I thought this place was great. I saw Dr. David Helsing and he did a great job in explaining just about everything, so I understood the necessity of each procedure. I never really knew what the doctor was doing when they ask if A or B is better, but Dr. Helsing let me know he was testing for the correct power and once we found the appropriate power, he starting testing for astigmatism and how to correct it. Btw, my wife with the same insurance went to Lenscrafters, had an impersonal doctor perform her exam and then we were financially violated by their visit fees and contacts. My exam with Citrus Park Eyecare was 21% less expensive for the same exam (eyeglasses prescription plus toric lens fitting). And my fees were more expensive since I was a new patient, theyll be even lower next year. I could have added optical nerve mapping and other advanced eye disease detection at Citrus Park Eyecare and still paid less than she paid at Lenscrafters. Do yourself and your wallet a favor, skip the big box eye care stores and go to a local joint. I highly recommend this place.

In one word: PHENOMENAL!! From our first phone call to walking in the door - EVERY TEAM MEMBER of Citrus Park Eyecare is AWESOME!! We called first thing because my wifes eye was killing her. She thought she had something in it, and we couldnt flush it out with saline. The woman on the phone was awesome. She took some basic info, and told us to come in "immediately"!! The offices are beautiful and they were busy, but they took my wife in almost immediately. One very gracious team member took her hand and gently walked her back into an exam room!! VERY SWEET!! My wife says she "loves Dr. Matt", and shes coming back. So am I!! We were shocked to see the VERY FAIR emergency visit charge - no up-charges or anything! If we could give them 10 stars, we would!! Thank you to the entire Citrus Park Eyecare TEAM!! I think you should be called the Ci-TRUST Park Eyecare!!

I am new to Dr. D. Helsing and was disappointed when my insurance no longer covered my previous doctor of seven years. Within a few minutes of arriving at Dr. Helsings office I was impressed. The office staff were awesome and explained all my insurance benefits, then came the doctor. The doctor was very friendly and easy to talk to. He explained in detail EVERY procedure he did and why he did them. I learned about the tests and exactly what is being looked for such as clarity of your eyes, pressure within the eye, the optic nerve etc. He explained the needs for my corrective lens in a manner that I understood exactly what my options were. I am actually looking forward to next years exam!

I cant say enough good things about this office! Both doctors (father and son) are very personable and caring. They are down to earth guys who really take the time to get to know you and explain everything you need to know about your situation. Matthew was especially kind in waiting for me to bring my son in when he had an injury to his eye, even though he was supposed to be on his way to his other office that afternoon. He provided my son the care he needed and reassured us that he would heal quickly. I highly recommend Citrus Park Eye Care to anyone in northern Hillsborough county.

I recently went to Citrus Park Eyecare for a regular eye exam and new glasses was very impressed with how customer-centric they were. I didnt feel pressured to purchase contacts or glasses from them, but they were very honest, patient and willing to answer questions I had as I navigated what the best decisions were for me. They especially went above and beyond to help me select a pair of glasses. This is the third office Ive gone to in my 3 years in Tampa but will be sticking with them for as long as Im in the area.

I was at Citrus Park Eyecare on Wednesday 6/15/16, which was my second yearly visit. Everyone on staff are excellent and Dr. Matthew Helsing is the best. I recommend Citrus Park Eyecare to all my friends. I go here each year even though my Insurance plan is not accepted at this office. They have the best selection of frames of anywhere I have ever gone for eyeglasses.

I was having a problem with my left eye, so I told my wife lets go to the doctor right away. With no appointment Dr. Helsing saw me immediately. He explained everything to me in laymans terms so I was able to understand the problem. "Nothing serious," he said and I went home happy as a lark...Thanks to Dr. Helsing and his pleasant, courteous, and professional staff.

The service was ok but two pairs of glasses now have fallen apart, requiring them to be mailed in both times. The glasses quality is so poor I would never shop for glasses here ever again. The selection could be better but its all about the quality - its tragically awful.
