10:00 am,I had to rush her to safe Harbor vet, which took her right in as soon as we got there started her on IV, and treatments, and I didnt have to put nothing down, she had to stay a week, put me on a payment plan, and GAVE ME DONATED MEDS I DIDNT HAVE TO PAY FOR..thank God for Safe Harbor, shes alive and well, this place would of let her die.....plus they took out two of my moms dogs eyes that didnt need to be done, and tried to do another ones Eye and my mom said no went to safe Harbor and all it was ,was a scratch on his eye...so they lied about the other two got paid a hefty amount of money and the poor two dogs had to go through life with one eye....i wouldnt take a turd there!!!!!!

I have used Scenic Hills for years without any major incidents. I have 2 cats that I took in after they were adopted for the vet to get a look at them as a baseline just like people do when getting a new Dr. Yes, the wait is sometimes past the appointment time just like the people Dr.s but they take time to explain everything to you. Most of the extra time that you are delayed are due to things being done that was not told to the person making the appointment. On one of the reviews stated that the vet missed the vein and caused a bruise so they are changing Dr.s. Nurses, Paramedics & Phelebotomist miss a vein in humans every now & then that have larger veins than "Little" dogs but I am not going to change Dr.s because of it. Great Service as far as I am concerned! Maybe they could have volunteers help answer the phones and make appointments so the staff doesnt get flustered by the customers coming in complaining without a appointment then answering the phone or talking with the next customer.

Have used Scenic Hills for years. We even used to travel back to them from Tallahassee with our pets whenever possible while living there. The doctors are amazing (from treating dogs to exotics) and the prices are unbeatable. On the back end, the support staff seems so knowledgeable and engaging, but it appears some or all of them are also given the task of managing the front-end administratively. This has always been a nightmare and has only become worse over the years. Appointment-waits are completely out of hand, and the desk staff has such poor customer service skills that I swear Im never coming back every time I leave ... but I do. If they would give up the desk to a well trained clerical staff and let the veterinary support staff do what they love and stick to animals, this place would be perfect. Although, then we may be paying the high prices we pay everywhere else.
