The Coast Dental office in southern Hillsboro county Tampa area is the worst dental office I have ever been to. I gave them the benefit of doubt as I have had poor services from medical offices before. Firstly, the receptionist tried to get me to sign up for financing (suspect one), of course I have insurance and was mildly alarmed. I went in for a simple regular periodic cleaning and a filling that was chipped. The Dr. A..... after reviewing the x rays (also wish to charge me $18 for an x ray copy for my med files - they were fearing I would take it to another dentist claimed the receptionist) told me flatly he will not fix my chip tooth as I needed 2 crowns totaling almost $1,000.00! I told him only need the services I scheduled for a regular cleaning (covered by insurance) and to fix a chiped tooth supposedly $70 to repair. Pending the quality of their office I might have considered it later. Dr. A..... repeated angrily, "I WILL NOT DO IT SIR, YOU NEED CROWNS, I AM NOT JUST OUT OF DENTAL SCHOOL!" I was appalled at his ATTITUDE AND TONE, the look on the Dr A.....face was that of hate and as if he was demented! The hungry little medical office charged me $70 for a oral screening that is covered by my insurance. Meanwhile an assistant started spraying aerosol to help change the bad odor in the office, I suggested that she should wait until patients leave, but she continued anyway desperate to address the foul odor. The only people who should be visiting this office are the State of Florida authorities to do an inspection and to investigate for Medicare Fraud. I just wanted to get the hell out of the crummy old smelly office and run as soon as I paid the $100 bill for nothing.

I had a very unpleasant experience at Coast Dental just moments ago. I have been seeing another dentist in Sun City Center for a while. But throughout the summer hes only open four days a week and our schedules just clash for almost the entire rest of the summer. I needed what I considered a routine cleaning exam so due to the scheduling conflict I booked an appointment for 10:30 in the morning with Coast Dental. And they didnt even see me until after 11:30. One hour after my scheduled appointment time is when they took me in. Mind you I explain to the receptionist when I made my appointment exactly what I was looking for and she never told me that I needed my previous dental history to get a routine cleaning. She never told me that I would have to get additional X-rays or have copies of my x-rays that were just performed in October of 2015. So one hour after my appointment time and one hour after they initially saw me as a total of 2 hours. I finally get to see a dentist for what I consider a routine cleaning and he tells me he cannot do a routine cleaning because he doesnt have my previous history. Well its Friday and my dentists office is closed on Friday which is another reason why our schedules conflict and for the rest of the summer. So now I have absolutely no way to get my dental records today. The staff was not friendly or polite. They apologized for the delay but they actually had no sympathy no true real Sympathy for the situation. 2 hours a waste of my time. So if you have half a day to wait for the dentist to see you go to Coast Dental. If youre a busy person and dont have two hours to waste dont go to Coast Dental. I was allored of myself an hour for this visit.

SCAM ARTISTS. Terrible experience. I should have run when they offered me a financing option in the waiting room. Technologist took a CRAPTON of misaligned batwing xrays (like, 15 or so) then, had to retake two of them. Technician was rough, most uncomfortable dental xrays Ive ever had. All the equipment was archaic. They did not bother to secure the lead apron around my neck so they exposed my thyroid to the radiation. Questionable glove sanity- technician dropped unexposed xray film on the ground, used gloved hand to open a cabinet and get a new one (at least they didnt use the one on the ground), and stuck all the germs from that cabinet handle in my mouth. Assistants gossiped repeatedly about my impacted canine tooth- very unprofessional- that all my previous dentists have told me it would be unlikely to actually cause problems. I had gone in for a cleaning at 3:30, xrays took over an HOUR. Doctor measured my "pocket depth," told me I needed a deep cleaning for $250 not covered by insurance. Bullshit. I also "need" two crowns for $360, one on a tooth with a slight chip, and the other on a tooth the doc said was PERFECTLY FINE, but would close my minor gap, despite the fact that I repeated said I was not concerned about my minor gap. I also need all 4 fully erupted wisdom teeth yanked, even though 3 previous dentists have told me they would be fine to leave for life. They didnt even clean my teeth. FOR THE LOVE OF DENTISTRY DO NOT GO HERE. SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM.

I abhor the dentist, I only go when its absolutely my last option. I hadnt been to the dentist in over 10 years and was getting pain on a tooth so I decided to go into the Ruskin location. The staff was friendly and the Dr. was really great. He explained all of my options to me and even alternate options since there was quite a bit I needed done he was able to come up with a treatment plan I could do in stages as I could afford and prioritized items that were more important. I had never gotten a crown done and he recommended it for a badly cracked tooth that had been previously filled, I was literally crying in his chair and he was very patient and went slow and continued to check to be sure I was doing OK. He did a fabulous job prepping the tooth and Yvon made a great little temp that I had no problems with for the 3 weeks. I returned to get my cleaning and permanent crown put on just 3 weeks later. I dont think my teeth have ever looked so good as they do after that cleaning, the hygentist there got off stains I have been looking at and trying to bleach for over a decade! He was also very gentle and kind and took great pride and care in his work. I next had the permanent crown fitted and placed by the Dr. and Yvon and it looks and feels fabulous! I am very happy I decided to go here and will be coming back to continue my work. This is a great little office and the staff really knows what they are doing!

I have had 2 very good experiences here at this office in Sun City Center/Ruskin so far. I knew going in that I needed some extensive work done and I was very nervous about this. Dr D is wonderful and the entire staff is friendly, professional, and kind. DR D has been very gentle when completing my dental work, which I greatly appreciate because of having a very small mouth and the nervousness I have about dental work. Jessica was great in helping me with financing to cover what my insurance doesnt. I highly recommend this office if you need dental work done. They show you up front an estimate of what you need to have done, and what the cost will be. Lets be honest, dental work is not cheap, but they will help you to get what you need to protect and preserve your teeth for life. Im very appreciative for the care I have received so far, and Im looking forward to getting my mouth healthy and protected again, after not having dental insurance for several years.
