BEWARE HORRIBLE UNPROFESSIONAL UNCLEAN AND UNSANITARY HOSPITAL. I will be contacting an attorney about my recent visit to metro health. 1st I would like to start by saying good job to the under paid staff that is giving the hospital there time. For the floor we were admitted was under staffed to handle the patient ratio to nurse count. To me I find it really hard to believe how upper management is putting so much pressure on these nurses. Very POOR decsion making skills on management. Staffs attitude revolves around how they are treated and respected. 2nd they treat all there patients like drug addicts. Oh and staff will tell you we are like this cause of the OVER DOSES that happen all around the hospital. So now once they admit you and get you to the floor your going to be staying on they should say hey you are now a inmate of metro health systems we are going to bill you a crazy amount of money for your stay and we are going to treat you how ever we deem necessary. FYI no overnight visitors either. I understand in some cases if its health safety related to why one couldnt stay with a loved one then okay I get it. They are treating patients and there loved ones HORRIBLE. This is when family needs support to help that love one through the hard times of surgery etc. To make there stay awkward and more uncomfortable to me is plain right cruel and inhumane treatment conditions. 3rd LETS TALK CLEANLINESS NASTY NASTY NASTY NASTY NASTY When you arrive the outside appearance isnt so bad. Walk in to ER welcomed by security bag check etc. Wasnt to dirty seemed like a busy night nothing to make me call the place nasty obviously. Once you get admitted you see it all change well at least the floor we were on. Hospital is very outdated but no biggie if they dont want to upgrade there hospital and equipment who am I to judge right. The main hospital entrance is nicely maintained and clean while 1st floor appeared nice and tidy throughout all the hospital. Elevators are dirty dont look like they been cleaned in over a year or so. Probably "budget cuts" Im not going to speak about the whole hospital but there was some very alarming things based on CLEANLINESS that bring red flags to my mind. Been here for 3 days mop your floors. Offer patients new bedding to patients. The room the room is it very disheartening to me that the UNSANITARY conditions of things being handled in this hospital. I COULD CONTINUE THIS FOR DAYS. I THINK YOU GET THE POINT BEWARE OF METRO HEALTH. Use your best judgement on this hospital and staff. I will continue to PRAY for this hospital and the people who continue to chose metro health as there choice.

Two stars because I received care there that resulted in feeling better and I needed stitches this last time, so I was sutured. However, my experience has been poor. So poor that I will not go back. Ill wait until the administrators figure out the staffing there needs to change and/or procedures need to be rethought. I went knowing it was a start up and teams were just starting to work together, however, there is no excuse for having me wait two hours for a toe x-ray that took 3 minutes. I was told the usual: you have to wait; I was ignnored as a pestering impatient person; I was told they were reading the x-ray when it had not been taken and still no one walked the likely 20 steps from their desk over to the radiology department to speak directly to the person there. Instead they communicated electronically and had me wait an hour to know the original transmission failed and then they had me wait another hour after it was assumed the second transmission had been received. It was very sad for them and for me. I needed the x-ray badly after stepping on a tin can requring stitches but a look inside first. This was not my final incident however. When Dr. Tabbut put on sterile gloves and then failed to notice that an instrument bag he took scissors from had blood stains on the inside and/or outside and then looked through a drawer of other sterilized and packaged instruments WITH HIS STERILE GLOVES ON. I was so astounded when he failed to take them off and/or ask someone else to search in the drawer since his gloves were suppose to remain sterile for my suturing procedure!!!!! I just looked at him in disbelief and thought to myself how lucky I am that he prescribed antibiotics because he likely could have given me an infection just as he failed to keep his gloved hands sterile. But, hold on, thats not all. This was my 2nd visit to this Kaiser-esque ER. On the first visit I was there with an upper resp infection but the radiologist came to x-ray my hand! He asked me to stand in the hallway outside the radiology room while he ensured he was not suppose to x-ray my hand. He did not offer me a chair and he did leave me waiting for so long that I walked back to my exam room and sat a while before he reappeared to tell me it was a mistake. Really? I told him I was there for an upper respiratory infection he had to double check a hand x-ray. Best course of action is not to go to this Metro location for ER care because you could end up with unnecessary x-rays or worse a bacterial infection caused by your attending or PA.

Horrible parking. I went there one night because I had an extremely hard time breathing. Went through to the emergency enterence. Had to wait 15 minutes to get checked in.. Told the lady at the desk I had a hard time breathing, with tears falling down my face. She showed no sympathy and casually asked me all these irrelevant questions. Come to find out this could have been skipped. While in my hospital bed two other ladies approached me at seperate times asking the same questions! Really!? Then I was wrongfully released when some random nurse came in and handed me this older African american mans papers. Im a young white women. So its evident she wasnt even paying attention. Im pretty sure what she did was illegal giving me someone elses info.. Pulled my i v out and almost sent me on my way till I started asking why I was getting out so fast.. In reality my condition was so bad I had to be emitted over night! Turns out I just had an extreme respiratory virus. The first doctor said it was a possible blood clot in my lungs!! Quite the dramatic first assumption to tell your patient! I stayed one night and a full day wondering what was going on with me. I finally demanded a doctor to come in and give me answers.. She was rude and annoyed I had asked. She looked at my charts and said ok ur not pregnant and u smoke.. Really? No wayyy after I told each and every one of u this over and over again thats all u have to say to me! I left shortly after. What a large bill should have went elsewhere.. 600 dollars later I find out I have a virus ... Never again will I go here!! Im not to hard to impress in all honesty.. But woww wtf was that metro health?
