We chose WPV Clinic by looking at their website and those of a few competitors. Not really a lot to go on. Location was a plus. Our experience has been great for both routine visits and one emergency. Our 2 cats have had a checkup each (Dr. Caldwell) and some dental work done (Dr. Hellestad), all of which went fine. Then one of the cats had an emergency and WPV really shined. It wasnt life threatening, but they took him pretty quickly (fyi, this was during business hours, for other times they recommend Vet. Emergency Service). The prognosis was detailed with questions welcomed. It was going to be expensive with only a couple of shortcuts offered. Dr. Olson was clear and persuasive. My wife and I consulted and did a little googling. We called back and agreed to her plan. Our cat is recovering nicely. We were impressed by the 4 or 5 followup phone calls that Olson or the techs have made since to check in and encourage us to do the aftercare things we might otherwise have let slip. What really won us was when the emergency treatment took a sudden turn. Herman was seriously blocked, dribbling bloody urine. He could barely stand when we took him in. As I say, it was going to be expensive ($1,800 - $2,000). Dr. Olson talked x-ray, blood tests, surgery to insert catheters (a small then a large!), and a 2 day stay at the vet. We OKd the treatment, and said wed visit Herm after hed woken up late in the day. When we got there, Dr. Olson was exuberant. (Shed left a message, but our phones were off.) Before knocking him out, she said, they gave him some kind of standard muscle relaxant. Ten minutes later, just as they were ready to knock him out for surgery, Herman was peeing like no tomorrow. Just as she got going explaining, a beaming tech came out to announce hed had peed again! When we finally got a word in, we asked, so what now? Oh, Herman goes home with you. No catheters, no 2 day stay. $300 for they did have to do, then she was back to Hermies fascinating urinary tract. She gave us meds, verbal, written and emailed instructions as well as a PDF or two. As described, theyve called to check on Herm in the week since.

I really liked them when I first started bringing my two cats there. But the last couple experiences Ive had with my 12-year-old cat have been just appalling. Several months ago one of the vets noticed something wrong with his gums, something a prior vet had messed up, and wanted to do surgery to correct the problem. So they put him completely under, then noticed something else that she wasnt sure about and wanted to check with a specialist. So they woke him up without having done anything. I missed their initial phone call, and a couple days later I called back and had to leave a message, which was never returned, even though I called to ask about it several more times. So as far as I know, my cat is still in pain, and I gave Whole Pet over $400 to do absolutely nothing. More recently, I brought him in again to address some inappropriate urination behaviors which I assume come with old age. They did a couple tests, the tests were negative, and I was told that a vet would call me on Monday to discuss where to go from here. Late on Monday, shortly before they closed, I still hadnt heard from them, so I called and I was told that I was the first person on Dr. Caldwells list to call as soon as she got out of her appointment. Nope. Now it is Wednesday. I called late this morning, and was told Id get a call shortly. Nope. Now theyre about to close again, I called again, and was told that I was the first person on Dr Caldwells list to call this evening. I kind of doubt it. Needless to say, I will not be bringing either of my cats back there, I hope that none of you reading this does either. I will sure as hell keep calling them until I either get what I paid them for, or until they give me my money back. I feel so ripped off. And Ive told them, Im a student and Im on disability, they KNOW I cant just give them $400 dollars whenever they want me to, but I feel like thats what they made me do. If they arent going to treat my cat then I should get back the money I gave them to treat my cat. I hope that they read this review and feel ashamed of themselves.

Weve been clients of Whole Pet since May 2013 and I have nothing but amazing praise for all the staff. Our cat was deathly ill, I called them sobbing and even tho wed never been there before they fit us into an emergency appointment. Dr. Erica Hellestad was calm and reassuring in explaining the prognosis and the cost. When other vets may have told us our only option was euthanasia, she took the time to explain all options and did not make us feel pressured or judged, only reassured that Whole Pet would help us through. She did her best to help us through such a difficult situation, arranged for us to transfer to VES, even followed up through the weekend - when the office was closed. She and her staff are genuinely interested in the health and well-being of your furry family members. Our cat recovered from this situation, but has had continual health problems since. All of the techs and reception staff are very understanding, friendly and knowledgeable. They do their best to get you an answer and follow up and will coordinate with other vets and VES if needed. I can attest that they are genuinely concerned for your wallet and have really gone above and beyond to help us out. They call us to check in every month if they dont hear from us (although they usually do), to make sure everythings going ok and answer any questions we have. They even offer some holistic options now and if asked about a treatment they are not familiar with, will research it and discuss with you. Very open minded, understanding, above and beyond veterinary care!

Back in February 2012, our cat had a seizure in the night. First thing the next morning, we called Whole Pet. They very graciously squeezed in to their already full schedule.. As we waited in the exam room to start our appointment, we suddenly heard a commotion in the lobby...an adult mans tears, wailing, anguish. Apparently a dog had been hit by a car and the owner carried him in to Whole pet for help. And we were to become uninvolved and incidental observers to the true nature of the Whole Pet staff. I was SO impressed with what happened next. Even though they were already busy, they rushed him into the back and started working to save him. The compassion they showed in the midst of what was obviously an already busy day made clear what we already knew: we never need to question our decision to come to Whole Pet. And the best news is that Im told the little guy recovered! (and our cat is also doing well) Thanks Dr. Megan!

We were referred to Whole Pet by a friend and we couldnt be happier with the service we have received. Dr. Caldwell and the rest of the staff are incredibly kind and extremely knowledgeable. We adopted a senior dog with dental issues, and he has been through a couple of procedures to remove the problem teeth. Being our first pet, taking him in for surgery was a little nerve-wrecking. Dr. Caldwell called us several times during each procedure to let us know his progress and to answer any questions we had along the way. Needless to say, we were both comforted and relieved to know we had our dog under such great care. We are so grateful that the staff takes the time to educate their clients about options for their pets health, and they also leave the door open if you ever have any questions. If we could give more than five stars, we would. They are absolutely the best!
