I dont even know where to begin. Weve been going to Oakton Animal Hospital for 25 years and have nothing but praise for Dr. Ephraim and his staff. Theyve always been kind and compassionate. Over the years, weve ran into some difficult situations and Dr. Ephraim has always been honest and very informative. Hes always spent as much time necessary explaining in detail the options that were available to us as well as, the pros and cons. We always welcomed his opinion and have always gone that route and have never been disappointed with the decision we made. Heres a perfect example: Just a few weeks ago, our 12 year old border collie became very ill. She was lethargic, she could barely walk and we thought wed have to put her down. After a blood test and X-Ray, we came to find out that she had a splenic tumor, it was huge. After consulting with Dr. Ephraim, we decided to go ahead with the surgery, if when they opened her up, it appeared to be cancerous, they would close her back up and put her to sleep right then and there. But, I got a call that everything looked good and they were going to proceed with the removal. 2-1/2 hours later, they removed a 7lb 2oz tumor and I cant begin to tell you how happy we are with the outcome. The pathology came back benign on the sample that was tested and she couldnt be doing any better. We are so grateful to Dr. Ephraim and his staff for saving our sweetheart. We also have an 11 year old Rott who has an enlarged heart and has been on medication now for about a year and is doing great. Prior to these 2 dogs, we had another Rott that lived to be 13 years old. I have to say that weve been very fortunate to have our dogs live as long as they have. It also goes to show that the quality of care theyve been given over the years means everything and Oakton Animal Hospital and Dr. Ephraim and his staff are a huge part of that and were ever so grateful. Theyre the best!

Update: Our thirteen year old dog, Mo has been seeing the caring people of Oakton Animal Hospital for twelve years now. We feel Dr. Ephraim is one of those rare people who truly has a life long passion for the care, respect and protection of animals. The first time we met him we knew this was the vet for Mo as he is honest and open about all options of care with detailed explanations to make us understand Mo’s needs. Whenever we enter the hospital, it is always clean and smells good. Mo can be a skittish dog, but the quiet and tranquil atmosphere makes him happily step on the scale first thing in the door. Being we bring him in approximately 6-7 times a year for his nail to be clipped, twice a year for shots and other regular check up issues, teeth cleaning and several times due to his allergies, he willingly goes in the back with the staff when necessary or into an exam room. We are always informed on how long procedures will take, receive reasonable bills and most importantly excellent, excellent care. If you want your dog to be expertly cared for in a nurturing manner, Dr. Ephraim and his staff are the people for your family. Addition: We are also taking our dog, Sugar, a white dachshund to see Dr. Ephraim and his great staff for the past five years. She has been treated just as well as Mo and my family cannot be happier with the quality of care and the professionalism of the staff. Thanks again to Oakton Animal Hospital for being there for our furry family members.

Doctor Ephraim and his staff at Oakton Animal Hospital are outstanding. They have cared for my cantankerous felines - calicos, tortoiseshells, and a wild tabby, - since 1987. They know the names of my cats and my children as we walk in the door, and they treat both as if they are family members. I have always been impressed with Dr. Ephraims ability to handle my cats. I have one tortoiseshell who growls and hisses whenever she is handled by anyone, even myself. But Dr. Ephraim can perform a full examination and administer her shots without so much as a whimper. Cats recognize professionals when they see them. This same cat has a condition that requires a special diet, and in a moment of carelessness I had run out of food on a holiday weekend. I knew the Hospital was closed, but I called the office anyway, and happened to catch one of the staff who had come in to check on an extended-stay patient. I explained my plight, and they told me to come right over an pick up what my cat needed. Now thats customer service! Over many years now several cats have stole through our lives on softly padded feet. They come and go, as is the nature of all things, but one of the constants has been the exceptional veterinary care they have all received from Dr. Ephraim and the Oakton Animal Hospital. I cannot imagine taking my felines anywhere else.

Dr. Glen is the best vet I have had the privilege to meet and have work on my animals. He is extremely thorough and informs you of all your options. Even if the options are pricey. He leaves it up to me to decide the level of treatment. I have had several dogs with him. One died due to seizures and the other is still with us. His bed side manner was great. He understands these animals are family. I have been going to Oakton for over 3 years and my friends for over 20+ years. If your looking for a vet to call home then stop here and call. Dr. Glen and his team are great! I have been to several vets in the area and am having Dr. Glen fix botched surgeries on my one pup tomorrow due to lack of skill, knowledge, and care at the vets I used prior. He is giving my pup the shot she deserves. Dr. Glens care is truly 2nd to none. If I could give 10 stars I would.

I have been going to Oakton Animal Hospital for over 30 years. I have long since moved out of the area and will travel to Elk Grove just to keep Dr. Ephraim in our pets life. The care we receive compares to none. Dr. Ephraim takes his time to explain things to you so that you understand. He also has gone above and beyond for us. When one of our Golden Retrievers had surgery (at a specialist) and things werent going well. Dr. Ephraim immediately got to work, made the calls and the surgeon that had preformed the surgery redid the surgery and everything went well from then on. I trust Dr. Ephraim and so should you. He cares about your pet, hell even take time out of his day and give you a call just to check on your pet. Currently between my daughters and myself we have 6 Dogs and they all see Dr. Ephraim. His staff is Friendly and courteous and most of all the have HEART.

I have had cats all my life and have been to many, many vet offices in that time. None of them even come close to the compassionate, top rate care Dr. Ephraim and his staff gives. From the minute I walk in with my 4 cats, I am greeted by my name with warmth, the cats are equally made welcome. Dr. Ephraim takes great time and care examining my pets and makes sure I completely understand what he is doing and why. If there is a problem, he presents all sides to me and does tell me about the costs associated prior to doing anything. He keeps up with all the advances in pet care and is very well educated and experienced. I probably pass 10 other vet offices on my way to Oakton Animal Hospital and even though they would be closer for me, I never, ever would think about going anywhere else. My cats are lucky we found him.
