I am glad we have access to a 24 emergency vet clinic. Having said that, I had the hands down worst service experience I have ever had experienced when I had to take my dog to the Animal Emergency clinic of Mclean County. Zoe had a fever of 105 and was in obvious pain, the vet (Dr. Walter) read the chart, said she need to stay overnight with IV fluids and do testing. She then left, came back 10 minutes later (while my Zoe lay shivering on the cold concrete) and started going through the bill line by line asking if I could pay! I was EXTREMELY upset, but did no yelling, no threatening, no loud voice, I simply asked why was she not taking care of Zoe and spending time reading me a bill? By the way I had already signed that I would pay. Dr. Walter left. 10-15 more minutes passed with nothing being done for Zoe, Dr. Walter hands me the phone and wants me to talk to the office manager! The office manager said Dr. Walter was concerned about our “relationship???” and suggested I take Zoe to the U of I. Are you KIDDING me? I am in an emergency clinic and you want me to drive over an hour to Champaign with a very sick dog? The vet tech meanwhile (Finally) takes Zoe, comes back- I am STILL on the phone trying to figure out what the heck is happening (am I being pranked, am I in the twilight zone) and has taken x-rays and blood but STILL NOTHING for the fever. After loudly questioning this for another 5-10 minutes she comes back to get Zoe hooked up to IV. It took a good HOUR before anything was done about her 105 temperature, all the while I had to practically beg them to help her, defend my ability to pay? Defend my questioning of Zoe NOT getting treatment?? The end result, thank GOD, Zoe was ok (no thanks to them…just lucky it was Lyme disease and not something immediately life threatening). And a $1200 bill for a 10 hour stay, 3 x-rays and blood work. No one at my regular vet, nor my husband, family or friends can believe the story when told. And the story DOES NOT do the situation justice to describe the awful reality of being in an emergency clinic and NO ONE helping, in fact suggesting you go elsewhere.

My cat has been in and out of the vet all week with bladder issues. At 5:30am, my cat woke me up (very purposfully) crying and panting and I knew something was wrong. I called the Emergency Vet and they said to bring him right in. I brought him and they took him to the back within 5 minutes of me walking in the door. They were very attentive and they were Unbelievably kind. They went above and beyond.

I just called for my cat and asked if they could help and the yes of course but I asked what would happen if I couldnt pay all tonight and she EXTREMELY rudely replied Well then we cant help you then can we. I will never ever ever go here nor will anyone I know.

They provide great service for us when our dog was having bad seizures. They were professional and wonderful at explaining things to us and kept us up to date on how he was doing. I recommend them. Yes it costs a lot, but the service was amazing.
