After my experience at Aspen Dental I am no longer nervous to go to the dentist. The positive experience started right from my first phone call to the University Parkway office. I needed a filling replaced as soon as possible because I knew my dental insurance was getting ready to expire due to a job change and my recent relocation. When I explained my needs to Kaetina on the telephone she immediately scheduled my appointment for the next day and she also made arrangements to have my file, treatment plan and x-rays transferred electronically from the other Aspen Dental office where I had started my treatment the month before. What a time saver for me! All I had to do was show up the next morning at 9am. When I arrived I was greeted by Kaetina’s smiling face and made to feel welcome immediately. I did not have to wait to be taken back and it seemed obvious to me that they had taken the time to prepare for the clients that were on the day’s schedule in advance. It was refreshing to be treated as a person and to be asked about my move to Sarasota before discussing the next steps in my treatment. Let me pause here to mention that the entire practice is kept immaculately clean. That is so important to me. I would not stay in an office where there was any question as to the hygienic practices of the staff. Dr. Randall Rodriguez-Torres took time to introduce himself and review my current treatment plan to be sure that he agreed with the next steps to be taken. He made me comfortable when I explained my aversion to needles. Really who isn’t afraid of a needle in their mouth? The doctor made me laugh and feel secure before he worked quickly and painlessly to numb me up and get the filing changed. What was the most impressive thing for me during that visit was that he did not over-medicate me. Have you ever left the dentist office and had half of your face numb, drool running down your chin and you were unable to eat for 6 hours? I guess I assumed that was normal before being treated by Dr. Rodriguez-Torres. Not only was I walking out the door at 10am (yeah that is right, already checked out and leaving in one-hour due to the efficiency of the smiling office manager Brent Simpson) but I was no longer numb and was able to have breakfast immediately. This office runs so smoothly. Everyone I met was pleasant and smiling. If there is stress happening there among the staff members, which seems doubtful, you would never know it. They all seemed to truly like working with one another and it shows in how they treat their patients. I was so impressed that I made an appointment to have my teeth ZOOM whitened the next week (next review to follow), scheduled my next cleaning and I brought my sister in to get her dental plan started too. Whether you have a dentist in Sarasota or you are looking for one, you owe it to yourself and your mouth to make an appointment to come into Aspen Dental on University Parkway in Sarasota. Once you experience the difference between a real team of dental professionals who truly care about their patient’s dental care and needs you will never want to go anywhere else. I am so happy I have taken time out of my day to write not only this review, but also one for Yahoo and Bing as well as posting one on their Facebook page. I could not be happier and more importantly healthier after being treated at Aspen Dental.

Steer clear. This place doesnt care about you as a patient, they only care about money, getting money out of you & nothing else. I came here to have some work done on a tooth that I had a filling fall out well over a year ago; never had any pain in the entire year and the minute they prepped my tooth for a crown, now Im in pain & hurting so badly. Been living on Tylenol & Motrin for almost two weeks now. May need a root canal done too now because of this office. Theyre so incompetent. The first temporary crown they put in broke in my mouth less than four days later; the second one is way too big, I can feel it against my cheek. The first permanent crown they had molded didnt fit properly probably because they didnt mold it correctly. Now theyre making me wait another 5 to 7 business days because theyre saying thats how long it takes for a permanent crown to come in ; well the last time it only took three days for it to come back; but now all of a sudden it takes 5-7 days. Thats only because I no longer want them to work on me because of all the pain they have put me through. Theyre making me wait & suffer with a temporary crown that doesnt fit right; probably need a root canal. I already paid for the permanent crown so I must get it, but then if I need a root canal, another office cannot do that through a crown so Ill probably need to have another crown done and pay more money. Its ridiculous. Theyre giving me the runaround basically because I no longer want to be a patient of theirs. The office manager doesnt even want to talk to me; he was supposed to call me today, never got a call. Im going to report them to the Better Business Bureau and the Dental Board. Theyre so incompassionate.

When I initially called the office first time after finding it on the internet , the receptionist was very professional and friendly which made me feel good about the place. I specifically went over the price with her and she told me that I would be charged $130 minus the 20% discount about $110 which was very reasonable so I agreed to a 9:30 appointment. I arrived to my scheduled appointment on time, but had to wait to see the professional until 10:20 and the worst part of it was nobody bothered to tell me that the staff was short handed which I would have understood it. The dentist gets an A+ from me he was outstanding and I would recommend him to anybody. After that I was given the cost by another professional who told me it would be $178 and when I told him about my conversation with the receptionist his answer was "I dont know!", but then when I told him about the 20% new patient discount, he applied it to the price and I ended up with a charge of $139 ( still reasonable, but not what I was told initially by your associate ). Normally I would have walked out of the office and would not go back, but the dentist is so exceptionally good one I kept the appointment. I am an insurance broker who is asked all the time about a good dentist by clients. Overall, I will recommend your place due to the dentist and the friendly receptionist, but I will tell them to make sure that the price is clearly set before you walk in to the office.

I had gone to another local dentist for an annual check up and cleaning. She was terrible, and decided that I should see another dentist about my need for a root canal and crown. I was very happy to leave her office. I had previous experience with Aspen Dental on Merritt Island, and saw they had a location here on University, so I contacted them about the consultation. I met with Dr. Blanco, who is great and knowledgeable. She put me at ease immediately and completely explained the procedure and answered my questions. Brent, the office manager, then explained the cost and my options. These were all in line. Dr. Blanco performed the root canal with no complications and most of all no pain. This week I had an appointment with Dr. Crowgey to complete the prep for my crown. Dr. Crowgey is very patient and understanding, he explained the procedure and completed it with no pain or discomfort. Again he is very patient and understanding with all my questions. I now have my temporary. After the first day, I discovered it was not fitting very well, I called the next morning and they "squeezed" me in between other appointments and Dr Crowgey completed the minor adjustments for me to be more comfortable. I should probably wait for the final crown to write a review, but with the experience so far I am completely confident I will be pleased with the final product. Thank you all at Aspen Dental, Sarasota. You have a new client!
