This is an update to the issue I had with Dr. Chackos office. First of all, after I posted this, Dr. Chacko personally reached out to me which I appreciated. As stated by others, I think he is a fine doctor. My issue is with the practice he is associated with. I understand it recently went through a management change. I was overcharged at the office. My insurance quickly resolved it. But, Dr. Chackos office still hasnt refunded me my money. I called multiple times and I get the same story - its being processed and theres nothing more to be done. Its my money and they made the mistake and yet, they treat me like I did something wrong. Unfortunately, I frequent doctors offices and this is the first time Ive experienced anything like this. Avoid it at all cost. They over charged me and Ive been trying to get it resolved for the past two weeks. They provide multiple phone numbers but they all lead to one person whose sole job is to take appointments. She referred me to the billing department but they couldnt do anything. They said I had to talk to the people in the office I visited but there is no direct line to it. I am lucky its just a billing issue. What if it was related to health, I have no recourse other than actually visiting the office to ask questions or set up another appointment. Worst experience EVER!!!

At 18 months old we were told by a different doctor that our son was allergic to all nuts. His peanut allergy was determined by blood test (plus he had reacted to them so we knew he was allergic) but his tree nut allergy was determined by skin test alone. We were told to avoid all nuts. We left that day feeling a little defeated and had no idea there was a chance he wasnt allergic to some of the nuts. Our son is now almost 4 years old. We came to Dr. Chacko after countless friends and neighbors recommended him. Right away we could tell that Dr. Chacko wanted to help us figure this out. We did a blood test for all nuts and the test results came back negative for all tree nuts. So we scheduled an open challenge to test tree nuts. Turns out he is not allergic to ANY tree nuts! We spent 3 years so fearful of all nuts only to find out we could have known years ago that it is only peanuts he is allergic to. Dr. Chacko has given us so much peace of mind already after only 2 visits. We are now onto his peanut challenge to determine if OIT (Oral Immunotherapy) is an option for us to help with his peanut allergy. I cant even tell you how happy we are that we switched to Dr. Chacko.

I bought and read a book on allergy testing in toddlers with eczema to prepare for our visit with Dr. Chacko - I neednt have bothered. He was knowledgable, patient, explained options and outcomes, and wasnt pushy at all. I was impressed with how knowledgable he was and thankful that he took my concerns to heart. He didnt advocate for testing that would not affect treatment outcomes and was honest and direct about exactly what testing would and would not do for us. He advised us based on what he knew as a doctor and what he would do as a father. I wish there were more doctors like Dr. Chacko out there - I would love to have such a competent, caring doctor as our primary care physician!! We recently had more questions for Dr. Chacko and emailed him. He called us right back - even though it was Christmas Eve, and also subsequently called us as soon as he had a break between appointments the following week. He took time to answer all my questions thoroughly, and didnt rush me at all. He is so caring and conscientious - really treats parents as equal partners in their childs care. We love Dr. Chacko!!!!

Dr. Chacko is a great doctor and allergist. Unlike many other doctors, he actually takes the time to discuss with you in detail your condition. It is not just in and out with Dr. Chacko. This one time, I was out of town and had a severe allergic reaction to some seafood that I ate. My wife immediately called Dr. Chacko and he was able to assist me in minutes. That is the high level type of care that he provides his patients. He also explains to you all the possible causes of your condition and thoroughly diagnosis your situation. I feel very comfortable asking him questions even if I am unclear about the slightest thing. I have had many experiences with doctors trying to quickly diagnose me and get me out so they can see the next patient. Dr. Chacko is the opposite. Even though, he is extremely busy, the care and attention that he provides me when I go to see him has been incomparable to any other doctor that I have seen. My wife and my child are also patients of Dr. Chacko and I would highly recommend him as your allergist.

My daughter is 11 and has been allergic to peanuts since she first had some as a young child. Dr. Chacko said she was ready to do a peanut challenge as her blood work came back showing little to no allergy. It took 5 months for her to decide she was ready to do the peanut challenge. She was scared and nervous. We did the peanut challenge today and she did awesome! Dr. Chacko and his team were incredible. They explained everything to her and went slow and at the pace she was ready for. They were encouraging and patient. We started with different items so she didnt know which items were or were not peanut. If your child is nervous or scared you can trust Dr. Chacko and his wonderful team. They just opened the door to yummy treats and took away all the items that she couldnt have at school because they may contain nuts! She is so glad that she conquered her fear and trusted Dr. Chako.

I cannot express how much I love Dr. Chacko. He was so confident that he could help my son who is severely allergic to peanuts including being airborne. Not only is he a wonderful, great, and smart doctor while at the office, hes there for you on weekends and holidays too! Including his wonderful nurse, Amanda. My son ate a whole peanut today and Im over the moon. Life has already changed so much for us all because of Dr. Chacko. My son has sailed through OIT and benefiting daily from it. Hes currently now able to eat any foods thats been cross contaminated, he no longer has hives or splotches when out in public, and just recently went to the circus with no airborne issues at all. I cannot express enough how thankful I am that we chose Dr. Chacko to be our allergist. He will forever be in my heart for the life hes given my boy!

My daughter had been diagnosed with an egg allergy via blood and skin tests by 2 other allergists. We were advised to avoid all eggs completely, which we have done for the last 1.5 years. I am so glad we came to see Dr. Chacko! He recommended the baked egg challenge test, which my daughter passed! This will make all our lives much easier. We go back in 1 month for the scrambled egg challenge. Before living the extreme diet of strict avoidance due to food allergies, I recommend visiting Dr. Chacko to make sure it is absolutely necessary. He was wonderful with my daughter and so was his office staff. Not only that, but he answered my phone call himself (so rare for a doctor) and gave me his direct email address to reach out to him with any questions. There is a reason Dr. Chacko gets such wonderful reviews, he is a true gem.
