I went in as a walk in, as a new client. After a short wait, they told me they only accepted walk-ins on returning clients and that I would have to make an appt to come back. The receptionist was a young woman and had quite an attitude, made it seem like I was wasting her time by not knowing the policy. (Again I was a new client) I wasnt happy, but understood the policy and followed up by making an appointment with her. The earliest I could get was for about a month and a half away. In the mean time I gave them all my info including my insurance info. On the day of my appointment, I signed in, filled out all new client paperwork, and waited to be called back. After a short wait the receptionist called me to the window. She said "um, we dont accept your insurance here, if you still want to stay youll have to pay for it." I was pretty frustrated at this point and asked why they didnt tell me this sooner, as I waited approx 45 days for my appointment. She said "well um, I think.. Yea so, I tried to call numerous times." I asked if she had a called me recently and she confirmed that she called a day or two prior. I then went through my call log and voicemails for the timeframe in which she so rudely told me she called. I found neither evidence of a vm nor a missed call. (This is my cell phone mind you and I always answer and return calls promptly, as I use it for my business). I believe she flat out lied to my face about calling. Long story short and partly bc of her attitude, I declined to pay out of pocket for the visit. Now I get to wait another month for an appointment with a different doctor.

There have been some trolls trying to discredit this great caring doctor, do not believe them, the below is a 100% true review of Dr. Cocks I do not know who Graham Davidson is other than a liar and a big crybaby. Note: He doesnt say anything about Dr. Cocks ability as a Doctor, he is crying about paperwork. I have been a patient of Dr. Cocks since his practice opened. I can guarantee with certainty this guy probably went looking for something and Dr. Cocks refused him. His post is over a year old and obviously he was full of beans. Dr. Cocks is one of the best doctors I have ever been to and unfortunately for me I have had to go to many. Dr. Cocks actually saved my life by telling me the truth about my health. He forced me to face the fact that if I didnt make a serious lifestyle change I would not live to see my daughter graduate high school. She was in the 11th grade at the time. Because of Dr. Cocks intervention, I am now actually less than half the man I used to be, my daughter graduated high school and UCF, and is happily married and working on making me a Grandfather. Again PLEASE ignore that idiots post, it has nothing to do with Dr. Cocks or his medical practice he is complaining about something to do with his paperwork. Even with his negative statement he said nothing bad about Dr. Cocks himself or his medical prowess.

I have been a patient of Dr Cocks for many many years and have always thought very highly of him. HOWEVER, I have finally decided to get another primary care physician. The constant inability to get an appointment and having to pay a higher co-pay at an urgent care facility has me outraged. If work sends me home on a Monday for being sick and I need a physicians note for being out more than 2 days and a note to return then, no, seeing me on Thursday doesnt work! Why would you ask someone who is ill to suffer for 4 days? How can you not have a small time slot in your schedule for walk-ins or emergencies? The last time was when I was told Dr Cocks couldnt see me but the PA takes walks-ins. I held out until my lunch hour, went to the office and was told "we never told you that" "the PA isnt taking anyone today". So yet again back to urgent care. Ill give my money to someone who cares and its clearly not Dr Cocks.

Basically, Dr. Cocks saved my life. My check up went OK, but Dr. Cocks said that at my age, (69 at the time), anything could happen and that I should have a stress test. Usually I blow off things like this, but I went ahead and contacted a cardiologist and had one. The test showed an abnormal result and it was suggested I get a cat scan of the heart. The results showed blockages. This caused him to recommend a cardiac catheterization. The results showed five blockages! So, I went in for a quintuple bypass operation. While my chest was open they discovered that I needed to replace an aortic valve as well! So, thank you Dr. Cocks for pushing me in the right direction.

I have filed a complaint with the state of Florida for Dr Cocks. I have also contacted a local attorney to file a lawsuit against him for violating my HIPPAA rights. He and his office staff are incredible rude, and inappropriate.
