When I arrived there was a long wait, however, because of my symptoms they took me back right away and put me in a bed in the hallway. I was fine with that. My nurse Brad was good, the Dr. on was great and listened and was very respectful and patient. All the sudden a lady, I guess a nurse, comes through the hallway shouting to the nurses that they needed to hurry and discharge or admit patients because there was a long wait. She kept on and on and it was INCREDIBLY unprofessional how rude she was being. She came up to me and asked if the Dr had discharged me yet. I told her no. She comes back a few mins later yelling again about the same thing. At that time the Dr told me I could go home. She VERY rudely comes up and shoves a thermometer in my mouth and jabbed it under my tongue not paying a BIT of attention to what she was doing. I shouted "OUCH" at her. Her response was "Sorry baby". Then she starts just ripping stuff off me that was connected. Her whole attitude was horrible and unprofessional. I REALLY hope she wasnt the charge nurse. I wish I would have got her name. My nurse Brad asked me if I was okay and gave me my discharge papers and told me he would be right back to go over them with me. She comes back over to me and comments, "Now you done messed them up and I gotta find the page for you to sign". I just looked at her because I didnt even touch them. They were handed to me and I placed them on the bed. I had to ask if I could leave and nobody really acknowledged me at all. Then she starts in on another tech because apparently she "lost" my vitals. I just walked out at that point. I was in shock. I REALLY wish I would have gotten her name because I was going to call and complain. Nobody that miserable should work there. Especially with sick patients. You cant act that way to the patients. When you get in such a rush that you physically hurt someone, there is a problem. I used to work at a hospital and you suck it up and smile to make sure the patient is comfortable. If I need to go to the ER ever again, it will not be at Barrow.

Horrible experience! I came in to be seen for an ear ache. When the doctor came into the room. He first asked who is the patient with out identify himself. He began to ask me about my issue with the door still open and with the nurses sitting behind the station and other patients to hear. I then took my daughter to the restroom where I noticed there was dried blood mixed with feces left on the toilet. I alerted the staff but they seem not to be to concerned and said, "they will send someone down to take care of it." I also noticed a sign posted in the restroom asking patients not to sit down on the toilet seat because it was loose. Next I experienced a severe HIPPA violation. The person whom was sent in to discharge me did not give his cadentials, but asked me about personal information again with the room door open for staff and patients walking around including people who were in my room to comfort me about my personal information. Once I confronted him about the issue, he brushed it off. I was then given medication for which I had to ask the same medical personnel if I was supposed to eat something upon taking it. After I inquired about eating something before taking the medication. The gentleman begin to exit the room and told me, "oh yea I will bring you back something. The crackers he bought me back had an expiration date of 2015. Unless I am bleeding out, I would never ever return to this hospital!!!!! I would fear anyone bringing their loved one here . You just might leave and worse condition than you arrived in .

The nursing staff has little tact and most behaved rudely. We could hear them complaining about how many patients they had the entire time we were there, and the place was practically empty. At some point we could hear one of them rather loudly making fun of and LAUGHING about my husbands mildly serious reason for visiting that morning as she chatted on the phone. The nurses that were supposed to be taking care of my husband flat out ignored some of his questions, pretending they didnt hear him and walking out of the room. I was treated poorly and often ignored as well. This kind of behavior I could understand on a busy day, but as I mentioned before, this place was empty with only 3 or 4 cars in the parking lot. The nurses seem to find nothing more important than sitting around and chatting. The doctors and the one or two of the nurses were very pleasant individuals, but it hardly made up for how cold and uncaring most of the nursing staff was, especially since you must deal with them for 95% of a visit.

Went to emergency room on a Tuesday night with severe abdominal pains. Was seen pretty quick, they did MRI and cat scans, due to pain and white blood count being high , admitted me. The only complaint is I went the whole next day waiting on a GI doctor that never showed. Saw th GI DOC on Thursday am, got more scans and MRI with contrast and they found abscess on my abdominal wall. Immediately started treating with iv antibiotics and stayed the weekend and early Monday am had another scan, found abscess shrinking, so was discharged immediately! No wait for paperwork!! I feel much better and satisfied with the care I received. My nurses and techs were super,, cudos go out to Rachel, Anna. On the techs, Ola, Jessy and Gen for the nurses and Heather with food services always made sure I had everything I could have and really looked out for me. If I need it, I would t hesitate to come here for care. Signed, one happy little ole man feeling better, Thank you NE GA MED CTR in BARROW, staff especially!

The ER nurses were great and went above and beyond to try and help me. It wasnt until I was hospitalized that I started having problems. Most of my nurses during the several day stay were amazing and very sweet until the last nurse.. The last nurse that was on duty during my stay, was absolutely horrible. I had to page the nurses station three times over an hour and a half to get her to turn my IV pole off and replace the bag for more medication. Mind you, this is late in the evening when I overheard them say how slow they were that night. When it came to being discharged, not only did she barely go through any discharge instructions, she was incredibly rude about it and was literally throwing her stuff around. My discharge paperwork was never even given to me. Dr. Jeffrey was in charge and he is amazing. Very caring, knowledgeable, and descriptive with your conditions. I would recommend him to anyone. The tech, Anna, is fantastic and so were the nurses on staff, except that one day nurse.

I want to support my local hospital, but I simply cannot give this hospital any good reviews. Too many bad experiences with this ER, but the most recent had to do with my 9 year old son. He was carving soap (to earn his Whittling Chip in Cub Scouts), but got a nasty cut on his wrist. I knew I had to rush him to the hospital because of the severity of his cut. He was in so much pain, but didnt get any kind of care until 3 hours later when they put a band-aid over the cut, but before that, the nurse said he would need stitches. We waited for another hour (going on hour 4), when the nurse came back in and said that no one mixed the numbing agent for the stitches, then told us to stand by. We waited for another hour for her to put a liquid band-aid on the wound, then discharged us. No stitches, no pain medication, one gauze to wrap his arm. The only nice thing I can say about this hospital is that the staff is very nice, other than that, seek care elsewhere. I urge you.
