I wouldnt even give it one star! I was a long term customer here and use to take my animals here all the time, it all started about a year ago my cat who is 13 got an upset stomach and was throwing up she obviously stopped eating for a while, so i took her here she was given fluids and shot for upset stomach. so a few days go by and she still isnt eating I then called to get advice like hey she still isnt eating is there something you can help me with? I was told by the er doctor that night to PREPARE FOR HER DEATH!! I was so upset my best friend of 13 years who acts no older than a 2 year old ! I was just told to just let her die! so my husband to the rescue tried tuna fish and my cat started eating same day! she is doing amazing to this day! No thanks to the doctors there! Now to most recent I called and spoke with Jeanette my dog had a paw that she wasnt putting any weight on from Sunday night until now Monday evening, I called to give her the heads up I was on my way to the er and asking if there was a female doctor on call that night, she then informed me no only a male, so I mentioned ok cool can you please have a muzzle ready for my dog so I can contain her and make the visit go smooth and easy. She says well you can take her somewhere else! I asked like another dundee hospital, she replied yes, I said oh is there a location that has female doctors working tonight and she said I dont know. so i asked where shall I bring her or call, She said COMPANION ANIMAL CARE! I asked oh is there female doctors there and she said I dont know we arent affiliated with them. So another time here where I am turned away from bringing my animal here, because I asked for a muzzle for my dog!!?? I was dumbfounded like did she really just turn me away from bringing my dog in! Her paw was swollen and she couldnt walk! So I went to companion and was more than pleased! Found out my dog has a broken paw! So I will no longer be coming here, I feel like they are out for money and DO NOT TRULY care for my animals/kids well being! I even called them and told them to transfer my paper work to a new animal hospital and i was told they couldnt do this cause they were about to close, so I had to demand they do this for another er visit for my pup with the broken paw cause her cast got chewed off, I gpt those papers transferred and Imstill waiting on all the others! DO NOT BRING YOUR PETS HERE!!

I am so happy my family found Dundee Animal Hospital. Their customer service is the best I have encountered and the care they provide the animals is the best around. My husband got stationed in Louisiana but I know if there is something wrong with my dogs I can give their doctor at Dundee a call (Dr. OBrien) and she will give me advise. If something serious ever happened to my dogs I would make the drive to Dundee in a minute because I know that is where they will get the best care. I even try to schedule their dentals around the times I will be in town because I know they will get the best care and I do not have to worry. Sure they are a bit pricey, but to me the price is well worth the peace of mind in knowing my dogs are getting the best care around. I personally go to the Dundee office, but I can tell you any of the locations are just as good. My parents live in Elgin and go to the Elgin office and they got the best care for their Papillon who had a collapsing trachea. Unfortunately their dog had to be put to sleep a few weeks ago after taking a sudden and unexpected turn for the worst. Dr. Larson was their vet and they told me they were so happy he was there because he was so caring and helpful. They knew they were making the best decision for Sam at that moment and were very grateful for all the support Dr. Larson gave them. They got a very nice sympathy letter from him shortly after they put Sam to sleep. My parents had originally decided to have a general cremation done but later that night my stepfather had a change of heart and wanted the cremains returned to the family. Both the Elgin office and the Dundee office communicated together to ensure that the change was made and that Sam was returned to us. The wooden box that his cremains were returned in was beautiful. Overall what was a horribly heartbreaking decision for my family was really made a lot easier to deal with with the help from Dr. Larson and the staff at the facility. This is the only animal hospital (any of the locations) I will recommend to anyone in the area.

I brought my dog to this place for bloat he was a strong healthy 4 year old pure bred Great Dane . The doctor from the USSR was more interested in about the money than saving my dogs life. My 10 year old son witnessed this. He wanted 4000-6000 to preform the operation but would agree to 2000 up front I had 1500 thats all the money I had and offered the other 500 on Friday but he wanted 2000 up front . We were 500 away from saving my dogs life and my children and our family from heart break. He said he could try and tube him and if that worked it would be like winning the lottery. He said that was between 700-1000 and then if that fixed is stomach we can do the stomach staple as an elective procedure and that would be 800 and he would be fine same operation just non emergency and way less. How is that right. Needless to say it did not work and my son begged for the life of jos friend that fell on deaf ears. Sad thing is as I write this I now have the 4000 such is life. Our buddy IKE is now dead my children are heart broken. The only nice thing I could say is the Vet tech cried with us and comforted My son and my self. His remains will be returned to us in two weeks and I will never step foot in that place ever again.

Im always nervous about moving and having to find a new vet. My mother-in-law recommend them to me when I moved to Dundee. She takes here 3 cats there. I have 1 cat and 1 dog. One cool thing thats probably is not significant was I got to take both the cat and dog at the same time. My pup felt more comfortable having his best friend the cat in the same examination room. And the cat was free to investigate and climb all over the place which made her more comfortable. My dog has had a bad experience with a past vet and is extremely nervous when she has to go to the vet. I explained this to the vet and his assistant and they both took the time to listen. I like how they didnt rush my dog and gave her a chance to calm down before they did anything. They were really great. Ive been even thinking of driving them back up to Illinois from our latest move to Texas, just to get them their annual checkups since I was comfortable with the staff and how they handled both the dog and cat. Even the doctors body language and voice was natural and soothing for the pets. I will say it was typical price and maybe even expensive...but completely worth it in my mind for the pets and myself to have peace of mind
