I am VERY disappointed with the service my cat DIDN’T receive from DeKalb Animal Hospital. I called the office an hour before they were scheduled to close. I explained I was less than 10 minutes away, and my cat was in distress and having trouble breathing. I was told they still had 2 more patients coming in and they couldn’t see me. I explained my cat was having trouble breathing and he needed to be seen now. They told me to take him to another facility that was open 24 hours. When I arrived at the 24 hour facility, I discovered it was not open 24 hours, and my cat had to wait 30 minutes for them to open. Sadly my cat had to be put down, and even worse those 30 minutes he spent waiting for the emergency clinic to open he was suffering having difficulty breathing.

I originally went here because I realized my puppy was coming down with parvo very early in the morning the day after I adopted her. The vet I had planned to take her to wasnt open, but the emergency clinic was closing for the night. They told me about Dekalb and that it opened at 7am. Dr. Rush diagnosed my puppy and gave me a worst case estimate of how much it might cost to treat her. They took excellent care of her (my dog is still excited to see her nurse when she goes in for her vaccinations). She recovered quickly and is doing great now, however the last time I went in I asked for an estimate to get her spayed and it was $503. I cant spend that. I wish I could though and if I made more I would go Dekalb in a heartbeat.

EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT care!!! We are dog siting so this was our first time visiting the vet. From the moment that we are arrived, we were treated with such great care. Everyone from the front desk staff to the vet assistants offered amazing customer service. Even on a busy Sat morning with several people coming in for emergencies, we were completely taken care of in a little over an hour. The office is spot clean and provides a relaxing environment for pet and owners alike. Dr. Rush was so kind and patient with our little friend - I will definitely be back again.
