I called around to different vets trying to see what they charged for spaying & de-clawing. I tried Rand rd animal hospital they told me about the coupons, and said that I could get them through pet friends and it would only cost 65.00 for each cat to be spayed. since I had spoke to them about it, that person was very helpful. I then went to the website to purchase the coupons so I could get them through the mail, but I noticed in the information they provided it said something about not spaying cats after a year old, I didnt know if I miss understood what I had read so to find out for sure before I purchased the coupons I called Rand Road Vets Animal Hospital back up and spoke to the vet there. Well he told me I could have her spayed and went on to say I could bring them in tomorrow; I told him I had to wait until I purchased the coupons first so I got the discount. He asked me who told me about the coupons I said someone I had spoke to there, he asked for a name I told him I didnt know, he didnt seem to happy in that someone there had told me about the coupons. He told me that he would save me the trouble and just give me 25% off the original cost, not sure how much it would actually be I asked him for an estimated amount, he said around 590.00. I then said ok, and I took my cats in the next day, well somewhere in my calculating I mixed up something so I called the vet back to question it and he said I hadnt taken off the amount I was suppose to pay for the coupons, and I said oh ok, and then he told me (“well I have to go I have someones pet on the table and you wouldnt like it if it was yours"). Excuse me I was perfectly fine talking to the people at the front desk, and next then I knew they put him on the phone. when he got on the phone he was rude to me, and telling me that he is doing me a favor He went on to say that I didnt add in the charge for 130.00 I would have paid to buy the coupons which he is wrong because it shouldnt have made a difference because he said forget the coupons, I will do you a favor and give you 25% off of your total bill. Well then he went on to say ("WHAT DO YOU WANT TO PAY 610.00 OR 590.00) then he just repeated himself again (WHAT DO YOU WANT TO PAY 610.00 OR 590.00), so feeling intimidated now I said 590.00 He was getting the 610.00 from what it would cost me after he dropped off the 130.00 for the discount I would of gotten for both cats with the coupons at 65.00 each...ok The original cost without the discount for the coupons would of been 740.00, but with the coupon discount I would of paid 610.00. but his whole deal was I WILL GIVE YOU 25% OFF...which hellooo is minus 185.00, which would of made my cost 555.00 which he still charged me 590.00 I was very upset and disappointed when I picked up my cats, because 1. I had to request them to give me pain meds for them, because they werent going to. 2. The cats had bloody paws and they had no wraps on them, just bloody smears everywhere in their pet kennel. 3. The other vet that I had spoke to said they would stay at least 3 days after the surgery to make sure they start healing properly, and this vet I had asked about and he said they could stay an extra day and not charge me for it, because they were not going to keep them at all. I was told they would go home in two days on the phone before I took my cats, but of course again after he did the surgery he said NO we are not keeping them, and said he wouldnt unless there was a need to, which he never stated that when I spoke to him on the phone. 4. They also shaved 1 of my cats from the stomach all the way up one side of her, when there was absolutely no need for them too, I was horrified to see my cat pratically hairless on her middle side

I am sorry to see the negative reviews here. Weve been going to this vet for over 20 years and have always felt that the doctors and staff are caring, compassionate, and knowledgable. Our most recent visit was for an emergency for our german shepherd. The crazy dog ended up with a 3 inch laceration to the back of his tongue. He was unable to drink or eat. They fit us into their schedule as an emergency, and although they couldnt actually see the laceration in back of his tongue, Dr. Cole made the call to anesthesize him and look more throughly. Good thing she did as the laceration was huge and in need of serious repair. Dr. Pete took 2 hours to carefully stitch him up. He spent a lot of time with us on the phone and in person to explain what happened and tell us how to care for our dog. When we had some trouble feeding him, he had us come in and helped us again. Most of the staff has been there for a long time, they are great with our pets, and treat them like family. Yes, it costs money and yes that can be painful at times to have to spend but I feel that the prices are reasonable for the care and expertise that we have received. There is a lot of education and experience that goes into being able to care for animals and you do have to expect to pay for that.

My kitty had UTI symptoms and I needed help fast. I used to use this vet when I lived in Palatine, but had not been there for about six years. I called on a Thursday (when they are closed), but Dr. Lysakowski happened to be there and picked up the phone while the answering machine was still playing their message. He told me they were closed, but when I explained the situation, he scheduled me for the following morning and told me what to do if things escalated before then. He took care of Baby (my cat), he showed me under the microscope what was in her urine, and he shaved her butt. She is a little...well, chubby and wasnt able to clean it like she needed to. He felt this may have contributed to the UTI. As a result of that conversation I had Baby shaved down to a lion cut (shes a very long haired cat). The amazing thing is that shes like a kitten again. For a long time, I havent seen her play or even walk around with her tail up. I guess that after the grooming she felt like a new cat. Thanks so much for fitting us in, Dr. L. Well be back. Highly recommend this as a caring and thorough vet for your precious pets.

After 5+ years of outstanding service, Dr. Lysakowski was my #1 doc veterinarian services. HOWEVER, after a blood drawing blotch on my dog causing pain and discomfort, and the inconsiderate and reckless care we received, I DO NOT RECOMMEND this vet. After I brought my concerns to Dr. Lysakowski about the discomfort my pet was in, I expected him to evaluate my pet. Instead I was approached hostily and was asked "well how much money do you have?" I was completely taken by surprise and needless to say, left and took my dog to Wright Animal Hospital in Des Plaines, where they treated us with respect and compassion. The choice is yours, however, I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS VET. I understand everyone needs to make money, but he couldve at least taken a look at my pooch before demanding money or asking how much I have. Disrespectful!!!
