I have a lot to say about this place. I purposefully went far out of my way because this hospital had the best reviews and I wanted to go somewhere I would be taken seriously because Ive seen doctors and nobody can figure out why I havent been well. I never saw a doctor during my stay there, they treated me like I had absolutely nothing wrong before doing any tests and the staff was terrible. People dont go to the hospital because they want to, they go because something is wrong with them, they want to feel better, be taken seriously and most people are nervous or scared because they are out of their comfort zone on top of being hurt or ill. The Charge Nurse, Kellie, was rude, dismissive and did not show an ounce of compassion. Intake was fast, but highly unorganized. The person I had the biggest problem with was my nurse, Irina. She refused to listen to important information regarding my symptoms. She saw that I had something on Google I was looking at and told me that "Google is not a doctor and I am looking too deeply into my symptoms." This is my health and I take that very seriously, as a HOSPITAL SHOULD. When I explained what I thought might be wrong, since they werent helping, she told me I would have to go see a specialist. Again, I was in the hospital. If I needed to see a specialist, didnt I go to the right place? Not only that, after practically begging for blood work, she put a catheter in my arm and didnt even notice my blood just pouring out of it because it wasnt closed. Considering weakness for a long period of time was a symptom, that probably wasnt good for me. Well, I never saw a doctor, so Google actually served me better than this hospital and Google isnt going to bill me a ridiculous amount of money for nothing. I have one good thing to say about this place. Natalie Brady was the one and only decent human being I encountered in this hospital. She showed her compassion, took my medical concerns seriously and actually listened, unlike any other employee that I saw. She was the only person who gave me answers, compassion and professionalism. She is the ONLY person I would like to thank for her dedication and care. Otherwise, go somewhere else if you want your health to be taken seriously.

Horrible experience, I was discharged prior to being told what was wrong. I got worse and they continued to give me medications I was already prescribed and took prior to going to the ER, because they didnt work. The nurse practitioner was fully aware of my numerous health issues and chose to ignore the notes in my file about my health issues. A nurse discharged me. I had to remove my own IV because everyone else was to busy..... They were talking, telling jokes and cursing with eachother having a great old time while I was crying in my room so I left. They then tried to get me to come back in so they could tell me what was wrong at which point the nurse practitioner told me she felt like I was attacking her. She must have been emotionally unstable due to her pregnancy because she had no idea what she was doing. If I could give negative stars I would. NEVER EVER go here during the night shift and if you do demand to see an actual doctor. Every day time experience has been great. I have never seen such incompetence and I worked in the medical field for years, as I did tonight! Blonde pregnant nurse practitioner appears to have no actual intelligence or experience dealing with patients with a multitude of health issues. (I am blonde and she gives all blondes a bad rep). I reported the improper practices to the head of the ER.... Supposedly they will launch an investigation. Ill find out tomorrow what they plan to do. As for me, the head of the ER recommended I go back to the hospital. I would rather suffer than go back there tonight. Emotionally unstable people should NOT work in a hospital, especially an ER. I was born in this hospital and I have never in my life had an experience like this. All I can say is they better pray that my heart condition doesnt get worse tonight because that would be a law suit in the making. Dr McFarland would NEVER let something like this happen on his shift!

4.5 stars : After a rough start in the I.c.u. after the stents procedure, I spent almost two months in the hospital. Before the mitral heart valve repair was completed by the amazing, caring, humble Dr Katz, myriad tests were performed by competent, always cheerful, and thoughtfully efficient techs. The smiles were generously given, even at 5 a.m.! But the core of the abundant great care was given by the OUTSTANDING nurses I was blessed with in the ICU rooms, the telemetry floors, and back again to intensive care. Too many angels of mercy to mention here, but who ARE named in letter to CEO. The thoughtful extra human touches. Washing my hair, going out of their way to hand deliver thoughtful necessities, making me laugh when it hurt to breathe, galvanizing helpers to help with a situation out of my control... I cannot express how deeply grateful I am for all of their yes loving humanity. Thank you from the bottom of my now much better heart!! To All of the doctors and nurses and orderlies keeping the rooms clean, tidy, and well supplied. God willing, I wont be back any time soon, but if there are any further problems, I hope to land there. God Bless you all.

My husband had major open heart surgery at PBG in 2015. The head surgeon was recommended to us and at the last minute he said he couldnt do it because of a fundraising matter he had to attend and be "honored" at. The replacement surgeon was good but never, ever called or followed up after we left the hospital. The ICU was horrendous and we have spent months in ICUs around the state so have many to compare this experience to - staff was rude and not responsive. Visiting hours were ridiculously limited - I would drive 40 minutes to get there and be told I missed the time by a few minutes and couldnt go in - he was on a ventilator and in serious condition and they had to follow the rules? Yet, medical staff gave information to my sister without even asking for a health care surrogate form. Just recently we found out that they billed MY health insurance (BCBS) instead of my husbands (Medicare A & BCBS) because BCBS wont pay a bill for me with a doctor I went to during the period of his stay because they say I was an inpatient at PBGMC. I could go on and on but wont - just would NEVER recommend this hospital to anyone.

This is simply the best hospital/medical institution Ive come across in 57 years on the planet. Because of family health issues, over the years Ive gotten to know hospitals from Miami to Martin County all too well. The staff here is exemplary, from top to bottom. Nurses and doctors come find you! In most health care institutions you spend a good deal of time and energy trying to track down medical staff to find out whats going. Here, as soon as they hear you are in the room with your loved one, they come in with a status update. Everyone weve encountered -- well over a dozen people so far -- is warm, caring and refreshingly attentive. Even better, the staff here is HAPPY. You dont realize how far that goes with patient care and interaction until your loved one has been stuck in a hospital where everyone is miserable. That sense of camaraderie is communicated directly to the patients and their families. Whoever set the priorities here did it right. Maybe it starts with hiring or maybe it starts with their emphasis on communication -- whatever it is, Palm Beach Gardens Medical stands way above the others.
