On June 28th, 2016 I discovered what appeared to be a blood blister on the underside of my stomach, on the left side. It ruptured and we didnt think much of it, after all it appeared to be a blood blister. I was tired and I hadnt been feeling great. Over the next few days I gotten much sicker. I was hurting all over, my lower back was killing me, as was the 101.1-103.1 fever. I could barely move, and I wasnt eating, barely drinking. My skin was paling out a lot, and the pain was the worst pain I had ever felt. On July 2nd, My husband asked my roommate to drive us tot he ER, cause my fever wasnt breaking, and the blood blister was weeping nasty liquid and I was getting sicker. We spent eight long hours in the ER. I had an MRI and a cat scan, and they discovered that from the blood blister “hole” there were nine tubes branching out from it, and they called it an abscess. They sent me home without pain killers, and a single antibiotic and directions to get an appointment from Georgia Suricare asap to have it cleaned and drained properly. By ten pm on July 3rd, I was throwing up nearly non stop, nothing but bile, and at midnight on the 4th, and the 5th, I was back in the ER at My My husbands deep concern. They gave me pain meds and told me to make sure I went to Sugricare on the 6th for my appointment, but they simply said it was a bad abscess. I spent the 5th, mainly in bed, throwing up or sleeping. The morning of July 6th, My My husband had to help me shower and dress, and then get me down the stairs from our apartment, the entire time, I was pale, running a 101 fever, and throwing up. When we got to the office in Logonville, which is about 23 minutes from our apartment in Monroe, GA, My IRL person went in, and got a nurse and a wheelchair. Forty five minutes pass before I got into the office. The surgeon took one look at what was the abscess, looked at my person, and then looked at the second surgeon and announced I was going to be admitted to Clearview, the hospital in Monroe, and I was going to have surgery that afternoon, because I was septic. On the orders for Clearview, it stated I was septic and that I had necrotizing fasciitis. They got me into a private room on the main floor. They checked my blood sugar and due to the infection, which can raise your blood sugar, it was in the 500 range. Between that, the breathing issues I was having, and the fact my vomiting was getting worst, and that they could not get an IV into my arm because of the dehydration, they moved me to ICU with in thirty minutes. I sent My My husband off to go to workaround four, and by six I was in surgery. Those few hours before surgery are fuzzy. I remember my surgeons coming in and saying that I had to have the surgery in order to save my life, and I was so confused, considering that I still didnt know what exactly the issues were. When I wont up the following day, the surgeon’s assist explained to me why I still have the venation tube in, and why I now had four separate IVs in, and what I had. He explained that due to a bacteria, Group A Strep. He said I had gone septic, toxic, and that my lungs went in to full respiratory arrest so they put the breathing tube in, in order to save my life. He also said, with how far the damage was, there would be another surgery that Friday, to remove more of the infected tissue and such, and that I was very lucky to be alive, but I was not out of the woods yet. Five days, three different surgeries, ICU... clouded in pain meds, and this mind numbing fear as I learned more about what was happening to me, and what could happen. I had a hard time wrapping my head around the fact I had nearly died, and could die from this. On the sixth day, they moved me back to the main floor, and then two days later, I was transferred to Athens, GA to a private rehab wound care specializing hospital called Landmark. I am still alive thanks to the hospital. The Er needs work, and a few of the ICU nurses need to learn not to gossip about patients and be gentler with them, but the knowledge is there.

Terrible hospital.. have been there so many times with so many people and myself and I have had nothing but issues! Where should I start.... Coming from a person who has worked in the medical field I cant tell you how many mistakes I have seen when it came to performance, work ethic, professionalism and clinical duties. From not wearing gloves when they should be, to the way they put an IV in. Second off my sister in law almost died because of a careless mistake a nurse made, by giving her too much medicine and then giving her the wrong medicine. Thank goodness she is okay! She was there to have her daughter! Another thing, my family has been threatened by the medical staff (wasnt sure if it was a PA, RN or what.. but my mom has her name and will be filing a complaint.) Only because my grandfather was there getting medical treatment for a car accident he was in and she took it personal because she knew the person who was in the other car (and btw insurance says it was her fault. for backing up without looking, when my grandfather had the right of way.) She was absolutely RUDE to my family, to my grandfather.. She was extremely unprofessional, rude and unethical. I have had terrible medical care here... I think the only positive thing about this hospital is that they are pretty fast when it comes to waiting time, other than that they are terrible. I dont even know how they are up and running.. they probably have a ton of malepractice lawsuits. These people will send you out the door with a "stomach bug" to only be diagnosed with something more serious if you arent dead by then. We actually know a few people, including children who have died because they were not diagnosed correctly and sent home.. so yeah I dont know how ANYONE can trust this hospital.

This was the worst hospital that I have been to. Upon arriving to the ED, the registrar was very friendly and helpful. However the Triage nurse and forth on was TERRIBLE. I sat in the waiting room for over 3 hours with a puncture wound with dizziness spell with a BAD order in the waiting room. The furniture was stained and had a stinking odor and it was filthy. The triage nurse did not introduce herself and acted as I was bothering her. She had no compassion and a careless attitude. Did not provide details as far as BP, temp, etc. After waiting for over 3 hours in the smelly waiting room, I finally went to the exam room. X-ray Tech came in to take pictures. The second nurse was nice, but did not introduce herself. She wiped (not cleaned) the wound very briefly with water, put Neosporin, and a bandage and said ok we will send you home. Did not see a DR saw a NP who said oh your x-rays shows nothing. So we will send you antibiotics will ibuprofen. I could have done all this at home. NO one palpitated the wound; touch the wound or even exam the wound, just a picture and medication. I was freezing, because the infection had started enter my body, no one ask could they get me anything (like a blanket). I was in pain and ball up in a fetus position. I left and went home, only to go to another hospital the next day, because I had a fever of 102. Only to be admitted for 23 observation, where I had antibiotics around the clock to get rid of the infection. I will NEVER step a foot or my family member in CLEARVIEW REGIONAL HOSPITAL. The WORST experience EVER
