This review is related to their BOARDING services only. My review apparently was removed, so Im re-posting - In 2011, our family dog went MISSING for almost 5 days as a result of negligence from this facility. Maybe their protocols have changed since - I hope so, and Im sure they will gladly explain. However, pet lovers, please beware of boarding here. Our Sheltie somehow got out of the leash and collar that they gave him while taking him for a walk with another dog (Yes- they gave him a new collar with no ID!). Since they dont keep the original collars and ID tags on the dogs while they are boarding them, he was lost without any identification and at the fault of this facility. Please be cautious in choosing this place for boarding. They are located directly off of a road and do not have a fence to ensure that all dogs on the property will be kept safe. This was absolutely heartbreaking for our family and is a mistake that never should have been made. Thankfully, our boy was found, but not in any part due to efforts from staff here. They drove around the first night but were not at all involved for the next 4.5 days he was missing. Burleigh did compensate my family as requested, so in that sense, that was the responsible thing for them to do and that was both expected and appreciated. The biggest problem (and the reason I feel its necessary to warn other pet families) is that Burleigh is a boarding facility with no fenced-in areas and protocols that involve walking multiple dogs at the same time. They need to take dogs for walks as they have no other way of exercising the animals. They are also right off of main roads, where cars could frighten dogs or where the obvious could happen in case a dog were to escape. Maybe they should focus on veterinary practice, as boarding (and walking animals along the road) simply does not make sense for this location. Any responsible dog owners know that dogs become familiar with a certain type of collar or harness and putting a different type on them may cause a fear reaction, or they may be able to figure out how to escape them. And clearly, a dog without an ID tag is a HUGE problem! We made it very clear to them that our boy was anxious around other dogs and they knew him quite well, so it does not seem to be logical that they would find it a good idea to take him for a walk alongside another dog. This should have been obvious to any trained animal walker/worker the second they put these two dogs next to each other. Again, we highly recommend vet services for this hospital and do NOT wish to deter anyone from using their veterinary care services. But, I do not recommend that you board your dog here. There are other facilities more equipped with safety measures such as fences. It is at your own risk if you choose a boarding facility with no fences and that walks dogs alongside other dogs, etc. Our family took the risk and it turned out badly. An unfortunate situation and mistakes do happen, but I would advise you to still be cautious about boarding here. Please do not remove my review again - I will just re-post it. Services like this exist so that consumers may warn other consumers about potential risks and problems, and in this case, its highly essential. Were huge dog lovers, and families should take great care and consideration when choosing a boarding facility for their furry family members.

I cant say I loved my experience with BRAH, but I do give them a 5 star rating. Being a pet parent is a huge responsibility. We sometimes forget that these little furry angels are put on this earth for a very short time and when a health issue occurs that threatens their existence a flood of emotions are stirred up in us, looking for immediate answers and cures, expecting the devoted and prioritized care for our pet, looking for someone or something to fault for their illness and perhaps even a little guilt wondering if we ourselves have done enough for their care. In the end, whether our furry friend has been healed or has crossed the rainbow bridge to pet heaven our lives have been changed, we become more aware of how much they mean to us and how we must be more attentive to their needs or we have a huge void in our life and a broken heart. My experience with BRAH started just this last spring when one of my two 14+ year old cats that had cancer was in her last days and I made an appointment to end her suffering, I canceled that appointment because in my mind she had improved only to decline again shortly thereafter. I agonized for weeks as to when I would finally let her go; however, during this time I noticed that her sister had been losing weight and was hardly eating. I made an appointment and brought her in and found that she was very ill, and after several examinations and treatments in just a few short weeks she too was diagnosed with a different type of cancer that drained the life out of her in a very short time. During that time the staff and doctors where very accommodating, calling my home to check on her status and making appointments to bring in on an hours notice including weekends. In the end the doctor gave me referrals of different vet services that would come to my home to end their suffering together. It was possibly the hardest day of my life to have both of my precious babies leave us at the same time, however BRAH made it a little easier to deal with.

I have been bringing our 3 dogs and cat to BRAH for over 7 years. BRAH was recommended to us by a friend. We have seen all the vets that work here at one time or another. Each has a true compassion for our pets and their well-being.One of our dogs is a handful and they always go out of their way to accommodate him to not be so stressed. The follow up calls are much appreciated and hours are extremely convenient. They ALWAYS spend whatever time necessary to address our questions and concerns, and explain treatment options in terms we can understand and are comfortable with. Our decisions have always been respected and we have never been pushed into something we were not comfortable doing. As our four legged kids age, it is so important to us to have a facility we can trust. Both me and my husband, along with our pets have always been treated well and as if we are family. BRAH has the tools, resources and equipment necessary to care for our pets especially as they age. Our pets are rescues and due to age and their past lives, have many health issues. We are fortunate to have them here with us today and its all due to the care they receive at BRAH. (and worth every penny!) Thank you all! :)

Waste of Time & Money! I have been taking my dog Max to Burleigh Road Animal Hospital in Brookfield for 3 years. They have never been able to diagnose the problem Max has. They will however, run hundreds (multiple hundreds) of dollars worth of tests and keep scheduling follow-up visits so they can "try" other tests. But, they wont see you if your dog has scratched his head bloody. This is considered a non-emergency to them. I have stopped taking Max to Burleigh Road Animal Hospital in Brookfield all together and he will continue to see his new wonderful doctor at Menomonee Falls Animal Hospital. I took him there for the 1st time last week Saturday. The doctor saw us even though we arrived 10 minutes before they closed with no appointment. He immediately knew what was wrong with Max and he explained exactly why it occurred. It all made sense. When all was said and done, we left with a clear diagnosis and treatment plan, a new lampshade for his head, and 2 medications for under $100. So long Burleigh. You dented my wallet but couldnt diagnose what appears to be a COMMON problem.
