To all looking for a new dentist, after using Hessel Park Dentistry this Friday I would strongly advise AGAINST going to this office. They told me I had stage four gum disease and was close to losing teeth in my mouth, for this reason they suggested I URGENTLY get their treatment plan for a cleaning with them that costed 1700 dollars (keeping in mind that Cheryl is a dental hygienist and not even a periodontist). Yes 1700 for a cleaning. This caused me extensive worry this weekend and I did not eat any food to not make my gums worse. HOWEVER, after seeing a very fair Periodonsist in Champaign today, he told me that this was very very false information. And that I had a mouth infection and just needed to wait that out and just a cleaning would suffice, not quadrant cleaning. At Hessel Park they are out for their bottom line only, they are very young dentists probably trying to make a living any way they can. Would highly reccomend using other dentists in the area and NEVER visiting this office as they just want your money. I played tennis for the University of Illinois and just graduated. Very unfair to be lied to in the healthcare services. They will petrify someone that they have a SEVERE DISEASE in an attempt to get more money.

My insurance pays 100% for preventative care such as cleaning, exams and xrays. I would take my kids in for six months check up and when they were done they would say, $75 per kid please. Why? Because they were screening them for mouth cancer and doing all kinds of things to them without asking me- rinses and measuring tests. I tefused to pay for them. I told them four different visits, just cleaning and exam. Everytime they added on things. Then they told me my 15 year old fillings needed removed because they were older than 10 years. Then they told me my verticle groove in my molar needed filled because it could some day get decay. I fought them on that - said if not broke dont fix. They harrassed me so hard I let then fill it. It didnt need it. Then they tried to talk me into removing an wisdom tooth that has nothing wrong with it. I do not trust them at all and have left.

I recently moved to Urbana, and needed to find a new dentist. I went with Hessel Park, somewhat randomly, and am very glad I did. I need extensive work done, and Dr. Faught has been great at explaining the procedures and why we are doing them. He also has been sensitive to my financial constraints and is striving to work within the allowances of my insurance company but also provide the care I need. He is professional and to the point. The 2 hygienists that Ive had have also been super personable and interested in making sure Im comfortable. The front desk people are friendly, and the people that deal with the financial part are patient and informative. So far, my experience with them has been excellent, and Im super glad I happened to pick them out of the bunch of dentists here in town.

This is the only dentist I have enjoyed going to. I needed an emergency root canal and even though there were no openings in the schedule I was told to come in and they would see me in between patients. I was terrified but the team here was very calming. After learning that I would be moving across the country for a job the only thing I was going to miss was this dentist. (It sounds weird but I actually liked going to the dentist after finding hessel park family dentistry.)

Everyone here is so relaxed and welcoming. The dentists and their assistants asked me frequently if I was comfortable and clearly explained exactly what they were doing. They even let me look at my ground down tooth before the new filling went in! I was really nervous at first, because it had been many years since Id seen a dentist. But left feeling very satisfied and proud of my new fillings. Be sure to ask about the Option One dental plan if you dont have insurance.

Bunch of scammers. This place sucks. Would give negative stars if I could. Completely tried to rip me off last week, but luckily I was smart enough to consult another dentist before making any further procedures. STAY AWAY.

Be very careful. This is a VERY expensive dentist and they recommend expensive treatments that are not needed. I went to two other dentists for other opinoins and neither felt the diagnosis here was correct.
