First time here and probably will not come again. My orthodontist referred me to Hawkins and claims they are "great." I went in for my usual six month teeth cleaning. The dentist there tells me I have bad oral hygiene (first time I been told this because I take excellent care of my teeth). Im depressed due to this statement, so they had to do a "deep" teeth cleaning. At the end I had to pay about $140 and my insurance covered the rest. Three weeks later I received a bill from Hawkins saying I need to pay my debt of $112.60. Which confused me because the billing clerk told me at the time of my appointment the balance is $140 and I paid the same day. I went to Hawkins the next day to see if there was a mistake in their computer system because at the bottom of the letter says, "We have made change in our computer system," assuming there is a flaw in the system. The rude billing clerk tells me there is no mistake and my remaining balance is $112.60. I asked her does this happen often and she ignores my question and says "when are you going to make the payment?" I was forced to make the payment at the end and then tried to cancel my appointment later in the future and the billing clerk tells me "you have to call and cancel the appointment" even though I was already in Hawkins dentistry. Thus my experience at Hawkins Family Dental is the worst because money is more important than customer service. I didnt get an explanation for the billing, guessing they pocketed more money and lied to me. Now I have no dentist and dont even know if my appointment is canceled due to the unprofessionalism. Ill wait for another bill that may say "broken appointment fee." I do not recommend Hawkins for a Dentist.

Each time Im in THAT chair I ask myself why - and will always come back for more! A personable hygienist, a friendly doctor or two, unpleasant necessities to keep my teeth in my mouth delivered with lots of smiles and a minimum in discomfort. Ive loved going to this dentist since 1982! 33 years? not a bad recommendation. Besides my kids once graced the photos on his wall, too.
