DO NOT LET YOUR LOVED ONES GET TREATED HERE UNLESS YOU HAVE FUNERAL PLANS IN ORDER. Unfortunately a zero or negative star rating can not be applied, and I feel "hated it" does not fully encompass the concerns I have with this organization. While most medical facilities function on the rules of proper care, professionalism, and pride, Kindred seems to be working on an inverted agenda. While I met a few nurses and assistants that were competent and showed empathy for the patients, the vast majority are under-qualified, ill-mannered, and downright ignorant. My father was tranferred there after receiving innumerable surgeries involving a faulty heart valve and had my Mother not been so involved with his recovery, he may have just as well signed his death warrant. In his nearly 3 months at Kindred, he received more infections and bed-sores than he had the previous 6 months in the ICU at both JMC and PBGMC combined, all with no record. He was left multiple times for up to 2 hours laying in his own feces and urine, constantly pressing the call button. They issued the wrong medications at improper intervals and on more than one occasion delayed his meal or didnt bring it at all. This "hospital" is a major lawsuit just waiting to happen and I would definitely recommend reconsidering before allowing yourself or a loved one to be checked in to this complete scam. They purposely ride you until the insurance runs out and make every attempt to keep you from being discharged. We all know theres no money in a cure, only treatment, but this is a ridiculous lie. I can count on one hand the number of employees who took the Hippocratic Oath without crossing their fingers.

My family member was admitted into kindred without infection, however that soon changed. He ended up with MRSA in one eye and in his leg wounds that were healing before kindred. They would not administer the only medicine to cure the eye infection, so he had a friend (who is a doctor) prescribe the correct medicine and fill it at an outside pharmacy and the nurses could not facilitate the drugs because it was an outside medicine. He was moved to Gardens Court and the infection that was almost 2 months old and getting worse was cured in 2 weeks. UNLESS YOU WANT TO STAY SICK OR GET HORRIBLE HELP, RUN FROM THIS PLACE LIKE ITS ON FIRE! Half of the floor he was on for 1.5 months was closed down the whole stay, then the last two weeks he was on the only other patient floor when they closed his floor. Physical therapy here is stretchy bands wed bought him and some therapistwho only bothered him when he was awake. They did not care about rehabilitating him. The food was horrible and would be left on the table for later if he was a asleep. Gardens court off PGA is a wonderful place and has my family member taken care of so well thats hes in better health than we ever thought hed be in while at kindred. He has quality of life now. Oh and you will be billed by doctors that say they saw you every day, but all they do is look at charts from their desk and Bill you. DONT PUT YOUR FAMILY MEMBER HERE

Lets face it -- health care just isnt what it used to be, no excuse just a reality. I am a former employee of it and have family members whose combined experience is over 100 years -- they are among the small majority still trying to make the experience for the patient and family a pleasant one. Ive found a great majority of the staff at Kindred doing the best they can, to provide satisfactory care for their patients. Its not possible to find perfection in any place, Kindred is striving to be. I wrote this because the great should not suffer for the few not so great. I give them an over all 5-star --- not because of perfection, but because our great has outweighed the not so great. My Mothers care by the staff (most especially ICU, 2nd and 4th floors) has been superb. "Sam" in Admissions has not treated my mom or family as just another number, but with concern and compassion. Periodically she comes by to make sure we are doing okay or just to say hi. Whenever there has been any sort of issue, it was addressed immediately and rectified to my families satisfaction. Staff of Kindred, just keep up the great work! God sees and God knows!!! A billion thanks from the Andrews Family!!

My mom was transferred there from Jupiter Medical Center without us knowing why. I live in Ill and call her everyday and when she went to Kindred I could not call at all. Found out she didnt have a phone in her room. Id call the nurses desk and there was never anyone there. The lady at the switchboard finally had a phone put in for me. They did not take care of mom at all. Told me they only gave her two pills at bedtime and she said sometimes there were almost ten pills in her cup. The physical therapy was a joke and she would order soft food because her mouth got real sore and they didnt bring it to her . . . they brought fried chicken and ect. I would not allow anyone in my family to go there, its not safe. After she got back to St Josephs there were people from Kindred who came to her room insisting she sign papers for more of their "therapy." She made them leave after two visits. I would not take anyone to Kindred.

The one star I am forced to give will be for the therapy ladies that cared. WHEN they were able to see my family member on the rare occasion that she wasnt OVER-MEDICATED. They placed her in restraints, without telling the family, to avoid doing their job. She sat in PEE and FECES for over an hour on MANY occasions. Every time I came to visit (at least twice a day) she was not in a clean bed. Nurses took at least 45 minutes to respond to call bell and it is IMPOSSIBLE to find your nurse...ever. Doctors or head administration dont do ANYTHING. The facility was loud and alarms were going off 24/7. I could go on forever about the HORRENDOUS quality of this hospital. It is indeed very sad and if patients dont have family members there (to get them out and to a different facility) the staff will sit by letting the patients die without dignity. Do not send a love one here, I beg of you.

If I could give it zero stars, I would...however, it is required on here that I give it atleast one star. Pretty much the only good thing about this place is the food, and the only two people who were actually nice were Tessy at the front desk, and Jay one of the RNs. My grandfather was admitted into this hospital because we had no other choice considering the conditions he had. He broke his neck and was pretty much unable to do anything on his own. He pressed the assistance button, and they didnt come in to see what he needed for nearly an hour. When I asked for assistance, they dismissed me saying "we cant always come to his immediate attention." ...Im sorry, but THATS YOUR JOB. Thankfully, we were able to switch him to a better hospital. Please if you have any choice, DO NOT choose this hospital.
