Well, the staff was friendly and I enjoyed the customer service while I was there however the problems surfaced after I left and once Aspen got my money (for work that wasnt even done!). When I received a bill from my insurance company, I was charged for items I had questioned the tech working with me on to ensure they were in fact covered (of course your insurance completely covers your scans), so I was lied to. This made me very upset. I began to wonder if other offices had better rates so I contacted my insurance company directly and sure enough, I found one. Aspen is way overpriced! Now enter the bigger problem- I have been trying to get a hold of the business manager (Tim) for over a month now to receive the credit on my account back because Aspen preemptively charged me for three plus anticipated visits (around $1k). Every time I call I am told that I can either wait on hold for 30 to 45 minutes or that they can take my name and number to call me back. The first (and ONLY call back) the young lady said yes, you have a credit on your account, which Im aware of because that is the credit I want back. I politely told her that I wanted it refunded and she said oh, well I cant do that but the manager can and he is busy. I said ok and requested specifically for only him to call me. I called up 3 additional times since May and I have YET to receive a call back. I am trying desperately to not be that annoying customer that blows up their phone, but come on! I feel like even if this were handled with a little more business acumen, and a client first filter I wouldnt be writing this and I would probably still be a patient if Aspen would communicate with me like they care. I at least wouldnt be writing this. I would HIGHLY recommend others to not be an idiot like myself and allow Aspen to charge you in advance for the services because it is impossible to receive this credit back apparently. Second, I would HIGHLY recommend taking your business elsewhere. I feel really bad because I never write reviews however, I am very upset and honestly kind of shocked at the lack of urgency taken with this matter. Stay tuned... hopefully I will get my money back for the work that was never done as well as the difference from my insurance bill I was told would not be charged and completely covered.

First of all when I made the appointment online I made it for 2/29/16. After completing it the appointment confirmed the appointment for 3/29/16. So I called the phone number on the card to see if I could get in as quick as possible because I was suffering, in a lot of pain. The person that I talked to said they would work me in, so to be at there office at 8:15 am on the 29th. Upon arriving I was told my appointment was for 9:00. I told the lady that it was scheduled for 8:15. I was told "Yeah that is because of using the main line and it happens a lot." So at 9:00 they called me back and started taking ex rays then they completed an exam of my mouth. After sitting for another hour I finally asked how much longer it would be? I was then told "The Doctor was in the middle of a procedure and that it would not be much longer, but they were short staffed" I explained to them that I was in sever pain. I was then told "Well the Doctor would be in shortly to look at me and then they would schedule another appointment to solve my problem." I said "so I have to continue with the pain in order to make another appointment" when I told them on the phone the problem that I was having, and I was told "Yes thats right." I feel that this is done so that your company can make plans for people with a free exam and ex rays so that you will be able to plan for how much money that you can get from each person that comes in. Your company should be ashamed of your selves to pretend that your interested in helping people and all you appear to be interested in is making sure you get as much money scheduled to come in for the next year. I had called your company because of the reviews that were shown on the internet. I must assume that you are deleting the bad reviews in order to make yourself look better to the public. You are welcome to contact me regarding my visit, but I highly feel you will not because you are interested in money not helping. I can only pray that God forgives you for placing money above all else. I am concerning whether or not to add this to your online reviews.

My advice to anyone going to any Aspen Dental is to ALWAYS get a second opinion before having work done. I recently retired and, of course, lost my insurance. The supplemental insurance I went with offered dental, but it was only at Aspen Dental, and even though I had a regular dentist, I thought I would give them a try. Having had regular 6 month checkups and cleaning for the past 40 years, I was shocked at what Aspen told me. According to them, I have moderate bone loss and will need at least 3 appointments to have deep gum cleaning at a personal cost of several thousands of dollars not paid by my insurance. They also refused to let me have a regular cleaning until this extensive work was done. When I got home, I went on the internet and discovered this deep gum cleaning is something that they do all the time to patients that probably dont need it. Several states have lawsuits against them, trying to get them banned from their states entirely. Past employees have reported them for doing unnecessary work and having incentives to reach with how much they are able to bill people personally. They even have their own finance office set up to "help" you pay for this unnecessary work. I went to my own dentist 3 days after visiting Aspen and was told that I absolutely did not need deep gum cleaning and my gums and teeth were in very good condition. When they offer "free exam and x-ray", they are never free because they will find that you need work on your teeth and then charge you sometimes as much as 3 times what a regular dentist would charge. I did read another post where the patient went back to her dentist for a second opinion and was told that not only did she not need the work but if she had, it should cost around $350, but Aspen was going to charge her $1,850 for the same procedure. Just get a second opinion before you agree to any work from them.

I made an appt 2 months prior for a consultation for my son to have 6 teeth removed. We werent sure if they would need to be surgically removed or a simple extraction. I made it very clear to the person I scheduled the appt with that it was only for a consultation to meet the doctor and to submit what the charges would be to our insurance company so I would be prepared for any amount we might owe. I will say the office staff was very pleasant however, our wait time was very long. We were there for over 2 hrs (mostly waiting) but we did not get to meet with the oral surgeon. Apparently that isnt an option because they only have 1 surgeon that comes once a month. I would have appreciated this information in the beginning because we would not have bothered going. In addition to that the dentist that is normally there wasnt there and we saw a substitute. So, not only did we not get to meet with the surgeon for the consult but we didnt even see the regular dentist. After we did see the dentist we were told to wait (again) and someone from checkout would speak with us about the plan. We waited for 30 mins and no one came. By this time my son and I decided this would not be were he would be having this procedure done. We felt like the office was poorly ran and we were mislead that we would be meeting the surgeon and waited a very long time for everything. I am a bit irritated because due to no avail appts anywhere we now have to wait yet another month to be able to actually see an oral surgeon. Aspen Dental put us in a bad situation because my son is in need of getting these teeth extracted asap because they are overcrowding and he is having to wear his retainers 24/7 to keep his teeth from moving and one of the teeth is ruining his retainers. I do want to say again the office staff was nice and apologetic in our long wait.
