Please dont can take your children here. My three year old has been squinting for a couple of months so I decided to bring him to get it checked. Prior to coming, I specifically asked them if they were used to serving toddlers and was given confirmation by the receptionist. Well, when we began the eye exam, my toddler was in one of his toddler moods (shy, reserved).. because hes a toddler..... Anywho, Dr. Pence began asking him what do you see, and when my son wasnt answering, I tried to ease him by asking the same question. I was immediately told VERBATIM "Be quiet! I need to do this" by Dr. Pence. I found that to be very disrespectful since I was simply trying to ease my sons reservations. But I humbled myself and continued on because the most important thing was my sons eyes, not my ego. It continued to get worse as Dr. Pence would ask me if my son had a cognitive issue or was born early due to his lack of response. I informed him that was unnecessary and that my son was just fine but that he would do better with me assisting in asking the questions (not answering them of course). To sum up that 30 mins, it was a waste of 10 bucks and I have told every parent in my neighborhood circle as well as at my sons academy not to place their money in that business. Completely unprofessional.

I recently switched to Dr. Pences office due to lack of communication from my previous eye clinic. While I was pleased with the office visit and consultation, the staff is indifferent when it comes to the length of time that it takes for eyeglasses to be ordered and delivered to their office. At the consultation I was advised that glasses generally take around 10 business days to be ready, and now it is nearly a month later and still no glasses. I called 3 weeks after the initial visit to check on the status of the glasses, and the office staff puts me on hold for 20 minutes and hangs up on me. Then I go personally to their office, and the lady behind the desk is chatting on her facebook page, advising me that they will call me when the glasses come in, even though they should have arrived a long time ago. I plan to file a formal complaint with the BBB, and I would advise anyone who does business with this office to pay for services once they are rendered (i.e., pay for glasses when they are ready to be picked up.) or do business elsewhere.

I have amended my review. All 4 of my family go to Dr. Pence for annual examinations and think he is great. I have not been pleased with my most recent purchase of eyeglasses from them. It has taken an unusually long time for the glasses I ordered to come in (over 3 weeks), and I am still waiting. I am sure they will eventually arrive, but the lack of effort to fix this customer satisfaction problem once I brought it to their attention has caused me to change my previous 5-star excellent rating.

Everyone was polite and helpful, even when I became upset because I had misread my insurance policy. I believe I saw Dr. Pence for contacts, but whichever Doctor I saw was very informative and assisted me in picking out some contacts that would be easy for me to wear due to my seasonal allergies.

My familys experience with Georgia Optometry-Dunwoody has been over many years and a change in location for them. We love the office, the particular care that is taken with each patient, and definitely think highly of Dr. Pence and Dr. Spetalnik. I highly recommend.
