The worst decision i have ever made. My mother was feeling very sick and was showing signs of stroke or heart attack ( numb shoulder and hands. numb lips and her lips where purple , etc. ) . Now, these signs were very clear and by the way she looked, she needed immediate medical attention. we live about 20 mins from north fulton hospital and with the traffic it would take about 45 mins to get to the ER. So i decided to take here to this urgent care clinic, which was 2 mins. from my house. As soon as we got there the staff looked concerned and ready to see her, but as soon as i told them that she DID NOT have insurance , they changed their behavior immediately. As i filled her info down , the staff seemed more concerned about getting the money from us than taking a look at my mother. They kept asking me if i was going to be able to pay X amount, and i finally had enough and screamed to them that the price does not matter, i just wanted them to take a look at my mother. They immediately took my mom in as soon as i said i would be able to pay that. I know it sounds pretty bad already, but it got worse when we went in. To give you an idea, my mother was still in a lot of pain and was short of breath during these series of events. We went into their "ER kind of room and i clearly saw that the staff did not know what to do in these types of emergencies. To make it short , We sat in that room for 2 hours, while my mother was still in pain, before a doctor came to see her. Honestly, i dont think that "doctor" has any educational background in that field because after hours watiting(she was an african american lady about 5"3) , the "doctor" came in and did not know what my mother had or did not know what to do. She simply told us " Im going to call an ambulance" . So we paid 90+ dollars, risked my moms health, & waited 2 hours just so a "doctor" can come in and tell us that shes going to call 911? I am very disappointed and i really DO NOT recommend this clinic to anyone. please just go to the nearest hospital or to another urgent care but DO NOT go to this one. Now thank god my mother got better that day (no thanks to this clinic) .

As a Marine Corps wife, my family and I have moved many times, therefore, having many different doctors. This facility is the absolute cleanest and efficiently run doctors office I have ever experienced. I met Dr. Caruso by chance as I had an urgent care type matter and immediately knew that I wanted him to be my PCM. The wonderful thing about American Family Care is that they are an urgent care as well as a family practice. Dr. Caruso is, hands down, the best doctor I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. He is a wonderful listener and takes time to get to know you so he can best help you. He will go out of his way to help you in any way he can. My father needed stitches recently on his eyebrow bone going down to the outside of his eye. Dr. Carusos work was flawless. If you dont know what youre doing, that area can be tricky and will leave an ugly scar if not done properly. There is absolutely no evidence that my father even needed stitches at all! Im telling you, if I could, I would never leave American Family Care and Dr. Caruso. The nurses, techs, front desk staff and management are all helpful and patient and willing to go outo of their way to give you exceptional care. I urge you to use this wonderful place for any and all medical needs! Dr. Caruso is absolutely amazing!!!

I went in on Sunday 8/14 around 4:30. It wasnt busy so I was taken rather quickly. My throat had been hurting me for days and knew it wasnt from a cold so I thought to get it checked out, they took a throat culture for strep (negative) so told me it was viral and sent me on my way with bedrest and tea. Last night (Monday just a day later still felt terrible) went to another clinic that my insurance is no longer part of, but I didnt care. I was diagnosed with an ear infection and a throat infection (sort of related to strep, like a cousin to strep) I was immediately given a steroid shot and put on antibiotics for 10 days. I am already feeling better. So the $90 was well worth it and they even called me today to see how I was doing. Thank you Piedmont. Maybe American Family Care can take lessons from you. AFC is in my medical plan but I do not feel comfortable coming back to you again.

TOTAL WASTE OF TIME! Came to the doctor with a list of routine tests that I wanted to get accomplished. The doctor talked down to me when I discussed my concerns and refused to give me testing for aluminum and mercury levels. He did say that he would test me for an allergy to dairy that I believed I had and some routine bloodwork. The nurse was had to stick me twice for blood because he read the sheet wrong. I also was never tested for dairy allergy. I spent several phone calls getting a different answer each time when I called for my test results - when it came down to it they told me the test was ordered but they never completed it. They offered for me to come back, free of charge, to get stuck again and waste another hour of my precious time. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU WANT A COMPETENT FACILITY.

Took daughter in for ear ache, and doctor prescribed the wrong dosage of medication. 4 days later, still not better...pharmacy had called to check on her the medication. I explained that I thought maybe the dosage was too low. Pharmacist confirmed this. Called AFC back, spoke to rude doctor who completely disagreed with me. Long short of it, AFC finally called in an increased dosage but said it was to help my daughter out and had nothing to do with initial screw up. Will never go there again! Completely unprofessional. Refused to accept any responsibility.

The staff was great but the doctor - not so much. She put staples in a head gash without numbing the area - no antibiotics (other than the antibiotic cleaner used to clean out the blood). WTF. Doctor made the comment she hadnt used the staples before - hope she meant that brand - but the pain of getting staples with no numbing...VERY PAINFUL. The staff seemed confused by her requests and tried hard to cover by acting very professional. The facility was beautiful, very clean but seriously not good medical care.

Took my 13 year old son for a school required sports physical. The waiting room is large and super clean, the receptionist was friendly and helpful. My son was seen right away with no appointment (we arrived upon clinic opening on a weekday morning). The nurse and doctor were friendly and professional to both myself and my son and completed the required paperwork for school for us quickly. The process was so efficient that we even got to school before the bell rang!
