Dr. Maxa both insulted and misdiagnosed me. I suppose we all have bad days - but about 2 minutes into describing my symptoms, he looked up from his computer and snapped "stop right there!" "You are allowed only one symptom today, which is it going to be?" I couldnt believe it. What a jerk! He then told me I was presenting with somatization disorder. "There is no way you have all of those symptoms at the same time!” he said. I was stunned. I went to another doctor who diagnosed me with celiacs. Every symptom matched perfectly with what is on Mayos website. Shouldnt a IM be able to recognize celiac disease? What really frustrates me is that he saw me 2 years prior with the same symptoms, and tried to convince me that I was depressed. If you are looking for some verbal abuse, plus someone to dismiss your symptoms, call you crazy, and misdiagnose you then he is your guy! Arrogance + incompetence – what a combo!

Went to this office because of other positive reviews. I have chronic back injuries from overseas but came in for a followup after an ER visit from a dog bite. Dr. Adams was arrogant, condescending, impersonal and completely uninterested in checking the status of my wounds. Never even asked to see the wounds other than what was visible, he went as far as to say I had a substance abuse problem because I disagreed with the medication he wanted to prescribe me. I have never had such a negative experience while seeking medical care and was made to feel like a bad person. Also he kept my antibiotic bottle that I handed him when he asked what I was taking. I had to ask for it back at the front desk and of course it was an "accident". Completely bad experience and I left feeling less than human, anyone heard of the Hippocratic Oath? Anyway, steer clear of this man, he does not have your best interest in mind only his own!

Dr. Adams has been my physician for several years. He has always been thorough and competent - difficult in an era when most physicians who take insurance and Medicare are driven truly insane by government and insurance regulation and interference. This practice takes care of many older people with complex issues but to stay in business, they have to deal with one issue at a time. If you dont like that, blame the insurance companies and the government executives who take your premiums and your taxes and live well on them - while stiffing your doctors. All that money used to be yours, enabling you to pay physicians a fee and get the attention and time you needed. If you dont like the way things are but want to have a doctor, any doctor, around to see you - write to your Congressman - dont blame your doctor.

The office answered the phone (rare these days) and set me up for a physical in the near future. I was very pleased with the efficiency of the entire experience. No unnecessary questionnaires or seemingly endless delays experienced with other doctors. Dr. Adams was friendly, gave me his full attention, asked for and listened to all of my questions and provided me with specialist referrals for all of my concerns. Adrian was very knowledgeable about whether other offices in the area were in the network of preferred providers. Overall a very professional staff that got the job done and got me on my way. I am glad to have found a PCP I feel I can trust for my health care.

Dr Adams nurse Tara returns phone calls the same day that I leave messages every time I call. When I need a refill, Tara phones it in promptly. She is very dependable. Ive never had a problem with Dr Adams or Tara!

Called to ask for my medical records to be forwarded to my new GP - the assistant i spoke to was one of the rudest people I have ever encountered on the phone. Very glad I no longer receive my care from here.

Ive been seeing Dr. Adams for years and he has always been professional, helpful and his staff is amazing...quick and efficient! I always get my lab results quickly and phone calls are returned same day.

Dont go here. Dr Varner went to lunch instead of seeing me when I called ahead to say I was gonna be late. Stay away. Unprofessional.
