People who enter The Recovery Village do NOT get any access to the pool, koi pond, cafeteria, mens lounge, womens lounge, or gym until after a patient has been there for a couple weeks. All patients in TRV change rooms at least 4 times during their stay, and they have to load up all of their belongings on a cart each time they move. People in TRV are only allowed to make two phone calls a week, each call being only twenty minutes. They only have two washer and dryers to accommodate the 40 or 50 people that stay there. A patient is supposed to have a one-on-one session with their assigned therapist at least once a week, but my therapist didnt meet with me two of the weeks I was there. I should have had 4 one-on-ones, but I only had 2. My therapist was a narcissist named Eric, and he thought that he could tell exactly who I was and what my personality is simply because I said I didnt like the movie "Good Will Hunting". While I was at TRV, I had my Kindle e-reader (that I was allowed to have on the unit) stolen from me by my roommate and another patient while I was sleeping (a young man named Kyle Cannon & his partner in crime named Anthony). They both were trying to use it to get internet service on it. Electronics that get internet access or have a camera on them are not allowed in TRV, but walmans and iPods are allowed. Once my stolen device was recovered, the techs did nothing to address the two thieves, but they took my e-reader away from me and locked it up as if it were contraband by tech name Matt, and I couldnt have it for the rest of my stay. The thieves kept their smoke breaks and their iPods. The tech, Matt, flirted with a lot of the female patients there, and I found that inappropriate. I asked to change rooms after learning my roommate stole from me. They switched my room with a young man named Matthew (who chooses to be called "Littles") who intentionally failed to mention to me that he urinated on the mattress the several nights he had slept in it. It was soaked straight through to the box spring. I informed the techs, and I told them that I needed a new mattress. I was not going to sleep in somebody else urine, I had already touched it with my hands when I made the discovery while putting on bedsheets. The tech (his name was Mike Harris) was busy playing on his cellphone, as most of the techs did, and he told me that I couldnt get a new mattress until the next morning and I would have to literally sleep on it for the night. I said that was unacceptable and that it needed to be changed. Mike Harris told me, “You can’t order me around like I’m your slave. Those days are over white boy. You don’t own me. You’re yelling at me like you’re some slave owner, or something.” That was outrageous and uncalled for. Mike Harris, who happened to be Black, used his race as a reason why he didnt have to get me a new mattress, and he accused me, and I happen to be White, of being like a "slave owner". Unacceptable. He had a 1-day clean NA key-chain attached to his keys, but he was clearly not working a program himself. The food at TRV is as awful as can be. The only really edible and enjoyable thing to eat there were the peanut butter and jelly sandwiches that only people in the Detox unit get. The joke we had there, and it is dark, was, "I bet they had better food in a concentration camp." There was an awful tech at TRV name Nate. He had a George Zimmerman complex, and he was an outright liar. He threw a hissy fit when I asked him to switch the soiled mattress with one from another room. He also accused me of cursing at him when he "got in my way" (Those were his words.), and he accused me pressing my sexuality upon the techs and other patients. That was such a blatant lie, and my doctor there (Dr. Abraham) didnt even believe it, thank goodness. Im not that way at all. Mr. Nate is clearly not working a program of recovery either. Please do not send anyone from out of state to detox here. Do not listen to the intake specialists as the one WE worked with glorified the detox program with quoting medications by name and listing natural supplements that were NOT available. It took hours before they admitted her but they did not take her things when she saw the doctor. When I told intake how sarcastic the doctor was when she refused to take the ONLY detox medication available, and that she grabbed her things and left and was missing in a town-state that she didnt know he simply said she had to sign out and addicts lie. While my 21 year old withdrawing daughter was lost and NOT signed out they did nothing. She did go back later that night for help, a different doctor told her she could possibly be healthy enough to leave a few days later...another lie which he should have never told her because she left again after they wouldnt fly her home. This time she signed out. Next day she went back ready to commit to the detox program and the team had to meet I was told...they made her see first doctor and he decided she would not be admitted. She left. A nurse called me back saying if she could possibly be admitted to full rehab program if she would be willing but she couldnt promise if she would be admitted as the team would need to meet again to decide.. my daughter did not want to go back. So with no money, little phone battery, her suitcase in tow she was on the streets again. I had to have her sit 8 hours until she could be picked up. Detox is a confusing and difficult time. People act irrational as that is a part of healing. That doctor has no empathy and does not listen...only talks...he has lost any bedside manner he may have started with and that is sad as these people need help. The intake specialist should not push what is not available there just to get a person to sign up. $2000 for a 5 day nightmare. All the rest better be covered as intake person said. If not they are scamming people. Beware do your homework and best luck

I was told that Recovery village could help me with my drug detox. I trusted them and went there believing they were sincere in what they had told me. Upon arriving I was told that I had to put my personal $ 712.00 IN PROPERTY. The so-called comfort drugs that they gave me caused me to shake uncontrollable and I went back to the nurses station, shaking and asking for help. I was told that, because I was already medicated I would have to wait in line until all the other so called patients. I was the only one there and someone showed up and they were put in front of me, even though they said I could go ahead of them, the nurse, made me wait, shaking uncontrollable. I pleaded with them to help me as I was told they would before I went there.I was told by the nurse that they could not treat me there and was taken by ambulance to the emergency room. I was knocked out bythe ambulance person with halodol and the hospital was told that I was a drug overdose, which I was not, and put on life support. I was at the hospital for three days andd left and went back to recovery village to get my property and go home as I was already told the could not treat me. I asked for my property and instead of $712.00 I was given $212.00 and when I asked where the rest of my money was, I was told that I agreed to pay money for my treatment, which I never got< and am still trying to get my money back! I called and the salesperson told me that all the problems I had were my fault and My money was gone. His attitude was totally different than when I talked to him before I went to recovery village. His friendly, dont worry, we can help attitude was gone and he practically ridiculed me as a sucker for going to Recovery Village. I would in NO WAY RECCOMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE. THEY ARE IN IT FOR THE MONEY, THEIR IS LITTLE IF ANY COMPASSION.
