Highly disappointed in my experience. Would not recommend anybody go here seeking help with their eyes. My experience started when my wife and I decided to look into having the elective surgery done. We scheduled the free consultation and went down and found the staff to be very nice and personable. We felt comfortable with this even though they advertise as low as $299 per eye, and we ended up being quoted 4 times that amount. But hey, its your eyes. So we set a date for our surgeries, being assured that we were going to be seeing great. We were scheduled on the following Friday after our consultation and paid our deposit. Being advised that we would not be able to drive after the procedure, we hired a driver for the day, at a cost of $100. My wife and I now have missed a day of work, totaling almost $500 in lost wages. However, when we got to our appointment, mine was first, scheduled at 8:30 am, and my wifes at 9:30, we found our selves in a waiting room for more than an hour before the surgeon came in and brought us both to an exam room, performing a quick test and advising both of us that neither of us were candidates for Lasik. So the end result of our experience was an emotional roller coaster with hopes of being able to see properly without the aid of glasses, and then having those hopes crushed in one blow, with the added loss of over $500 in wages for the day. My feeling is that if the staff is not qualified to determine who is and who is not an actual candidate for the surgery, they should not sell the services and schedule the surgeries. Buyer beware, you could spend a lot of time and money and heartache by using this facility... In closing I do have the utmost respect for the surgeons opinion, just wish someone more qualified would have conducted the original exam and consultation to prevent the loss of time and wages.

The main reason for this review is to help others who may fall in the same category as I did. Several weeks ago I visited this location for a consultation. Staff was friendly and inviting - which is the only reason I give this business 2 stars. I had no issue with the staff but more so their inaccurate conclusion as to treatment. The tech administering my consult as well as the doctor told me I was not a candidate for LASIK but that they would do PRK surgery (due to "thinner corneas and mild astigmatism"). Not a big deal although I was NOT excited for the rough recovery of PRK. I thanked them and left saying we would be in touch. 6 days later I had a consultation with the Woolfson Eye Institute. I have to say I am SO thankful I did because their diagnosis was completely different. With their high level of technology and expertise I fell into the category of LASIK candidate. Not PRK! And the cost was still in my budget. The staff was fantastic and I left that day with an appointment for the LASIK procedure. I cannot express enough to please seek multiple opinions before selecting your surgeon! I am so happy I did because now I am 10 days post-op with perfect vision and zero complications thanks to The Woolfson Eye Institute. Dr. Woolfson is the best and possesses the technology and experience to do for me what The LASIK Vision Institute could not

My experience was unbelievable. I never imagined that first I could ever experience the same feeling that I had the first day I put on glasses 13 years later without them. The consultation was extremely thorough. It was checked TWICE the first consultation to ensure that the RX matched and the possibility was real prior to letting me know I was a candidate. The day of the surgery it was checked again by Dr Carr to ensure again details were accurate. The surgery was walked through step by step so I knew exactly what to expect and when. During the procedure they talked me through each step as they were performing it so I was on the same page and comfortable. That evening I was seeing ok. The next day I was so excited I annoyed my wife talking about how I felt because I could see without my glasses. It was so freeing and despite the few bad experiences you should absolutely consider visiting them. I would HIGHLY recommend their staff if you are indeed a candidate. Just go in with the idea there is a chance they cant ensure you are a candidate until they know for sure.

Came here for a consultation. Summary: its probably pretty good if you have a lot of time on your hands. Let me go over the consultation process as i experienced it: 1. Sign in and wait for almost 2 hours 2. They call you... You get excited b/c you believe youve been chosen. After a quick vision test and 5-minute talk about financing and types of eye surgeries. Then... 3. Back to the waiting room for over an hour 4. Quick vision test/dilate eyes 5. Back to the waiting room 5. Quick vision test 6. Back to the waiting room (you start to feel like youre going insane) 7. Quick consultation 8. Back to the waiting room.... And thats where i couldnt take it anymore. Not sure where this process ends.... But i had been there >5 hours when it was all said and done. The staff was nice & office seemed clean... And maybe its not always like this. But I dont believe Ill be returning.

I had my LASIK (actually PRK--Dr. Stetson said Id have better a outcome than with traditional LASIK) surgery there in December 2006, and my vision is still great almost 10 years later. Ive never needed an adjustment, and my optometrist recently commented on the high quality of my surgery. The one thing I would warn potential customers about is that, after the surgery (which only takes about 30 seconds per eye), they flush your eyes with ice-cold water (to stop the cooking process!). I wasnt prepared for that and it was very hard to keep my eyes open during that part. Other than that, the process was quick and painless. I was in and out in about 3 hours. I definitely recommend having PRK or LASIK at the LASIK Vision Institute.

Went to the location in Atlanta (Cobb) and got my exam, appt. for surgery and the day of surgery, the surgeon said hed rather not do it, that I was not the best candidate. He said I could go get it done somewhere else but due to the shape of my astigmatism, hed rather not do it due to the 1/499 chance that it wouldnt work. I never expected this kind of honesty and truly value this company for doing (what is in MY opinion) the "right thing" by sharing the honest opinion and success/failure percentage with me. While I did NOT get the procedure done, Id highly recommend them since I feel, (in MY case), they are extremely trustworthy. Thanks!

They rush you through consultations and post op instructions, and they dont give you realistic expectations at all of the procedure or recovery time. Its made out to seem simple and they dont mention the recovery can be slow and difficult for some people. Its been 2 weeks and my vision is worse than before the procedure still. Hoping it gets better, my next appt isnt for 2 months, and results can take up to 6. Thats a long time to not be able to see. At my second post op appt, he gave me a prescription for temporary glasses, not the results I was expecting after paying thousands for 20/20.
