Update at the bottom. On my first trip I rated them a 5 but after the bad treatment i just received after coming back because i got worse, i am having to seriously reconsider this er unfortunately. Firat trip: I was seen at the emergency room for the first time tonight. My doctor was Dr. Cook and my nurse was Elizabeth. I could not be happier with this hospital. All of the staff from the minute I walked in until I walked out the door were amazing. They were all extremely friendly and showed sincere concern and empathy. Dr. Cook is an extraordinary doctor. He was thorough, warm, friendly and he genuinely cared. They ensured I was out of pain and comfortable the entire time. When being discharged Doctor Cook came in and spent a good amount of time going over all of my diagnosises, as well as my follow up care and all of the medicines I was being sent home with and he made sure I understood everything and answered any questions I had. The nurse, Elizabeth also came in and did the same once I was being discharged. This is by far the best hospital emergency I have ever been to, with the most friendly and caring staff. The best, my positive hospital experience I have ever had. If I was able to give higher than 5 stars I would! If you ever have an emergency and need to be seen, I would highly recommend going to this hospital. Thank you Northridge, Dr. Cook, nurse Elizabeth and the rest if the amazing staff for treating me so well. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. Second trip: Unfortunately I had to come back about 4 days later because the pain and vomiting got worse and the 2nd trip was horrible. The doctor just did urine on me and told me the first doctor failed to tell me I have a large ovarian cyst so he just assumed that is all it was. Did a pregnancy test then sent me on my way. I am hoping my first trip wasnt just a fluke, because after this 2nd trip here and being treated so bad this time I am starting to doubt the er. I was told by the first doctor to come right back if I got worse, which I did, but then I get treated so badly for following the doctors orders. Also the doctor I saw tonight and my nurse both really threw the first doctor under the bus. My nurse even made the comment that the doctor I saw tonight "is a much better doctor" than the one I saw the other day, but then why was I treated so poorly this time if this doctor tonight is so great?

Do NOT come here for a medical emergency...go to NORTHEAST GEORGIA!!!!! You have been warned! I am sort of new to the area (originally from Atlanta, lived in Gainesville for a while before moving to Commerce) A family member of mine works at a nearby hospital. They warned me when I moved here NOT to go to Northridge in an emergency. I didnt listen. BIG MISTAKE! My husband had an emergency, so I drove him there (it is less than two miles away) I wont say what the emergency was for personal reasons. In fact I wont go into any gory details, but my husband could have died from it. He was in pain so bad he was in tears.(it is rare to see my husband shed a tear) The woman there (I did not see a man, just woman, not that it matters, but they were NOT FRIENDLY) they acted like we were bothering them. When I rang the bell no one was in a hurry and they acted like I interrupted their quilting bee or afternoon soaps. We sat there waiting and waiting while the ONE intake lady was with one man who did not appear to be in a life threatening situation whatsoever.(I think he was telling her his wrist was sore) After a near altercation between me and these woman who refused to get off their fat arses to help my husband while I waited to give his insurance info to the intake lady (who I never got to see because she stayed with this one guy forever) before they would even take him back...We finally jumped in the car and drive to Northeast Georgia where they treated him like it was an emergency.(it turned out it was life threatening and he was hospitalized for several days) NEVER AGAIN! Next time we will call an ambulance to Northeast GA. In the time we waited (wasted) we could have made it to Northeast GA anyway. He could have DIED waiting. The ambulance could have stabilized him during the ride. I thought I was doing him a favor getting him somewhere as fast as possible, but I should have listened to what I was told. Take it from me DO NOT GO TO NORTHRIDGE FOR AN EMERGENCY! TELL THE AMBULANCE TO GO TO NORTHEAST GA! The staff at Northridge are rude and do not respond quickly.

I came into the hospital because I was having throat spasms and a painful swollen lump under an incision from a lymph node biopsy that was pressing on my windpipe and making it hard to swallow. The doctor walked in and the only thing he wrote down was the name of the friend who came to the hospital with me. The dr didnt even know how to spell Billy. He proceeded to completely ignore anything I had to say about my surgery, my results, or past medical history, and immediately told me I was just over anxious and got rather annoyed with me when I tried to continue to tell him things he needed to know to treat me. He ordered a CT scan anyway and while I waited I could overhear the staff in the hall talking about me in a very unprofessional manner and stating "they hoped my results would hurry up and arrive so they could get me out of there". I do have cancer, I did have a surgery, and there is fluid build up but the doctor didnt even take the time to listen to me to know that. However, even in the instance that this was not true, and it was simply over anxiety about my incision site, how does that make any difference in treating me? Anxiety is a very real psychological disorder and what you feel while having an anxiety attack feels just as real as something that is really happening. Treating me any differently because you think Im just anxious is extremely unprofessional and can cause serious psychological harm to a patient suffering from anxiety. If I didnt think there was a serious problem, I would not have come to the hospital and wasted my money, energy, and time dealing with it. I do not recommend coming to this hospital, I dont even think they should be able to call it a hospital.

My boyfriend is in the Emergency room because he hurt his foot at work. They put him in the same room to be checked out with another possible MRSA patient. Ridiculous! My boyfriend has CML (leukemia) and has a very low immune system, he told the nurse that he cant be in the room with him and they did nothing! If he didnt think his foot was broken he would just leave and find a better hospital. This hospital is a JOKE! Last time I was in the Emergency room a few years ago for a hurt arm they put me & my two younger kids in that same room with a young woman who had strep throat so bad she couldnt talk. They didnt treat me seriously, just treated me like I was just there for pills. Even when I refused to take the prescription several times! Even the young womans mother in the room with me couldnt believe how the doctor wouldnt stop trying to give me a pill prescription as many times as he did. Every experience we have had with them was horrible. They are dirty, nasty, and if you have tattoos and piercings they will treat you like your just coming in for pills. Not everyone, including my boyfriend and myself, use drugs. When we come to the ER its because we have a serious issue and need emergency care. I hope anyone who needs to go here will see this review. Please be careful. The staff may be friendly like all the other reviewers have said but they apparently dont have any sense at all. Why would you put a sick person and another person who has some type of bacterial infection in the same room together? Its crazy and it needs to be stopped!
