EDIT: I changed my review from 1 star to 5 stars. For the background, read below. The staff automatically rescheduled my appointment for a week later and this time their system must have been working because I received multiple reminders via phone and text. Dr. Shearer was spectacular and her office staff was very kind as well. She is so warm and welcoming and obviously quite knowledgeable. I had a much better experience and had it been my first time there, I would have felt it was a 5 star experience, so I updated my review. MY ORIGINAL REVIEW: After waiting about 4 months to get my initial appointment (even after being put on a wait list for any cancellations) I showed up today to be turned away. My schedule said 10am, they claimed it was 8:45am, that they do not see new patients at 10am and that they could not fit me in. I explained that my calendar had 10am and I asked why I didnt get a courtesy call at all between 4 months ago and my appointment time. They said their system has been down for 2 days. I am devastated. I waited 4 months after my dermatologist advised me I might have a serious condition for which I should be seen. I have been anxious about this for 4 months, took time off and now I am stuck for who knows how long. I am sure Dr. Shearer is great- she came highly recommended to me by a couple friends. However, I left the office almost in tears today after months of waiting. Considering there wasnt another soul in the waiting room and they provided no courtesy call after 4 months, I feel they should have worked me into their day or provided me an alternate arrangement before I left. If they handle this well and actually do follow up with a phone call like they said they would and reschedule me immediately, I may consider changing my review. I will update as necessary.

Just went in for my first time today! Dr. Shearer and staff provided the best experience Ive ever had at a doctors office. First, they got me in two weeks ahead of my scheduled appointment, per my request, and were prompt, friendly and welcoming. Im usually a nervous wreck over any doctors visit -- but Dr. Shearers kind personality and attention put my worries at ease.

Dr. Shearer was recommended to me and I have called three times on different days and varying hours and noone ever answers the phone. I have left a message in each occasion and noone ever returned my call. Not acceptable! Do I have to show up to her office to make an appointment in person? Sheesh!

Dr Shearer is AMAZING! She is my familys MD. Her staff is always most helpful and Dr Shearer has a very bright spirit. The sound of her voice alone will give you hope! If youre considering seeing her, just do it!
