This review is as of 4/1/2015. This review is long, but take the time to read about my experience and perhaps save yourself some $$$ and headache. My rescue, Buff, has been going to daycare at CARE since we got him in June 2014. Today, I was called up, out of the blue and told that because of “aggressive behavior,” Buff is out at CARE—mind you, there have been no previous warnings to this effect and no notification that my dog was exhibiting (questionably) “aggressive behavior” save for one instance 4 months ago, that I was told had been resolved and was not Buff’s issue but other dog’s issue in the day care area. If you have a dog who bonds easily with caretakers (especially females) and tends to want to protect them from strangers he or she does not know, DON’T TAKE YOUR DOG TO CARE. My dog is ½ Chocolate Lab and ½ Chesapeake Bay Retriever. The handlers at CARE, especially FRAN, are inexperienced and untrained and will ban your dog from CARE’s Day Care facility with no notice and even after they have bonded with your dog over several months’ time. These handlers are not professionals, simply young ladies paid an hourly wage to do a babysitting job. They are animal lovers, yes, but they do not know how to manage multiple dogs at once in the same space and they REALLY are not trained to handle a variety of canine personality types. The manager at this facility, LINDA, is a very dishonest, unprofessional person who seems to be caught up on a power trip, and whom has workers who are intimidated by her and fearful. She is someone who lies and really has no idea whatsoever as to what goes on in the day care portion of the facility. My dog bonds with people who are nice to him, give him treats, and who he is around every day—as was the case with CARE. When my dog exhibited protective behavior, they then wanted to try and blame the animal for a behavior they have witnessed and nurtured and encouraged over a long period of time, which they now want to label aggressive for their convenience. This manager person...LINDA? Absolutely LOCO, crazy as hell and you would not want her to manage anything having to do with your dog, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. She is given control of your dog and his/her experience at CARE without EVER seeing, interacting or observing; its ridiculous and just indicative of what goes on in canine daycares that are run like businesses rather than caring facilities...the name that CARE has chosen is really all a big lie. CARE is expensive at $32/day for Day Care ($150/for a 10 day package), but they do not have TRAINED personnel to tend to, interact with nor understand canine behavior. Free Advice: If you have a dog that has a unique personality and may be a bit slow to trust, DO NOT TAKE HIM/HER TO CARE as they do more harm than good and may very well call you up one day and inform you that your dog is no longer welcome at their facility, leaving you and your dog confused and angry. I am very disappointed in the service this place is giving and pissed that I (and my dog) have been treated so poorly. Hmmm, I wonder if the Illinois State Attorney General would interested in the fact that CARE is employing untrained staff in their day care facility…it scares me to think about what might be going on in the attached emergency room/hospital area. As for LINDA? She should be fired instantly for lack of customer service quality and bad service. I guess I should be thankful that my dog is now out of CARE, an environment where he could have been hurt or mistreated. Don’t be fooled by the name CARE, as this place is anything but. I am not disgruntled or crazy. I am a teacher and work with children all day...animals and kids need the same loving, patient environment and CARE is none of neither of those. I really hope the owner reads this review because I am doubtful he even knows what is going on in his own facility.

Fur-baby parents beware! Ive been taking my 2 year old dachshund mix here since I got him when he was 4 weeks old. His initial round of shots went well, and we came a few times in-between for some minor things, then a year later we returned for his same yearly vaccinations. This was a HUGE mistake and I should have talked to the many friends I have who stated that this place is no good before returning here. Theres a male vet there that has no idea what hes doing. My puppy started throwing up about 10 minutes after we got home from the yearly vaccination trip, so I took him back. When I took him back into the office, the doctor pretty much shrugged his shoulders at me and told me he will give him an anti-nausea shot and sent us on our way. Then, 20 minutes into the car ride home, my 12 pound dog started breaking out into gumball sized hives. I immediately freaked out and raced back into the office. Upon arrival, there was NO one at the front desk, so I had to scream for someone to come help. The assistant/vet tech then took her time taking us back to a room where I waited 10 minutes for the vet to come in. Mind you, this is all while the golf ball sized hives are growing and my puppys crying is continuing to get louder. The vet finally walked in and specifically admitted to me that he shouldnt have sent my dog home without a more thorough examination and simply said "sorry" and then proceeded to tell me stories about dogs in their office who have died because of certain reactions to vaccines. He had to end up staying there for 4-6 hours for observation after they gave him a benadryl shot. As we went to pick him up, the rude receptionist had the NERVE to tell me that Id have to pay $300 for the shot and observation. REALLY?!?! You think Im going to pay for your incompetent employees to watch my dog for a few hours when you messed up?! Absolutely not. I wouldnt wish this experience on my worst enemy. My puppy, who is from wright way animal rescue, is a total sweetheart and has NEVER bitten anyone but for some reason they have "will bite" all over his chart and he cries almost every time we pull up to the clinic. Its probably because they do who knows what to the poor animals in their back room. Very unfortunate, you couldnt pay me to return here.

I use to love this hospital and its staff they have fantastic doctors who treated all my pets with care and responsibility. Today was the first time I wanted to take my dog and run. Not only was the morning staff rude on the phone but the doctor, who I now know to be the owner of the hospital, David Aul, made me feel so uncomfortable. I was there the day before and met with Chris Lin and he was spectacular. He really cared about my dogs well being. There is a tumor on my dogs chest. Its most likely harmless but Dr. Lin suggested a Biopsy to make sure because depending on the results would depend on what sort of surgery to have. Then I met Dr Aul. He came in and decided its fine. I explained it causes him pain and he then said we should just remove it and testing would be pointless because he can "tell" based on looking I guess. I found that shocking and the sign of a Lazy Veterinarian who would rather assume then take the extra steps to ensure my dogs well being. He had zero bedside manor and made me feel like a customer. Not a patient. I have been bringing my pets here for almost 10 years now. I will now have to decide if I wish to continue and just make sure to never see the owner or change all together. I love so many of the other doctors. Thats why I couldnt give this a 1 star. But I never want David Aul near my pets again and Im appalled by the way we were treated.
