I didnt think I would have to be writing this but I do have to. Until last Friday we had gone to March Animal Hospital for 10+ years and I am sure we have spent several thousand dollars there over the years. For the most part our experiences have been positive. We did have one vet we tried to stay away from but the others were always fairly good so we stayed. We even went to them when we had to put down our beloved Lab a couple years ago. We now have two dogs and we have been taking them both to March. Towards the end of June we had an appointment for our smaller dog. During the appointment Dr. March asked if we wanted the dog flu vaccine. I asked her a few questions and asked her how much. She said it was $26 and that there was a follow up booster 2-3 weeks after the first shot but there would be no charge for the follow up booster. I remember thinking that for $26, ok, I will do this. I also had her nails trimmed during this visit. Our return visit for the booster was last Friday the 15th. We waited a bit and then they took her in. One of the girls came out and said my dogs back nails needed trimming. I asked how much, she said it was $21. WOW. I said let it go. Then they said they were ready to settle up. I said this was no charge. She asked who told me that. I said Dr. March. They went back and said Dr. March said that is not right, the charge today will be $50. I asked to see Dr. March. Dr. March came out and there were other people in the waiting area, she didnt care to keep the conversation private at all. She said it is $50. I said no, you told me the follow up was no charge. She said "why would I tell you that? I pay the bills". There was nothing like, I am sorry there must have been a mis-understanding, nothing like that. She got an attitude immediately. I told her that I know for a fact that she told me the follow up was no charge. I know for absolute certain I would not have agreed to this shot if there was a $50 charge for it. She said "you dont have to pay but we will ask you not to come back". I told her I will pay it but I will not be back. She didnt care. And she didnt mind having this conversation while others looked on. I guess cheating someone out of $50 is more important than a customer of 10 years. The whole scene was so disappointing. Dr. March was very unprofessional and rude. And she flat out lied then said she did not. It made me wonder how she has treated my dogs over the years when I wasnt there watching. My wife wondered if Dr. March is in financial trouble and that is the reason for her lying like she did and cheating us out of $50. I had another appointment for my other dog this coming Friday that will be cancelled. We have already gotten some good recommendations for other vets very near by. If anyone needs other names I would be happy to share them. I would strongly recommend you stay away from March Animal Hospital.

Let me say that we have been going go March Animal Hospital for a number of years. All of our dogs have been Portuguese Water Dogs (PWD). Our second dog, a male, suffered from grand mal seizures. In the process of trying to control the seizures we frequented over half a dozen Veterinary Clinics over several years. NONE of them, many of whom came highly recommended, brought our male dogs seizures under control, while allowing our dogs to walk and take care of himself. Either he was too doped up, or the vet was too scared or did not know what to recommend. When we came to March Animal Hospital the vet on hand immediately started to research and figure out what to do. In a few months our male dog was back in good form, bounding up stairs, while not experiencing any more seizures. The medication that our male dog received was available from March Animal Hospital, but the vet and the receptionist mentioned another cheaper pharmacy. Never have I experienced such concern for our pocket book, at the vets expense. And this was not the only time! On other occasions the vet or the receptionists counseled us on how to save money on prescriptions, treatment or equipment. Since then Sigmund died in our arms at March Animal Hospital of cancer. ALL the staff were very helpful and sensitive. A few days later we received a card in the mail with everyones signature. We NEVER have had this kind of thoughtful, attentive and sensitive treatment. Since then we have another female PWD, Coco Chanel. She loves to go to the March Animal Hospital! We are always received courteously, and visits are followed up with a phone call or more, when appropriate. After many years of using March Animal Hospital I can attest that March Animal Hospital has consistently provided attentive, sensitive, thorough, prompt, and courteous service, all the while providing accurate diagnoses and successful treatments to our dogs. What more could I ask for?

My husband and I have been coming to March Animal Hospital for many years. They have taken care of both cats and dogs for us. We have always appreciated the level of personal care from each doctor and tech or staffer we have worked with, as well as their experience and intelligence and sympathy. The entire staff is always kind, caring and technically adept, whether it is someone at the front desk or someone who provides actual medical care for our cat or dog. The excellent training is obvious. We have in the past been to other veterinary hospitals but had never experienced the kind of attention we receive at March. It is very intimidating to have to take your pet to a doctor, not to mention stressful and frightening, and March personnel always take a personal interest in us and make the experience as painless as possible. Their prices are fair and they also provide a senior discount, which is much appreciated. Overall, we highly recommend March and always recommend them to our friends.

March Animal Hospital is the best! About a month ago, one of our cats started drooling. We didnt know why, but figured wed keep an eye on it if she wasnt better in the morning. The next day, she was drooling even more and seemed a little lethargic, so we called March Animal Hospital and explained the situation and our concerns. We recently moved down the street and hadnt found a new vet yet. The AWESOME staff were able to fit us in the SAME DAY, late morning even, and we got our cat, Kennedy, in to see the vet. An exam and some blood work later, they determined it was likely something she ate, something caustic, and the vet gave us some pills and instructions. Within a couple of days, Kennedy was doing MUCH better! The staff at March called to check-in and we were happy to report positive progress. We are just so happy with their flexibility and understanding - we will definitely be going to them from now on!
