WORST PHYSICIAN EVER! I am recently relocated from Ohio to Tallahassee FL. In Ohio, I had a family physician with a relationship of almost 30 years. Among other things, I am a documented chronic pain sufferer from osteoarthritis in my knees. I am headed for surgery, but until I can afford that, I have been on disability and the doctor managed my pain. At first, I employed a nurse practitioner I met at my church. We parted our business relationship when my medicare insurance plan did not approve her for my care. She recommended Dr.Joy. The doctor does have a good bedside manner, but she refuses to address my most immediate need, which is managing my pain. In Ohio, the doctor prescribed generic percocet, an opiate pain killer. I am a 61 year old broad who didnt become addicted, as I ONLY used it to control my discomfort and stayed within legal parameters to avoid impropriety. The history is clearly documented and was sent to Dr. Joy. I did advise her that the nurse gave me tramadol and on the first visit, she did give me a limited quantity. When I was running out, I spoke with the doctor in person and subsequently have communicated with her office that I did run out and asked for help. She refuses. First, she said she did prescribe the legal limit for that drug, but the pharmacy confirmed that the written script was for half that much. I received authorization from my insurance to obtain more, but she still refused. Then she said that the doctor in Ohio didnt treat me with tramadol, so I repeated the name of the original nurse practitioner who did. Now, she says shes waiting on those records. The only medicare benefit I receive is help with medicine, and I can afford to have that refilled better than even buying OTC acetaminophen. I cannot afford a pain specialist or urgent care and any regular doctor is taking days and weeks to schedule. I dont have a car and rely on Dial-a-Ride for my transportation, so urgent care and emergency rooms are out of the question. I am left to suffer with no word or help from Dr. Joy Ablordeppey, who seems to not care ONE BIT. I am so disappointed and I am suffering greatly. If youre looking for a physician who will treat what you actually need and BELIEVE what you tell them, and if you dont want to suffer because some people engage in unethical and illegal behavior which you clearly have demonstrated that you dont, this is not your doctor. My guess is that she is only good for mild problems of healthy patients. Even her working hours are inconvenient. I am summarily disappointed. I gave her one star only because I couldnt give her ZERO! Just last week, I got a call from a "pain specialist".... A FULL MONTH AFTER I TRIED TO WORK WITH HER ON MY SEVERE PAIN ISSUE. Knowing that I need medication until I have my knees replaced, she had referred me to a clinic that did not offer medication. That would be fine if I was younger or had not been treated for severe osteoarthritis for two decades. No worried, however. I have already found a GOOD primary care doctor and my daughter and I have taken our business elsewhere. Oh, and today, we received a letter from her saying we need to find a different family physician.... Thats our Dr. Joy! A day late and millions of dollars short!

Dr Joy is courteous, professional, thorough and easy to communicate with Dr. Joy conducted my annual in April and her staff are the most responsive and persistent in the entire profession. I feel that Dr. Joy invests as much time with a patient as the patient needs and never minded waiting a few extra minutes to be seen again because I know she is thorough and detailed and she truly cares. Her office staff assisted me in faxing medical records that were required for my nursing school application and persisted until it was successful. Any other office you are left waiting with someone that is incapable of and unconcerned about resolving your concerns. I am thoroughly impressed with Dr. Joy! Caroline Fleur

I made an appointment at a specific time to see her in the morning, however, two hours later and I was still in the waiting room. When I finally was taken back it took another hour to see the doctor who then told me that I just need to give a sample and then she would write me a prescription. After giving the sample I then sat in the back for another fourty-five minutes hearing people walk by the door going in and out. While she is very sweet when she is dealing with you she seems to ignore you while you are waiting. I had to walk out and get a call from her later for the prescription since I had to get to work.

horrible horrible horrible stay away from this place appointment was at 10 am took 2 hours to see her and she did nothing.who gave her license to be a MD!!!!!!!!! I am disgusted with this place and i will be filling a medical claim with my insurance company. You have the right to voice your opinion to speak your mind, she will be hearing from lawyer........... revoke her license asap and shut this place down

Worst doctor ever! She misdiagnosed me, she said i had a sinus infection when i really had mono!!!! how do you get those two mixed up! she didnt even look me in the eye the first time i went and saw her! and she caused me to almost be hospitalized! Then she is expecting me to pay! She caused me so much hell! Don’t go to her! You will regret it!!!!!!!

I had to call at least three times to get the result of a test that was released to her related to sleep disorder, I felled like I was doing the secretary job as that I had to call both Home Patience and her office to why I didnt receive my results after three weeks.
