Horrible experience this morning. Arrived for my appointment this morning and waited a short time, 15 minutes, to be called back, not an unreasonable length of time. I heard them tell another patient that the computers were down. I was not concerned because I was there to have cavities taken care of that were already on my treatment plan. They informed me they needed new x-rays. I gagged all the way through the x-rays as I am extremely sensitive. X-rays done. Dentist reviewed films, informed me that I did not need one of the fillings. I said OK, lets do it. Sat in the chair and waited, only to be informed that they could do no treatments because the computers were down. I asked why they could not proceed as I had an existing treatment plan with charges in the computer. I was told that they could not access my files and could not confirm insurance charges. I got up to leave and walked towards the front because they wanted to reschedule me. I informed them that they should have called all patients to inform them that they could NOT perform any treatments. I scheduled this appointment during my vacation. I am not able to reschedule until I know when my boss will be out of town. To add further insult, I was using Flex Spending. This money must be used by a certain date or you lose ALL of the money you have contributed. Very unprofessional. I have worked in many offices. You NEVER inconvenience the client. We always printed out paperwork for appointments the day prior. If I were the dentist, I would be very upset that clients are showing up and nothing can be done. If you cannot treat patients, cancel the appointments. DO NOT MAKE PEOPLE SHOW UP ONLY TO WASTE THEIR TIME. I dont relish going to the dentist ever but this has made it even more unpleasant. Finally thought I had found a dentist for the whole family. Completely disappointed. How did we do business before computers? Dont they keep a backup file that can be accessed independently of the server? Business must go on with or without the computer. If you cannot conduct business then cancel all appointments until you can. Two hours wasted when you factor in travel time. Unprofessional.

I spoke to someone in the office who said my son wouldnt need new xrays since his were relatively new (from another local pediatric dentist), but at the visit they refused to see him unless I allowed for xrays. Why expose a child to unneeded radiation? I conceded and we were seen. During that visit (just a visual exam and consultation) the pediatric dentist (who would later do the dental work) said the office policy was to administer NOS. When I explain his past success without it at a pediatric dentist whose office policy was to NEVER administer NOS, she agreed that my son seemed mature enough and experienced enough to not need it. Three months later (thats how long it takes to get an appointment there, they are THAT busy), I was asked to sign a consent for NOS. I declined and overheard the office staff discuss their disdain with my decision. I sat in with my son for the first 5min. During that time, the assistant tried to put the mask on my son and give him NOS. Luckily I was there to stop her! She said "seriously, you are going to put him through that?!" My son was just getting 2 fillings. I wanted to get on my soap box and explain to her that they were going to numb the area so he wouldnt feel pain. That the NOS is for anxiety, which he doesnt have. Why dope a kid with a drug that she isnt certified to administer AND is often unsupervised after administered AND over dosed causing a decrease in oxygen intake AND causing death in little tots all around the US!!" After his visit (30 min) she returns with my son, stating that he did well, but whimpered at times, so he wouldnt be seen again unless I consented to NOS. I asked if he was disruptive to the treatment: NO. Caused delays: NO. Seemed anxious:NO. So I then asked " Umm, so why the need for NOS?" She replied "Because the dentist prefers it." So I said "Oh, I see, its the dentist with the anxiety to treat alert and conscious patients. Tell her to go work on the dead then." These people do NOT have the childs best interested in mind. They only care about their own comfort level.

*** UPDATE 6/24/16*** Right after I posted this review on March 5, I received a call from Natalie from the office stating that they saw my review and wanted to issue the refund now. She asked for my credit card, but I did not feel comfortable giving it to her so she said I would receive my refund by mail in 7-10 days. That was almost 3 months ago, so clearly she just wanted me to remove this review which I would have, but knew that she had no intention of sending the refund! Im just amazed and will continue to tell everyone I know that even though Dr. K. might be great, the rest of the organization is a wreck. HORRIBLE since they have changed to Smile Design. Very unorganized and extremely poor customer service. They will try to up sell you on ridiculous things that you dont even need and ignore requests from your insurance company if they owe you money from overcharging you in the first place. My insurance company has sent them 3 requests for reimbursement of only $100.00, and each time they told them they would send me a check by a certain date and never do. Then when I call their office about it, they are overwhelmingly RUDE and say they will get back to me, which of course doesnt happen. I have waited patiently for more than 2 years, and it seems they would rather pay $100.00 for this review than write a check that the insurance company said they owed and they agreed! Unprofessional, unorganized and uneducated on customer service. STAY AWAY!!!

1. Soliciting from the hygienist is so UGLY! This area has very poor quality dentist and the biggest problem is the dentists are HUNGRY for how to sell the unnecessary service to a persons tooth! I chose here after a very tough discussion half an year ago and told them very clearly I know my teeth are very healthy and I need regular cleaning only. The stupid hygienist said this: this is dentist ASKED; this is law!! Can they hire some not so stupid hygienist to say this to a legal background person like me. Really stupid, desperate, and cheap! 2. Dentist didnt show up for any exam. It is the first time on my so many years dentist visit and the dentist didnt check the hygienists work! So this is not a dentist clinic but a hygienist randomly workshop. 3. The hygienist changes from last time to this time, and dont know how to input my tooth information to the computer system. 4. From the not so professional work on your teeth of hygienist, I know there are enough hygienist who is practicing without dentists supervision. I WILL LEAVE THIS BAD PLACE!

I took my review down even after Dr.K lied to me again. After visiting an oral surgeon for my implant that I was going to allow her to place, I will tell you about my experience. First: She removed a tooth and placed a bone graft, I kept thinking it did not look right(there was still a hole in my gum after a month), she told me that was normal. Well I went to the oral surgeon and he told me to place the implant, I needed another BONE GRAFT. So wait a minute, she charged me 500-600 dollars to place a bone graft, yet 8 months later, it looks like no bone graft was placed at all?(yes this oral surgeon said to me, he honestly wouldnt of known I had the tooth pulled or a bone graft 8 months ago) Secondly she told me I needed 3 crowns, the more I have talked with females in the dental field, and they showed me their x-rays, did I NEED 2 of the 3 crowns? I felt like everyone there was getting crowns, how is that possible? In my opinion, she is a RIP OFF. Believe me or not, I would honestly beware and GET A SECOND OPINION.
