The staff is horrible. Try dealing with the eligibility department and see what I mean. The ONLY staff worthy of praise is Vince. He truly CARES, treats every individual with respect, and hustles when he works. The others, especially DJ, are atrocious. I was barked at by staff as they sat around a table and refused to answer my pleas for help. Nobody had the initiative to get off her chair to help me. I literally was barked commands from an open door with a bunch of women behind it chatting away. I feel terrible for non-English speaking customers who great treatedly horribly simply due to a language barrier. I feel just as bad for African American customers who get treated poorly due to skin coloration. And, the younger crowd in need of service. Younger people, guaranteed, will bow down to what they are made to believe by staff are methods every organization uses to run a business (delivery of horribly rude treatment, disrespect, and the list goes from here to Egypt). The day this "establishments" doors get shut down is the day Sarasota rejoices and maybe, just maybe, gets a real establishment staffed by workers who do their jobs right, do so with an unbiased philosophy, and get off their butts to serve those responsible for their pay checks (customers).

I went to the eligibility department first. Make sure you have three or four hours to kill sitting there waiting for them to tell you that you need more stuff, bank statements, etc; came back with the rest of the papers and got an orange card. Next, since I need dental work and an x ray of my previously broken ankle, they gave me a referral for my xray which I need to bring other paperwork to qualify for at another clinic location. The people you see in the adult medical department are advanced registered nurse practitioners, not doctors. They can write prescriptions and refer you to other places. They referred me somewhere else for dental work also, which scheduels appointments months in separation between appointments. Since I am not paying for services, I am grateful even though this will be a process. The pharmacy never answered the phone when I called them ever, and never replied to the message I left them, gotta show up in person to talk to them at all.

I hate it! I can call 13x in a row and not everrrrrrrr get someone on the phone. Not ONCE has the phone ever been answered, and ive been pregnant for 7 months now! They are horrible their, rude and inconsiderate! The doctors wont explain or even try to make small talk. its in out pay bye! no one tries to actually help you they just wanna get you out of there. the wait is long and there is no control. i see diff. doctors all the time and they never give you results until you ask them for it. i took an hiv test feb. and was told about the results this month! (july) If you are pregnant , id recommend anyone to go anywhere else but here! find a doctor thatll give you one on one attention and will take time to talk to you.

god awful place that always smells of urine. You will have to prove youre poor to get free services, no exceptions. if you have a bank account you will need a bank statement that wont make them suspect that you have more money than you actually have. If you have insurance, you will need to know it quite well and be able to sign into your own insurance account. People make it sound like its easy, but if your situation is hard to explain and to prove, you probably should not waste your time here, but just go make some money to save up for whatever you need. In my case, Its a super expensive wisdom teeth extraction, that my insurance wont cover and my parents claim they cant afford.

NASTY place ever, starting with the employees plain rude and nasty. I dont understand why rude and nasty people that dont like to work with clients work in places like this. They take for ever to answer calls and you go in there and they are just talking to each other doing NOTHING. In pediatrics ALL people there are nasty starting with TRACY one of the workers in front desk she is plain NASTY and is no help at ALL. People if you dont like your job QUIT instead of treating people like crap your not working for free your getting paid.

The place is filthy and inefficient. Staff members are rude and have absolutely no concern for the patients. If you work full-time and cant afford to see doctor, the SCHD clinic will still charge you a full price for their services. The unemployed drug addicts, alcoholics, and mothers with 5+ off-springs are the only ones who get all the freebies. Not fair. Believe me, if you cant afford a doctor, find a private physician who is willing to work with you. For the same price, you will be treated with dignity and respect.

FortunatelyI have never had to visit this clinic (Im on Medicare and co insurance... that we pay ALOT for). After reading MOST of these reviews I have to say Sarasota county should be ashamed of themselves. Im in the medical field myself and it sounds like most of the"staff" should be working elsewhere. All theyre doing is collecting a paycheck. With the amount of waste and theft in our government ALL over the country including Washington DC...this is whats left over for the people. What a shame. smh

As for Dr. Rafi and his inconsiderate nurse, It will come around back to you. This was the worse ever Dr.s appointment I have ever encountered.The rudeness, from both the dr. and nurse, it was clear they did not want to be there. Perhaps a rough nite before.And just because some one is so called homeless, I guess they dont need any medical attention for anything.Just let them suffer.

Called at 8:01, just as they were beginning their day, and was very quickly given the info I needed. Arrived at 8:15 to office of Vital Statistics and was back in my car by 8:30 with the documents I needed. Ladies in the office were friendly, prompt and professional.

I only like my doctor and nurse but I agree with the other people like most doctors and nurses in there are cranky like and act like theyre too good to check you out why you are there in the first place and if you want to say anything to them they talk over you

Im definitely not one to complain as I work in the industry but the woman at the front desk was more miserable than I have ever been on my worst day. She denounced people as if they were not worthy of her "services." If you hate your job so much, quit.

Asked beforehand if I can treat my ADD here. Spent a lot of time going though eligibility and primary care only to find out that they do not prescribe medication here. Instead they wanted to get me on anti depressants! What a joke!

Always every helpful doctors, nurses, representative, staff etc. Just wanting the best for families! Very kind, courteous and understanding too everyone! Only minor at back is the wait :( but in the end they make up for it!

I just called on a Tuesday at 1:17pm for immunization information and was told they are closed from 11-3. How is that normal?? County health Dept closed for 4 hrs in middle of weekday? Ridiculous.
